Chapter 7

Tiana's POV

-Next day-

Another school day. I was still feeling a little woozy since I really haven't had enough sleep last night so I just sat upright on my bed and grabbed my phone to check the time.

Shit! It's 15 minutes before class starts! I I quickly got up, took a quick shower and dressed up in my casual attire (image above). I then put a bit of concealer and powder around my eyes so no one can see the dark circles around my eyes. I mean, hey, it's better to arrive late than ugly. After that, I then got out and went off to school.

-School-

I arrived school with only one more minute to spare. God, I'm lucky. I quickly ran to my first class which is English class.

All throughout the discussion about English literature, I didn't even understand what I don't understand. Then I remembered, I forgot to eat breakfast. Great. Now that explains my weird feeling. It's like, any moment now, I could just fall on the floor  or something.

An hour passed by and the school bell rang.

Yes. Four more torturing hours and I'm free to eat a double cheese burger and a medium coke-- wait, no, two double cheeseburgers and a large coke. That's it.

Okay now it's time for history.

Time to beat up Math-- thank God for Marcel.

Okay, Spanish class-- I know, I don't even know why we have Spanish class like as if it's the universal language which we can use to communicate with others easily.

Still, I'm okay with it since I'm 1/4 Spanish and this class gives me extra credits.

After an hour long of speaking in Spanish, it was finally Science class-- the last class in the morning. I got up quickly and out-balanced myself which almost made me fall down since yeah, I felt like fainting since one, I only had 5 hours of sleep and two, I forgot breakfast-- but luckily someone caught me.

"You okay?" a deep male voice said and when I looked up, it was no one familiar to me.

Still, he was a somehow fair, tall; I mean, really tall and I must admit, he's pretty handsome.

"Yeah, I'm okay," I said "Thanks,"

"You're welcome," he said and pulled out his hand "I'm Liam by the way." he added and gave me a warm smile.

"Oh, hiii," I replied shaking his hand "I'm Tiana Lynn Carter, nice to meet you," I added and returned him a warm smile as well.

Liam and I got along pretty quickly. He told me how he kind of admired me since school started and how he always wanted to be my friend and now we are.

Today, I just remembered that we won't be having our last morning period since there's this whole battle of the bands thing that were competing to perform for prom night.

Which was a bit of a relief.

I decided to text Marcel since we already agreed to have a lunch date-- I mean, have lunch together. Speaking of Marcel, I haven't seen him all morning.

"1 more hour to go. See you at lunchtime :) x" I texted and after a few minutes he replied.

"I've got a surprise btw. See you :) x" he said.

I got a bit confused though so I texted him again.

"What surprise?" I said but even now that the program has started, he didn't reply.

I felt a bit uneasy though, I mean-- not that I don't even know why I feel uneasy like-- what the hell, Tiana?!

"You okay, Tiana?" Liam said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, yeah, totally, everything's perfectly copacetic." I said as he looked at me again, his face waiting for assurance.

"Sure?" he said as I nodded.

"Totally," I said and even made an OK hand gesture.

I can really tell that Liam was a bit concerned but I just shrugged it off as we stood on the side of the Audio Visual Room.

"And now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, here I present to you, White Eskimo!" the MC said as the students clapped in a dull manner.

Until--

This guy named Chase started singing.

I thought, I saw a girl brought to lifeShe was warm, she came around and she was dignifiedShe showed me what it was to cry

Gosh this song gives me the feels and the chills despite being my favorite song.

Well, you couldn't be that girl I adored

You don't seem to know

Seem to care what your heart is for

But I don't know her anymore

Then, I started to hear a familiar voice. A deep, raspy, yet beautiful voice.

There's nothing where she used to lieThe conversation has run dry

Wait, what?! Is that--

That's what's going on

Nothing's fine, I'm torn

And just like that, the crowd went wild-- especially the girls.

I'm all out of faithThis is how I feelI'm cold and I am shamedLying naked on the floorIllusion never changedInto something realI'm wide awake and I can seeThe perfect sky is tornYou're a little late, I'm already torn

(I'm already torn)

He started walking to the corner of the stage right to my direction. I could've swore he was going towards me-- no, snap it!

There's nothing where she used to lieMy inspiration has run dryThat's what's going onNothing's right, I'm tornI'm all out of faithThis is how I feelI'm cold and I am shamedLying naked on this floorIllusion never changedInto something realI'm wide awake and I can seeThe perfect sky is tornI'm all out of faithThis is how I feelI'm cold and I'm ashamedBound and broken on the floorYou're a little late, I'm already torn

Torn...

And just like that, the audience went berserk then, one thing he did, he stared straightly into my eyes, smiled and waved at me.

He waved at me.

Last thing I knew was that I blacked out.
