chapter sixteen

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Ugh I absolutely hate science." Kenzie ranted as her and Annie walked into the courtyard.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Same." Annie agreed, rolling her dark brown eyes. The pair had just had biology and had to dissect a pig's heart.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"And they make us do it right before lunch!" Kenzie complained. Her honey eyes landed on their table in the courtyard and she narrowed them, walking in a fast pace towards it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Johnny." She snapped. "What are you doing!?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah this is our table." Annie added.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The boy sat carelessly on the top of the table, a cigarette in his dry mouth, he blew out some smoke.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Mackenzie I need to speak to you." He breathed. "Alone." He added, his eyes fixating on Annie. She took a big sigh and walked away. Kenzie crossed her arms.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What do you want Johnny?" She grimaced, his name bringing her disgust. He clenched his jaw.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I heard you were going to the dance with Zack." He spoke, his voice tinging with jealousy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah." Kenzie told. "Why do you care." She shot.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny looked at her and shrugged. 'No reason." He began. "It's just I didn't think you would settle for someone as boring as Zack." He finished, his eyes cold.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie let out a laugh. "I would take Zack over you any day."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny tilted his head. "Maybe any day, but you'd come to me every night." He whispered, moving his face closer to hers. Kenzie bit her lip.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You're disgusting and I hate you." She shot.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny smirked. "Then why are you staring at my lips?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie blinked, shaking her head. "I think you're jealous." She stated.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Of what?" Johnny chuckled. "Of your major downgrade from Brandon, while he's off upgrading with your older sister."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie gasped, she couldn't believe he would say that. Her eyes were burning in flames. She turned around and began to storm away. Johnny leant his head back and groaned.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Wait." He called, grabbing Kenzie's arm. "Don't go to the dance with him." He spilled. Kenzie stopped for a moment and silence filled the air. She softened her gaze.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Why?" She asked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because." Johnny murmured.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie shook her head. "Because what?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because you don't want to." He spoke.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie sighed, looking down, tears tinged at the corners of her eyes, she prayed for him to utter those three words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"No." She gulped. "No, that's not enough."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny furrowed his brows, he couldn't let her go with Zack, but he would never show his soft side. He felt vulnerable, unprotected, he had to protect himself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because if you do I'll tell everyone we had sex." He threatened. "Twice."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie looked at him, her stare hardening again, she narrowed her gaze and smirked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You have no evidence, and who do you think they're gonna believe?" Her tone was as cold as ice and she turned around to walk away once more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"This isn't over!" Johnny yelled.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She flipped her head around, a sea of brown curls following. "Yes Johnny, it is."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀✨⭐️✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀[ a/n okay so im going away to austrailia for a week and i wont have time to write. theres 5 more chapters left i think, so do you want me to finish them all off today and post them all or do you want to wait till i get back and then i'll write them and post them one a day like i usually do ? ]
