Jungkook's heart felt like it dropped the second he stepped into the delivery room.

The bright, sterile lights, the frantic but controlled movement of the nurses and doctors, the sound of machines beeping steadily—it all became background noise the moment his eyes landed on you. You were there on the hospital bed, sweat glistening on your forehead, your face contorted in pain as another contraction hit you. His stomach twisted seeing you like that.

He rushed to your side immediately, and without hesitation, you grabbed his hand—tight. Your fingers gripped his so fiercely it nearly hurt, but he didn't flinch. He welcomed the pressure, grounding himself in it, letting you squeeze every bit of him if it meant helping you through the pain.

Your scream cut through the air and Jungkook's chest tightened. He had never seen you like this—so raw, so vulnerable, so strong. Every sound you made, every breath you fought to take, it broke him and built him all at once. He leaned in, pressing his forehead to yours for a brief second, whispering through shaky breath, "I'm right here. I've got you. You're doing so well."

You cried out again, back arching slightly from the effort, and he held you tighter, not daring to let go. He watched you push through the pain, your strength unfathomable. His eyes glossed over, fighting the lump in his throat as you brought your child into the world.

And then—after what felt like hours in a matter of minutes—the room filled with the first cries of your baby. Jungkook gasped softly, eyes wide and heart full, as the doctor held up the tiny, crying newborn.

But even then, he didn't let go of your hand. Not until he was sure you were okay. Not until he knew it was over, and that everything you both had been waiting for was finally, beautifully here.

Jungkook could barely breathe as he watched the doctor lift your baby—his baby—into their hands, his heart hammering in his chest like it was about to burst.

The newborn let out a sharp, loud cry, lungs strong and full of life. Jungkook froze for a moment, overcome with awe. His jaw slack, eyes wide as the doctor carefully brought the baby to the warmer, gently placing him on a small, heated surface beneath bright lights.

A nurse moved swiftly, wrapping the baby in a soft hospital blanket, gently wiping away the fluids, while another checked his vitals, measured his tiny body, and softly called out the weight and length.

"Three-point-five kilograms," she said, looking back at Jungkook with a small smile. "He's healthy."

Jungkook could barely hear her over the rush of blood in his ears. He could only see the little boy squirming in the blanket, his fists curled, his face red from crying—so small and yet so powerful.

The doctor moved efficiently, finishing up the checks and making sure the baby was breathing well before gently swaddling him tighter and bringing him back over.

Jungkook didn't even realize he was still gripping your hand until the doctor smiled and said, "Would you like to hold your son?"

His world seemed to still at those words. Son. He looked at you, your tired, tear-streaked face glowing with relief and joy, and then back to the bundle being offered to him.

He nodded slowly, stepping forward with trembling hands.

Jungkook's heart dropped the second the nurse carefully placed the baby into his arms.

It was like time paused.

The weight was so light—delicate—barely anything at all, yet it felt heavier than the world. His arms instinctively curved, cradling the tiny swaddled bundle close to his chest. His breath hitched as he slowly looked down, eyes scanning every inch of the newborn's face.

So small. So perfect.

A tiny button nose, flushed pink cheeks, and barely-there lashes resting over his scrunched-up eyes. His lips were pursed in a slight pout, brows furrowed as if already deep in thought. His dark hair was damp and soft, matted slightly against his tiny forehead. One small hand peeked out from the blanket, fingers curled in a fist no bigger than Jungkook's thumb.

Jungkook swallowed hard, a tear slipping silently down his cheek as he stared, completely overwhelmed. "He's... he's so beautiful," he whispered, his voice cracking. He rocked ever so gently, not wanting to move too much, terrified of even breathing too loud.

The baby gave a soft sound—almost like a sigh—and Jungkook's entire soul caved in. He looked over at you, still gripping your hand, your tired eyes watching him through a hazy smile.

"I'm holding our son," he breathed out, like he still couldn't believe it. "He's here."

Your eyes were heavy, puffy from the tears and exhaustion, vision slightly blurred as the adrenaline slowly faded from your body. You could barely lift your arms, body drained and aching in places you didn't even know could ache. All you wanted was sleep—but then you heard the soft, sleepy coos of your baby in Jungkook's arms.

You turned your head slightly, your heart fluttering at the sight. Jungkook, with tears still clinging to his lashes, cradled the baby like he was the most fragile thing in the world. And then his eyes met yours—warm, awestruck, and full of emotion you could feel without needing words.

"Come here," he whispered softly, stepping closer, his voice like a warm blanket. "Let's let you meet him properly."

Your mother and Jungkook's mother were already at your sides before you could say anything, gently helping you sit up just enough, fluffing pillows behind you and steadying your back.

Jungkook leaned down, slowly lowering the baby into your arms with the utmost care, guiding your hands to support the little head and body.

The moment your baby touched your chest, something in you snapped awake. Your breath caught, eyes welling with fresh tears as you looked down at the tiny face pressed to you, already calming in your warmth.

Your baby. Yours.

He made a soft noise, and instinctively, your arms curled tighter, adjusting him protectively.

You looked up at Jungkook, who was kneeling beside the bed now, hand on your knee, eyes locked on the two of you with a trembling smile.

"I can't believe we made him," you whispered.

Jungkook nodded, voice thick. "He's perfect... just like you."

You looked at Jungkook, his eyes already full of awe and emotion, then slowly turned your gaze back to the tiny life resting in your arms. Every little feature—his delicate nose, the barely-there lashes, the pout of his lips—felt like something familiar, like a piece of your heart now living outside your body.

And then, as you stared down at him, it hit you. So clearly. As if it had been waiting all along for this exact moment.

"Jaehyun," you whispered, the name falling from your lips like a secret you'd been keeping even from yourself.

Jungkook's head lifted, blinking in surprise as he looked between you and the baby. "Jaehyun?" he repeated, softly, tasting the name on his tongue.

You nodded slowly, voice shaky but sure. "Jeon Jaehyun."

Jungkook froze for a second, his eyes flicking up to meet yours, searching your expression. Then a slow, emotional smile tugged at his lips, like his heart just melted all over again. "Jeon Jaehyun..." he repeated, voice barely audible as he looked down at the baby in your arms. "It's perfect."

The room seemed to fall still for a second, like the name itself wrapped around your little family, sealing it.

Jaehyun .

Tiny. Loved. Home.

You felt it creeping in—the exhaustion pulling at your muscles, your eyelids growing heavier with each passing second. But no matter how tired you were, you couldn't bring yourself to let go of Jaehyun. His tiny weight on your chest grounded you, warmed you, made everything else in the world blur out.

Your fingers curled protectively around his soft blanket, and your thumb gently rubbed along the side of his tiny arm as he slept peacefully.

Jungkook, sitting beside you and watching the whole thing unfold, noticed right away. His gaze lingered on your tired face, the way your body fought to stay upright, your arms still wrapped so tightly around Jaehyun like letting go might break the spell.

He leaned closer, brushing the hair from your face as he whispered, "Y/n... you need to rest."

You shook your head weakly, your voice barely audible. "I don't want to let him go..."

"I know," he said, gently cupping your cheek. "You don't have to for long. Just let me hold him while you rest. He's not going anywhere—I promise."

Still hesitant, you looked down at Jaehyun once more. Then you slowly nodded, trusting him.

Jungkook carefully slipped his arms underneath yours, his movements slow and tender. As he lifted Jaehyun into his chest, the baby barely stirred, only making a soft, sleepy noise as he adjusted into his father's warmth.

You watched them for a second—your heart full and aching at the same time—before finally leaning back into the pillows.

"Thank you..." you whispered.

Jungkook looked down at Jaehyun, then back at you. "Thank you for him."

The soft chorus of sniffles echoed gently through the quiet hospital room, and when you glanced over, your heart tugged at the sight—both your mother and Jungkook's mother stood side by side, hands covering their mouths, eyes glassy and full of emotion.

They didn't say anything, but they didn't have to. The way they looked at you, at Jaehyun, said everything.

Jungkook looked between them and smiled softly. With the baby still nestled against his chest, he slowly walked over, careful not to disturb Jaehyun's sleep. He glanced at you once, silently checking if you were okay, and when you gave him a tired nod, he turned toward his mother first.

"Here," he said gently, offering her the baby.

Her eyes widened as her hands came up automatically, catching Jaehyun like he was the most precious thing she'd ever held. A tear rolled down her cheek the second she cradled him against her chest, her thumb brushing over his cheek.

Your mother, overwhelmed and emotional, leaned in to look at him closer, her own hand covering her mouth as she choked back another sob.

"Oh my god," she whispered, her voice trembling, "he's perfect..."

You watched them both, your weak smile growing, heart full despite how drained you were. "He's got his whole village already," you whispered, eyes flickering to Jungkook as he returned to your side.

He nodded, watching them, his hand reaching for yours. "And it's the best one."

Jungkook turned back to you, his gaze softening instantly the moment his eyes landed on your face. You were already halfway drifting off, exhaustion finally starting to pull you under, but you still managed a faint smile when he leaned down toward you.

He brushed a few strands of hair away from your damp forehead, his touch impossibly gentle. Then, he pressed a soft kiss to your temple, lingering there for a moment like he was trying to memorize the feel of your skin against his lips.

His hand slid to cradle your cheek as he leaned down again, this time pressing a tender kiss to your lips—slow, warm, and full of every unspoken word. "You did so well," he whispered against your mouth. "I'm so proud of you."

You could barely mumble a reply, your eyes fluttering closed, but he could see the peace in your expression.

Jungkook tucked the blanket around you carefully, making sure you were completely warm and comfortable before sitting back in the chair beside your bed. He kept one hand gently resting on your arm, refusing to let go, his thumb brushing against your skin soothingly.

"Sleep, baby," he murmured, eyes never leaving you. "I've got you."

Jungkook looked up from your sleeping form, his gaze drifting to the other side of the room where his mother and yours stood shoulder to shoulder, softly rocking Jaehyun in their arms. The two women were utterly captivated—cooing gently, their voices hushed, eyes never leaving the baby's face.

"He looks just like Jungkook when he was born," his mother whispered, eyes sparkling with emotion.

Your mother nodded in agreement, her finger gently tracing Jaehyun's tiny hand. "But the mouth—that's definitely Y/n's," she said with a teary smile, laughing softly when Jaehyun made a little pout in his sleep.

Jungkook's lips tugged into a quiet smile as he watched them. It was surreal—seeing both sides of your family bonding over this tiny human you'd created together.

Just then, the door opened with a gentle knock. The doctor walked in silently, clipboard in hand, voice low and professional to avoid disturbing you.

"How's mom doing?" the doctor asked Jungkook, offering him a kind glance.

Jungkook stood up from his seat a little, voice hushed. "She's resting now. She was in a lot of pain, but she's okay."

The doctor nodded. "That's good. She did incredible. We'll do another check-up soon, but right now she just needs sleep—and plenty of fluids."

He glanced over at the baby being passed so delicately between the grandmothers. "And this little guy's perfectly healthy. Strong lungs, good weight, everything looks great."

Jungkook let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "Thank you. Really."

The doctor gave him a knowing smile before quietly stepping out again, leaving the room full of warmth, quiet whispers, and the soft, steady rhythm of everything finally falling into place.

Your mother turned to Jungkook as she gently rocked Jaehyun in her arms, her voice warm but still slightly emotional. "I packed some food for when Y/n wakes up. She'll need it," she said softly, brushing her thumb along Jaehyun's cheek before glancing at Jungkook. "But tell me... how was it for you? Watching her give birth?"

Jungkook blinked like he had to process the question again, his expression shifting slightly as he leaned back in the chair beside your bed. "Honestly?" he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "I thought I was prepared. I thought I could handle anything..."

He looked at you sleeping peacefully and then back at your mother, eyes a little wide. "But that? That was intense. She was in so much pain, and there was nothing I could do except hold her hand. I swear I've never felt more useless and proud at the same time."

Your mother gave him a small, knowing smile. "It's like watching someone become something more, isn't it?"

Jungkook nodded slowly, still clearly shaken but in awe. "She was already everything to me, but now... watching her bring our son into the world? I don't even have words for it."

Your mother laughed softly, eyes shining. "You looked like you were going to cry the whole time."

"I did cry," he admitted, chuckling under his breath. "And my hand's probably bruised from how hard she squeezed it—but I'd do it all over again just to see Jaehyun in her arms."

His voice quieted then, his gaze falling to you once more—still asleep, peaceful, your chest rising and falling steadily under the soft blanket.

"She's amazing," he whispered, almost to himself.

And your mother nodded, holding Jaehyun close. "She always has been."

Jungkook's mother looked at him with a soft but knowing expression, her eyes twinkling slightly as she asked, "So, are you going to propose to her?"

Jungkook blinked, clearly taken off guard by the question. His gaze flickered to you, peacefully resting, before he looked back at his mother, a mixture of surprise and uncertainty on his face. "Propose?" he repeated, as though he hadn't quite processed the question yet.

She smiled gently, her voice warm but serious. "You have a son together now, Jungkook. You've been through a lot, and I can see how much you both love each other. Don't you think it's the next step?"

Jungkook ran a hand through his hair, a little nervous. "I... I don't know. I never really thought about it like that."

His mother's expression softened, and she placed a hand on his arm, squeezing it lightly. "She's been through so much, brought your little boy into this world. Don't you think she deserves that kind of commitment?"

Jungkook hesitated, glancing back at you with a tenderness in his eyes, then back to his mother. "I mean, yeah, I've always known I wanted to be with her. It just... feels a bit overwhelming right now, you know?"

She smiled knowingly. "Of course, but that doesn't mean it isn't the right time. She deserves to hear those words from you."

Jungkook's heart raced a little, but he smiled, his thoughts swirling. "I know. I've been so caught up in everything else, I haven't really thought about how I want to show her that I'm here for her, always."

His mother chuckled softly. "Well, when the time's right, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Just don't wait too long, alright?"

Jungkook nodded slowly, a soft smile spreading across his face. "Yeah, I'll think about it." His gaze softened as he looked back at you, and there was a sense of certainty in his eyes that wasn't there before. "She means everything to me."

As Jungkook's mother and your mother continued cooing over the baby, you all suddenly noticed something—Jaehyun's tiny eyelids fluttered, and before anyone could fully process it, his doe-like eyes slowly opened. They were big, dark, and soft, just like Jungkook's.

Your mother gasped softly, her eyes twinkling as she looked at the baby. "Look at those eyes!" she said with a smile, "He has your eyes, Jungkook. Strong genes, huh?"

Jungkook couldn't help but laugh, his chest swelling with pride as he leaned in closer, his heart melting at the sight of Jaehyun's gaze locking onto his. "I guess so," he said softly, his voice thick with emotion. "He really is mine, huh?"

Your mother grinned, teasing lightly. "Oh, no doubt. He's got the best of both of you."

Jungkook chuckled, his fingers lightly brushing Jaehyun's tiny hand as he gazed at him, entranced by the baby's calm, innocent expression. "Yeah," he murmured, "I think he does."

Jungkook stood there, watching Jaehyun, his heart swelling with emotions he hadn't even known he could feel. As he looked down at the baby, it suddenly hit him—he was a father. A father to his child. The child who shared his blood, his genes, and his future. The overwhelming reality of it all washed over him, a mix of excitement and awe.

His heart raced at the thought of it—this tiny, precious life was his, something he could claim as his own. He had never felt this kind of joy before, not in any fight, any achievement, or any moment of his life. This was different. This was real. This was family.

He looked at you, exhausted but beautiful, and everything seemed to fall into place. In that moment, he realized just how much love he had for both you and Jaehyun. He had never imagined himself in this role, but now that he was here, he couldn't imagine anything else. His life had changed forever, and for the first time in a long time, he felt more complete than he ever thought possible.

Jungkook gently brushed his fingers over Jaehyun's tiny hand, his heart full of dreams for this little boy. He could already see it—being there for him, teaching him, guiding him, and loving him with everything he had. This was just the beginning, and Jungkook couldn't wait to dive in, headfirst, into this new chapter of his life.

The soft sound of your breath, steady and gentle, was the only thing that filled the quiet hospital room. Hours had passed, and Jungkook hadn't moved an inch from your side, his eyes never leaving you as he sat by your bed, a protective hand resting gently over yours. His heart had not calmed since the birth, the overwhelming joy and responsibility of being a father weighing on him in the most beautiful way.

As time passed, the room fell into a peaceful silence, but then, you shifted in the bed, your body moving slightly, a faint groan escaping your lips as you stirred. You blinked your eyes open, the world around you still blurry from the exhaustion and the sleep that had wrapped you in its embrace.

You felt weak, your muscles sore, your body still recovering from the intensity of childbirth. But as you looked around, the first thing you saw was Jungkook's face, his gaze instantly softening as he noticed that you were awake.

"Y/n," he whispered, his voice filled with relief and love. He gently leaned forward, his hand brushing over your hair, checking for any signs of discomfort. "You're awake. How are you feeling?"

You blinked a few more times, your vision focusing on him. "Tired..." you murmured, your voice still raspy. You could feel the remnants of the pain, but it was nothing compared to the overwhelming peace you felt having him here.

Jungkook smiled softly, his thumb lightly caressing the back of your hand. "I'm here. Don't worry. Just rest now."

You managed a small smile, your heart warmed by his words, but a tired yawn escaped you as your body asked for more rest. Jungkook remained right beside you, watching over you, never once leaving your side.

You stretched, still feeling the lingering fatigue from the day before, but there was a warmth in your chest knowing that today was a new day, and you had your baby and Jungkook by your side.

Jungkook's voice broke through your thoughts, soft and comforting as he gently nudged you awake, holding a plate of food. "Y/n, breakfast is ready. You need to eat something, okay?"

You blinked, trying to gather your bearings as your eyes shifted around the room. The faint morning light peeked through the hospital window, casting a soft glow across the room.

"Where's Jaehyun?" you asked quietly, still a bit dazed from waking up. You felt a strong pull to see your son, to hold him again after such a long night.

Jungkook's gaze softened as he looked toward the crib a few meters away, where Jaehyun was peacefully sleeping. "He's still asleep," Jungkook said, his voice gentle and full of affection. "I didn't want to wake him just yet. You need rest too, you know."

You looked over at the crib, your heart swelling with love as you saw your baby, so small and perfect, curled up in his blanket. The sight made you smile softly.

"Thank you for bringing me breakfast," you said, reaching out for the plate he offered. "But I need to see him, even if it's just for a moment."

Jungkook nodded, understanding how much you wanted to be close to Jaehyun. "Of course," he said, sitting beside you on the bed as you carefully balanced the plate on your lap. "But take it easy. We've got plenty of time to be together, and I'll be right here with you."

You took a bite, savoring the warmth of your mother's cooking, but your eyes never left Jaehyun's crib. You couldn't wait to hold him again, to see his beautiful face up close.

Jungkook chuckled, his eyes gleaming with pride as he glanced at Jaehyun. "My mom said the baby looks just like me," he said, a teasing grin forming on his face. "I guess he's got my genes."

You smiled, glancing down at Jaehyun, who was peacefully sleeping. "I can see it," you agreed, your voice soft. "He definitely has your eyes."

Jungkook's smile widened, and he leaned in closer, his voice playful. "You mean he's got the best eyes, right?"

You laughed lightly, nodding. "Definitely," you replied, your heart full. "He's perfect."

Jungkook's expression softened, and he gazed at Jaehyun with so much love. "I'm glad he looks like me. But I hope he gets your kindness and your strength."

Your smile grew wider as you reached out, gently holding Jaehyun's tiny hand. "He'll have the best of both of us," you said, feeling your heart swell with love for both of them.

Jungkook nodded, his eyes never leaving his son. "I'm so proud of him. And of us."

You looked up at Jungkook, your eyes filled with anticipation. "When do we get to go home?" you asked, your voice soft but excited.

Jungkook smiled, brushing a lock of hair from your face. "Soon," he replied, his voice filled with warmth. "Just need to check on Jaehyun and make sure everything's good with you. A few more tests, and then we can head home."

The excitement bubbled inside you at the thought of being back at home with your little family. "I can't wait," you said, a smile spreading across your face. "I'm so ready to start this new chapter with you both."

Jungkook squeezed your hand gently, his expression softening as he looked at you. "Me too," he said, his voice filled with love and relief. "We're going to make a great family."

You smiled, feeling your heart swell with joy. Soon, you'd be going home with Jaehyun, starting this new journey together.

You made a shocked face, quickly scanning the room as if it had vanished into thin air. "Wait, where's my phone?" you asked, a hint of panic in your voice.

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, handing it to you with a curious look. "Here," he said, wondering what was going on. "Why, what's up?"

You took the phone from him, your excitement growing. "I need to tell Mina and Yoongi!" you said, your eyes lighting up. "I want to FaceTime them at the same time and show them Jaehyun!"

Jungkook smiled, amused by how eager you were. "Alright, alright," he said, nodding in understanding. "Go ahead, I know they'll be so happy to see him."

As soon as you FaceTimed the group chat, Somi and Yoongi answered quickly, their faces filled with concern. "What's wrong? Why are you in the hospital?" Somi asked, her voice laced with worry as she scanned your tired face.

You smiled softly, holding the phone steady and turning it to reveal the crib next to you. "Everything's fine," you said, your voice full of warmth and joy. "I just wanted to show you both something."

Their expressions shifted from concern to excitement when they saw the crib, and they practically jumped out of their seats. "Wait... is that...?" Yoongi started, his eyes wide with disbelief.

You nodded, a proud smile spreading across your face. "Yes, this is Jaehyun," you whispered, your heart full of love. "Our baby."

You showed them pictures of him, the small baby wrapped in a blanket, his doe eyes just like Jungkook's. Somi gasped, "He's so precious!" Her excitement was contagious, and Yoongi couldn't help but smile, his usual stoic demeanor softening. "He looks just like Jungkook," Yoongi added with a chuckle.

You nodded, "Yeah, that's what they keep saying. His name is Jaehyun."

The two of them gushed with happiness, sending you a flurry of heart emojis and well-wishes. "He's going to be so loved," Somi said, her voice soft and filled with joy. "Congratulations, you guys!"

Yoongi added, "We need to meet him soon."

The warmth in their voices made you feel even more grateful for your close friends, and you couldn't help but smile. "You will," you promised, feeling overwhelmed with love for your new little family.

You smiled softly as the call ended, the screen going dark. The room felt quiet again, warm and calm compared to the excited chatter from the group chat. You set your phone aside, your eyes lingering on the crib for a moment longer before turning to Jungkook.

He was already holding the plate of food your mother had packed, carefully scooping up a bite and holding it out to you with a fond look. "Open," he said teasingly.

You rolled your eyes but leaned in anyway, letting him feed you. "You know I can eat by myself," you mumbled with a small smile.

"Yeah, but you don't have to," he replied, brushing a loose strand of hair behind your ear gently. "Just focus on getting your strength back."

You chewed quietly, your eyes soft as you watched him. He looked so different, yet so familiar—like he'd stepped fully into this role as a father without missing a beat. The way he looked at you, how he moved around you, how he checked on Jaehyun every few minutes—it made your heart feel full.

"You're really good at this, you know," you whispered, after swallowing.

He smirked playfully but there was a hint of emotion behind his eyes. "I had a good reason to grow up."

As you finished eating, Jungkook leaned in with a gentle smile, wiping the corner of your mouth with a tissue. "Can't have you looking messy in front of our son," he teased softly, his tone light and affectionate.

Just then, the nurse knocked lightly and entered with a warm smile. "Good morning, Y/n. Just going to check on you and the little one."

You nodded, adjusting slightly as she checked your breathing, then took your blood pressure. Jungkook watched silently, eyes focused as if mentally ticking every step off a checklist. Once she was done with you, she made her way to Jaehyun's crib, checking his vitals too before pulling out a small, warmed baby bottle.

She looked over her shoulder, eyes bright. "Would you like to feed him?"

Your heart swelled. "Yes, I'd love to."

Jungkook quickly stood, helping adjust your pillows and making sure you were comfortable. The nurse carefully handed Jaehyun to you, his small body warm and light in your arms. You held the bottle gently to his mouth, watching in awe as he latched on, his little hands twitching and his eyes fluttering closed.

Jungkook sat beside you again, resting a hand on your arm, eyes locked on the sight in front of him. "You're a natural," he whispered, a softness in his voice that made your chest tighten with emotion.

You smiled, never looking away from Jaehyun. "He's perfect."

And in that quiet moment, the world seemed to slow—just you, Jungkook, and the tiny heartbeat now nestled safely in your arms.

Jungkook couldn't help himself—his hand quietly slipped into his pocket, pulling out his phone. He angled it subtly at first, recording the gentle way you cradled Jaehyun, your fingers wrapped delicately around the tiny bottle.

The soft lighting from the hospital window cast a glow over you, making the moment look even more serene. "You look so beautiful," he mumbled, barely loud enough for you to hear.

You noticed the camera and immediately tried to hide, letting your hair fall to one side and tilting your head down to shield your face. "Jungkook," you whispered with a shy pout, "don't record me like this..."

He only smiled, snapping a photo of you exactly like that—hair falling, a blush rising in your cheeks, and Jaehyun curled in your arms. "Like what? Like a mom? My favorite version of you?"

You gave him a small look, trying not to melt, but you couldn't stop the smile forming on your lips as he continued to take short videos, capturing every blink, every quiet sigh, every second of you two together.

"This one's for me," he said softly, lowering the phone. "So I don't ever forget how lucky I am."

The nurse lingered for a moment, watching the soft scene with a warm smile before she let out a quiet coo. "You two look like a perfect little family," she said sweetly, clasping her hands together. "He's a lucky baby."

You looked up briefly, cheeks still slightly pink from Jungkook's filming, and gave her a small, appreciative smile. Jungkook nodded politely, his arm now draped protectively behind your back on the bed.

She bowed politely. "The doctor will be in soon to check on both of you. Everything looks good so far." With that, she stepped out of the room, gently closing the door behind her, leaving behind only the soft hush of the hospital room and the tiny breaths of your sleeping baby.

Jungkook leaned in, whispering against your temple, "I think she's right. We are kind of perfect like this."

Your eyes stayed focused on Jaehyun, watching the way his tiny fingers curled around the blanket. "Why do they keep checking me though?" you asked softly, brows furrowing. "I feel okay... why won't they just let us leave already?"

Jungkook shifted beside you, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh..." he started, glancing at you, then at the door. "Well, they just... want to make sure everything's really okay, y'know? Post-birth stuff, routine checks."

You turned your head to him, a little suspicious. "That sounds vague."

He gave you a sheepish smile, leaning in to press a soft kiss to your cheek. "Okay, maybe... maybe your mom might've told them to keep you in just a little longer. She's worried. Said she doesn't want you lifting a finger too soon." He chuckled under his breath. "I think she's secretly working with the staff."

You let out a light scoff, shaking your head. "Unbelievable."

"She just wants you and Jaehyun safe," Jungkook added, slipping his hand over yours. "But hey, I'm not complaining about having you both to myself a little longer."

Jungkook's smile faltered for the briefest moment as you turned your attention back to Jaehyun. He looked at you—so peaceful, finally recovering, skin still pale but glowing in a way he couldn't describe—and he swallowed hard.

The truth was... it wasn't just your mother being overprotective.

He lied.

Only because he remembered. The moment you gave birth—your screams, the pain in your voice, the sheer amount of blood. He remembered how your grip on his hand weakened for a second too long. How the doctor's expression turned serious, the nurses suddenly moving faster. How one of them whispered something about possible hemorrhaging. They didn't say it out loud, didn't want to panic him, but he saw it all. The rush. The uncertainty.

They'd stabilized you quickly, thank God—but the fear from that moment stayed with him.

So when the doctor said they wanted to keep you a little longer, monitor everything... he agreed. Pushed for it, even. But he couldn't bring himself to tell you. Not now. Not when you were smiling again, cradling your son with that soft look in your tired eyes.

He reached out, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear gently, masking the flicker of worry in his gaze.

"I just want you to rest a little more," he whispered, kissing your temple. "You deserve it, okay?"

And even if the memory haunted him, the most important thing now was that you were safe. You and Jaehyun.

The door creaked open softly, and the doctor stepped in, giving a polite bow. You looked up from Jaehyun, tired but still smiling, not suspecting anything as the doctor's eyes briefly met Jungkook's.

"Jeon-ssi," the doctor said gently, "May I speak with you outside for a moment?"

Jungkook stood, giving your hand a light squeeze. "I'll be right back," he said, brushing his thumb over your knuckles before slipping out of the room.

The hallway felt colder.

The doctor's expression sobered as they pulled out the clipboard. "She's stable," they assured first, sensing Jungkook's tension immediately. "The bleeding was heavier than average during delivery. You remember—there was concern about a possible hemorrhage. We managed to control it, but her hemoglobin levels dropped significantly."

Jungkook nodded slowly, his jaw clenched.

"We're running bloodwork again to check how she's recovering. So far, she's responding well. If things stay stable for another 24 hours, we'll start preparing her for discharge. But if she pushes herself too hard... we may have to monitor her longer."

Jungkook exhaled through his nose, rubbing his palm over his face. "Don't tell her. Please," he said. "She's been through enough. Just let me be the one to make sure she rests."

The doctor gave a small, understanding nod. "We'll keep it between us. But keep a close eye. She's strong—but her body needs time."

Jungkook bowed in thanks, heart still pounding as he made his way back to the room. He paused for a second outside the door, then walked in with a soft smile like nothing had happened.

You looked up at him immediately, your eyes curious.

"What did they say?" As you checked to make sure Jaehyun was asleep in his crib.

Jungkook leaned down to kiss your forehead, his voice calm and warm, "Just that you're recovering well... and that we can probably go home soon."

"You should sleep" He says softly tucking you in.

Jungkook sat quietly beside your bed, eyes tracing over your resting form—your soft breaths, the faint color in your cheeks, the way your fingers stayed curled near the baby as if protecting him even in sleep. He held onto your hand gently, careful not to wake you, but not ready to let go either.

He swallowed hard, the image of the delivery room still burned into his mind—your screams, the blood, the panic in the doctor's eyes before they steadied themselves. He had never felt fear like that. Not even in the ring, not even when life had knocked him down before. Nothing compared to the gut-wrenching thought that he could lose you.

His thumb brushed over your knuckles, slow and steady. If he could've taken your place, he would've. Without question.

You were everything. You gave him a reason to want more out of life—now, with Jaehyun, that feeling had only deepened. He had always thought of himself as strong, but nothing made him feel more powerless than watching you fight through that pain.

"I love you," he whispered so quietly, like the words weren't meant to disturb even the air around you. "I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you."

He looked over at Jaehyun, sleeping peacefully in the crib, and then back at you.

For both of you... I'd do anything. If his chest was tight with worry—he made sure his smile stayed for you.

Jungkook's phone vibrated on the nightstand, the soft buzz cutting through the quiet hum of the hospital room. He looked down, reluctantly letting go of your hand. His heart sank a little seeing the name flash on the screen: Manager Hyunwoo.

With a sigh, he stood up and stepped a bit away from you and the crib, answering in a hushed voice."Hyung..."

"Jungkook, listen—before you hang up," his manager's voice came through, rushed, hopeful, almost desperate. "I know, I know you're on leave. I know you're busy with your girl and the baby—congratulations by the way—but I need you. Really need you. This Christmas event? It's huge. International eyes. Big money. Your name's still magic in the boxing world."

Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck, glancing over at you again as you slept peacefully, Jaehyun's little body rising and falling with his baby breaths.

"I told you already. Soon," he said, voice firm but tired. "But right now? I've got more important things to focus on."

"But Jungkook, this fight—it's a one-time thing. Lifetime opportunity. They asked for you personally. It's just one match. One night. You win this, your name will be immortal in the sport, and the money—"

"I don't care about the money," Jungkook cut in sharply, then softened his tone. "I'm not saying no forever, hyung. Just... not now."

There was a pause on the other end. A sigh.

"You're serious about her, huh?"

Jungkook's eyes lingered on your face again. His chest tightened.

"I've never been more serious about anything."

There was a silence on the other end of the line, and then Manager Hyunwoo's voice returned—this time more calculated, trying to work an angle.

"Okay... okay," he said, trying to keep Jungkook hooked. "Then bring her. Bring the baby. Make it your story. You step in the ring as a father. As a man with something bigger to fight for. The media will eat that up. You win, you hold the belt and your baby in the same moment. It'll go viral. A real comeback. A gift—to your fans, to your future."

Jungkook's brows furrowed. The thought pulled at something deep in him. There was a certain power to that image. Him in the ring, holding Jaehyun in one arm, hand wrapped around a championship belt with the other. A moment he could tell his son about one day.

But still, he looked down at you. Pale from the blood loss, curled gently beneath the hospital blanket. You were still healing. And Jaehyun... he was barely a day old.

"Hyung..." Jungkook said, his voice low. "I'll think about it. That's all I can promise for now."

"Alright," Hyunwoo replied quickly, knowing he had at least cracked the door open. "That's all I ask. Think about it."

Jungkook hung up and returned to your side, brushing his thumb along your knuckles. He'd think about it—but only if it didn't come at the cost of what mattered most: you and Jaehyun.

Jungkook sat back down, fingers gently tracing yours as you slept, the phone now resting silently beside him. The call echoed in his mind, but not as much as the image of you—curled up peacefully, your hand still loosely holding onto his.

He knew you didn't like the spotlight. That you weren't the type to chase cameras or stand in front of flashing lights with a practiced smile. You liked peace. Quiet moments. Family over fame. And he respected that—loved that about you, actually.

But still... the thought of showing the world his child? Of holding Jaehyun in his arms, letting the world know this was his son, his blood, his heart—it made his chest swell with something deeper than pride.

And then there was you. God, if only you'd let him post a photo of you, even just once. Not staged. Not polished. Just you—the way you looked at him when you laughed, the way your nose crinkled when you got annoyed. He wanted people to know he was taken. To see the person who made him softer, stronger, whole.

But he'd never pressure you. Not now. Not ever.So instead, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to your temple, whispering so gently it barely made a sound, "If I could show them what I have... they'd all know how lucky I am."

His heart was full, but tangled. You were everything to him—more than everything—but he knew exactly how cruel the world could be.

He remembered what happened the last time.

She had everything going for her—a famous model, confident, stunning, already used to attention. But even then, that wasn't enough to shield her. His fans, the jealous ones, ripped her apart. Comment after comment, articles, edits, threats... the kind of poison that seeps in quietly and stays. It got to her. It got to him. And eventually, it was too much.Fans who claimed they loved him sent threats, tore her apart online, flooded her with messages that no one deserved. He remembered watching it unfold, helpless, furious... guilty.

And now, with you—it was different. You were different. You weren't chasing clout or attention, and maybe that was why he wanted to protect you even more. You didn't sign up for the criticism, the jealousy, the endless judgment from strangers who thought they owned a piece of him.

He'd seen the way you avoided attention, how even compliments from random people made you shy. How you kept your circle small, cherished your peace. He would never throw you into the same chaos his past brought.

That's why—even if he wanted to show you off, post you, scream your name from rooftops—he didn't.

Because no spotlight was worth losing the light you brought into his life. So he stayed quiet. Loving you in the private moments, in the way he looked at you like you were the only person in the room, in the way he held your hand a little tighter when you weren't feeling strong.

And maybe one day, if you ever said it was okay, he'd show the world. But until then, he was perfectly happy with the world not knowing what they were missing.

Getting up walking to the crib. Jungkook leaned over the crib, eyes softening as he gazed down at Jaehyun. The baby's tiny fingers twitched in his sleep, his pouty lips slightly parted, his long lashes casting the faintest shadows across his plump cheeks. He looked so peaceful... so small... so his.

His heart swelled in a way he never thought it could.

Careful not to wake him, Jungkook reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He took a slow breath, steadying his hand, not because it was shaking—but because this wasn't just any photo. This was the first photo. His son's first picture in his crib, wrapped in soft white fabric, his features gentle and calm, framed by the quiet glow of the hospital room.

He snapped it—once, twice—then zoomed in a little to capture Jaehyun's tiny nose, his chin that looked almost exactly like Jungkook's, and those soft tufts of black hair sticking up on the crown of his head.

He stared at the image afterward, thumb hovering over the screen. He didn't post it. Not yet. This one... this one was just for him. For now.

Something about that moment—watching his baby boy sleep while the love of his life rested just a few steps away—made him feel like the richest man in the world.

No cameras. No crowd. Just his family. And he wouldn't trade it for anything.

Waking up to the soft hum of hospital monitors and the faint winter light bleeding through the curtains wasn't exactly the Christmas morning you once imagined. No tree in sight, no warm cinnamon-scented kitchen or snow-glazed windows with carols in the background. But as your eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the sterile surroundings, you felt something warm, something real.

Your baby was sleeping peacefully in the crib beside you, little chest rising and falling with every breath. And just beside you, curled up awkwardly on the hospital couch, Jungkook—blanket half slipping off his shoulder, hair messy, but his face soft in sleep.

You smiled faintly, sore but content.

This wasn't the Christmas you planned... but it was the one that mattered.

You had your baby. You had Jungkook. And somehow, through all the pain, the unexpected turns, and the hospital walls—you felt full. Safe. Loved.

And that was more than enough.

Another day in the hospital passed quietly, the world outside moving fast, but your little bubble felt slow and soft. Jungkook moved around the room with gentle ease, adjusting your pillows, helping you sit up, offering you water and food with that soft look in his eyes that never seemed to fade since the moment Jaehyun was born.

You cradled your baby close, rocking him slightly while he fed, your heart full even through the exhaustion. Jungkook sat beside you, one hand resting on your leg, the other occasionally brushing Jaehyun's tiny head like he still couldn't believe he was real.

The door creaked open and a nurse peeked in with a smile, followed by the doctor who greeted you both cheerfully.

"Just checking in again," he said, walking over to your chart and scanning through your latest stats. "Vitals look good, healing's coming along nicely. Let's check on little Jaehyun now."

Jungkook helped you adjust the baby in your arms while the doctor gently checked his breathing, reflexes, and overall health. Jaehyun let out a small noise, squirming a little but calm as ever in your arms.

"Strong boy," the doctor smiled. "You'll both be ready to go home very soon."

You looked at Jungkook, who gave your knee a soft squeeze and smiled back.

Home sounded nice. But right now, even this little hospital room, with him and Jaehyun, felt like the safest place in the world.

Jungkook stood up, giving you one last reassuring look before stepping out with the doctor. The door clicked shut behind them, leaving you with the quiet sound of Jaehyun's soft breathing and the distant beeping of machines. You couldn't help but feel a small sense of peace, knowing Jungkook was there, making sure everything was okay.

Outside, Jungkook followed the doctor down the hall, the fluorescent lights overhead casting a cool glow. His hands were shoved in his pockets as they walked side by side.

"The bleeding has stopped, which is a good sign," the doctor said, glancing at Jungkook. "She's healing well, but she'll need to take it easy for a while longer. The doctors are just being cautious, making sure there aren't any complications from the birth."

Jungkook nodded, running a hand through his hair. "She's strong, she'll be fine. But you said it's good, right? That she's recovering well?"

"Yes, absolutely," the doctor confirmed, stopping to make a note on a clipboard. "She's doing better than expected. We'll just monitor her for a bit more, but it looks like you'll be able to take her home soon, once she gets her strength back."

Jungkook felt a weight lift off his shoulders, but the worry in his chest didn't completely disappear. He'd never stop worrying, especially about you and Jaehyun. Still, hearing the doctor's words made him feel a little better.

"Good. Thanks, doc," he said, offering a small smile.

The doctor gave him a nod, stepping back. "You're welcome. Just keep an eye on her, and don't hesitate to call us if anything feels off. We're here if you need us."

Jungkook walked back to the room, already thinking about how he could make sure you and Jaehyun were as comfortable as possible once you were home.

You carefully finished changing Jaehyun, adjusting his little onesie as you glanced over at Jungkook, who had just walked back into the room. You could feel the weight of the hospital room pressing on you, the sterile walls and the constant noise of machines. You wanted to go home, be with your baby in the comfort of your own space.

"Jungkook," you said, your voice a little tired, but you couldn't hide the frustration. "Why can't we go home? Another day in here, and I might just lose it."

He gave you a soft smile, but there was a flicker of concern in his eyes. He walked over, sitting next to you on the bed, gently brushing a strand of hair out of your face.

"They just want to make sure you're completely okay," he said quietly, looking at you with affection and a bit of worry. "The doctors are being cautious with everything. They just want to be sure that you and Jaehyun are both doing well. They're just making sure there are no complications."

You sighed, looking down at your baby, who was now settled in your arms. He looked so peaceful, and yet the thought of spending another night in the hospital felt suffocating. You just wanted to hold him in your own bed, have some normalcy again.

"I'm fine," you said softly. "I just want to go home."

Jungkook nodded, brushing his thumb over your hand. "I know you do. I want that too. But we'll be out of here soon. I promise. Just a little longer."

You leaned against him, grateful for his support, but your eyes lingered on Jaehyun as you held him. You didn't want to be in a place that felt like it was keeping you from truly bonding with him in your own space.

Jungkook sat down beside you, his gaze softening as he took in your appearance. His eyes softened with concern, though there was a small smile tugging at his lips.

"So," he started gently, "how are you feeling today?"

You smiled at him, the tiredness still evident in your eyes, but you tried to mask it with a reassuring look. You were dressed in fresh clothes that your mother had brought for you, and you had done your best to apply some light makeup, hoping to feel a little more like yourself after days in the hospital gown that you were so tired of.

"I'm okay," you said, your voice soft but steady. "I feel better now that I'm out of that hospital gown. Honestly, I've missed feeling like... myself. But, other than that, I'm doing alright."

Jungkook smiled, his thumb brushing the back of your hand, clearly relieved to hear you sound like yourself again. He couldn't help but notice the way your fresh clothes and makeup made you look a little more put together, though he also knew it had been a long couple of days.

"You look beautiful," he said, his voice full of admiration as he looked at you with a soft, loving expression. "And I'm glad you're feeling okay."

You chuckled lightly, feeling a warm rush spread through you at his words. Despite the exhaustion, having him by your side made everything seem a little brighter. You turned your attention to Jaehyun, who was still peacefully asleep in your arms.

"Thank you," you whispered, looking down at your baby. "I just want to get us both home now."

Jungkook's gaze softens as you lift up Jaehyun, showing him the little outfit you had carefully chosen. The soft white onesie looks adorable on him, the fabric snuggly and warm, perfect for the chilly hospital air. He can't help but smile, his heart swelling with pride and love as he watches his son, still so small but already showing signs of personality.

"He looks so peaceful in that," Jungkook says, voice full of warmth. He carefully reaches out to brush his fingers through Jaehyun's tiny strands of hair, noticing how much he already has. "Can you believe he's got so much hair already?" he adds with a soft laugh, clearly amazed by the little details.

Jungkook leans closer, his smile turning fond. "It's like he's trying to keep up with us," he jokes, clearly enchanted by his son's growth. You can tell just by the look in his eyes how much he treasures these moments, how deeply he's fallen in love with Jaehyun and the little family you've all become.

He gently kisses the top of Jaehyun's head, his voice soft and filled with emotion. "I'm so proud of him. Of you, too." His words come out quietly, as if he's trying to hold onto the beauty of the moment for just a little longer.

Jungkook smiles at you, his eyes filled with nothing but adoration as he watches you with Jaehyun. There's a tenderness in his gaze that shows how much he treasures both of you. "He's definitely a quiet one," he agrees, leaning down a little closer to get a better look at the baby. His hand rests on your shoulder, a comforting presence, as he softly watches Jaehyun, who looks up at him with those wide, bright eyes. "I think he's got your calmness."

You laugh softly, your heart swelling with pride as you gaze at your son. "Maybe. But honestly, I think he just likes his sleep," you tease, glancing at Jaehyun's peaceful, relaxed face. "Every time we try to wake him up, he just snoozes through it like it's no big deal."

Jungkook chuckles, his face lighting up with warmth and affection. "I don't mind that at all. A peaceful baby is a blessing." He runs his hand gently through Jaehyun's tiny tufts of hair, and you can't help but smile at the sight of them together, father and son, even in this quiet, intimate moment. "You both are perfect," Jungkook adds, his voice low and sincere, leaning in closer to place a soft kiss on your forehead. "I'm so lucky."

The way he says it, so full of love and gratitude, makes you feel even more connected to him, to this tiny family you've created. You squeeze his hand, a sense of peace washing over you as you look down at Jaehyun, the little one who is already starting to feel like the missing piece of your life.

You groan a little as you adjust your position, still feeling the remnants of your pregnancy. "I just hope this pregnancy stomach goes away soon," you complain, glancing down at your belly. "I loved it when I was carrying Jaehyun, but now... it's just so irritating."

Jungkook, noticing your frustration, gives you a soft smile as he sits beside you on the bed. "I get it, but you've been through a lot, Y/n. It takes time. You looked incredible carrying him, and now you're even more amazing," he reassures you, brushing a stray strand of hair away from your face.

You sigh, leaning back against the pillows, feeling a mix of love and frustration. "I just miss feeling... normal. It's hard to get used to."

He gently takes your hand, his thumb brushing over your skin. "I understand. But don't forget, you're still the same, and you're stronger than you think. Look at our little guy," he says, his gaze moving to Jaehyun, who's peacefully sleeping nearby. "You did all of that. You gave birth to him, and that's something no one can take away."

You smile weakly, feeling a sense of comfort in his words. "I know... but it's just... this extra weight and how my body feels now. I didn't expect to feel this way."

Jungkook leans in closer, his voice soft but firm. "You're perfect to me, Y/n. I love you, and I love everything about you—even if you're a little uncomfortable right now. It's just part of the process, and you don't have to rush through it."

You nod slowly, grateful for his patience and support. "Thanks, Kook. I just have to be patient, right?"

"Exactly," he says with a reassuring smile. "And I'll be right here with you, every step of the way."

You smile down at Jaehyun, gently rocking him in your arms as you speak softly to him. "Hey, little one, do you want your dad to hold you?" you ask, watching as he blinks up at you with those wide, curious eyes, not giving any response other than a silent stare.

You chuckle at his calmness, turning to Jungkook who's sitting nearby. "Well, looks like you have a fan already," you joke, carefully handing the baby over to him. "It's almost scary how much he looks like you," you tease, noticing how Jaehyun nestles into his dad's arms so naturally.

Jungkook takes the baby gently, his eyes lighting up as Jaehyun curls up against him. "He definitely has my genes," he replies with a grin, looking down at the tiny face that mirrors his own so closely. "But he's still got that little bit of you in there too," he adds, glancing up at you with a smile, pride shining in his eyes.

You watch the two of them together, feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness. "I guess he's got the best of both of us," you say, your heart swelling with love as you take in the beautiful moment.

Jungkook gives you a look of pure adoration as he rocks Jaehyun softly. "He's perfect, just like you."

As you watch Jaehyun in Jungkook's arms, your thoughts drift to Lily and her family. "Lily's family came all the way from overseas to visit their baby for Christmas," you say softly, your smile tinged with a hint of longing. "They're so happy, I can see the excitement in their eyes. It's like they can't get enough of him."

Jungkook glances at you, his eyes gentle as he listens. "That's great for them. It must be nice to have everyone around, especially for something as special as this."

You nod, a bittersweet smile forming on your lips. "It really is. I'm happy for them, but at the same time, I can't help but miss my own family. I wish they were here too. It's not quite the same without them, even though we're making our own little memories here."

Jungkook's expression softens as he notices the slight sadness in your eyes. He moves closer, gently resting a hand on your shoulder. "I get it. But hey, they'll be here soon, right? We can always make our own Christmas together when we're able to go home."

You nod, feeling a little better at his words. "Yeah, you're right. It's just... I never realized how much I'd miss them until now."

Jungkook smiles, looking down at Jaehyun before meeting your gaze. "We'll make sure they get to meet him soon, and we'll have our own family moments. For now, we've got each other, and that's all that matters."
