Chapter 41
00:28, 29 January 2016*Payton's POV*"You wanna know who I choose?" I asked, waiting for a response from them. They nodded their heads carefully and I sighed. "I choose Kaden. I'm sorry Brooklyn but I've been hurt too much, and I can't handle another time. I really, really want us to stay friends though," I gave the best smile I could delivering this type of news. This hurt me as much as it did him too.
"I understand, of course we'll stay friends. I'll be downstairs waiting for the others in the lobby," he said disappointingly. I felt really bad. Once Brooklyn left the room I started packing my stuff into my luggage.
"I'm sorry that this had to happen between us, I shouldn't even have had doubts, I was just scared of getting hurt again," I sighed and Kaden came over and pulled me into a hug.
"I'd never hurt you Pappy, I really do love you, and I always have," he said and I hugged tighter.
I finished packing and so did Kaden, and we headed down to the lobby where everyone who was done with packing was meeting. Basically the team and magcon were leaving at the same time to the airport, so it didn't matter which bus who took. We piled on, and here were the seating arrangements for the back:P-PaytonB-BrooklynK-KadenS-SeanX-mahogany loxJ-jackC-cameron

Coach and Bart did head count, and we left for the airport once when knew that everyone was where they were supposed to be. It was about a 20 minute drive from the hotel to the airport, and me and Kaden just made small talk the whole time.
*Kaden's POV*We were on the bus, and I was sitting next to Payton, obviously. I was honestly really surprised when she chose me over Brooklyn, I mean if she was willing to forgive him after what he did to her several times, she must of really like him. But I'm not complaining that she chose me, I love Payton, and somehow she freaking loves me back. I was on my phone, scrolling through Instagram and retweeting fan tweets and Payton was looking through vine with her headphones in. I couldn't help but stare at her occasionally, she's do god damn perfect. Luckily she didn't notice since she'd been occupied with vine. We were about 10 minutes away now, when we turned left at a stoplight. Suddenly, a loud crashing sound, and glass breaking echoes through my ears as the bus shook and everyone shifted somewhat in their seats. I look out the window, curious as to what happened, and see a big SUV smashed into the side of our bus exactly where our seat was. My ears are still ringing, and horribly too, but it passes as the minutes go on.
"Is everyone alright?" Bart yells from the front of the bus.
"Brooklyn's unconscious I think," mahogany says panicky, trying to shake Brooklyn awake. I look over at Payton, and hadn't even realized that she's unconscious too. It makes sense though, they were the ones closest to the windows and where the car hit the bus.
"Payton is too," I yell out, trying to keep my calm. My heart sank to the ground though, I can't even tell if she's breathing or not. I subconsciously grab her hand and squeeze it tight, knowing that she won't even squeeze back not stopping me.
"Okay everyone stay calm, I'm calling an ambulance," Bart, the only adult besides the driver on the bus says, and dials 911. He goes off to the front of the bus again to talk to the operator, and I just hold Payton tight, not daring to let go.~~~~~~~*Payton's POV*Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
What the hell is that?
I groan and open my eyes, shifting to the sudden brightness. Looking around, I'm severely confused.
Beep.
Oh great, someone 3 year old decided to play pot and pan drums in my head. My hands held my head, and someone came in through the door.
"Uh, hi? What am I doing here?" I asked, a bit irritated because of the pounding in my head and those stupid annoying beeps.
Beep.
"Hi, I'm glad to see you're awake, I'll let your family know that. I'm Dr. McAndrews and I've been taking care of you for the past few hours while you've been unconscious." He explained.
"Unconscious? From what?" I asked, still incredibly confused.
"A car running a red light collided with your bus, where you were sitting apparently. You must of hit your head pretty hard on the window, or something, because that head trauma caused you to pass out." Well that explains it.
Someone else walked through the door, and went to my bedside. It was two teenage boys, with unfamiliar faces.
"Payton, you're awake," one of them smiled and pulled me into a hug.
Payton? Who's Payton? Is that my name? Ugh this confusion is soon gonna turn into agitation.
"Wh-who are you?" I ask, looking up at the strangers in my hospital room.
*Kaden's POV*"Wh-who are you?" She asks me and Sean.
"That's funny Pay, hilarious actually," Sean says rolling his eyes, but her expression doesn't change.
"You don't remember us?" I ask, voice trembling, and she shakes her head no.
"Oh, um," the doctor who was examining paperwork looked up from his clipboard with a nervous face on. "Would you mind telling me your name?" He questioned her.
"Uhm, I--I don't know, I guess it's Payton because they called me that?" She asks, looking scared and confused. I just wanted to hold her and tell her that everything was gonna be okay, but I didn't want to scare her any more than she is now because she doesn't know who I am.
"Would you boys join me in the hall for a quick discussion?" The doctor asked me and Sean to step out into the hallway with him. We nodded our heads and walked out of the room.
"This is rare, but not impossible." He starts off, "I think that Payton's experiencing long term amnesia with the trauma to her head. The other boy admitted from the accident has the same thing. It could wear off, but maybe not. The most important thing is to not try and make them remember anything from before the accident unless they remember themselves. Too much information at once can overwhelm them. You can tell them basics, like their birthday, where they live, what they like to do, and most should come back to them on their own. Don't go into memories though, they can trigger responses in the brain that aren't exactly good... like waking up a sleepwalker," he finished off. I was speechless. How am I supposed to get her to remember me if I can't even tell her what we used to do, our memories together from our childhood.. We nod our heads in understanding. "Good, since you're immediate family, you can sign the discharge papers for Payton, and she'll be okay to go. I'll give her some medicine for the symptoms, but other than that she'll be okay," he smiled after giving Sean the discharge papers he had to sign.
"How do you tell your own sister who you are? Or who she is?" Sean asked me, while signing the papers.
"I don't even know how to tell her who I am.."
