Chapter 11

'Facts do not cease to exist just because they are ignored.'

Forth wasn't supposed to be at the Medical Faculty during lunch because Med students were only given half an hour to have lunch but he can't let the day go by without seeing Beam especially when the guy was mad at him.

He knows that they are not a couple yet and he don't really have to explain anything but he wants Beam to trust him and what happened earlier was not a good example.

He went to the faculty's cafeteria and searched for the insane doctors gang. He finally spotted them at the corner and approached them.

"Ai'Forth! What brings you here?" Kit saw him first as he was the one facing in his direction. Pha and Beam who had their backs to him turned their heads. Forth smiled and nodded as he walked towards them.

Beam's eyes grew wide as he realized he shouldn't have turned his head at the sound of Forth's name. He looked away. Stupid reflex.

"Ai'Beam? Can we talk?"

Kit and Pha stared with knitted eyebrows. Perhaps this can explain Beam's grumpy behavior in the morning.

"About what?" Beam won't look at him.

"About this morning?"

Pha stood up and tapped Kit's shoulder indicating that they should let the two talk privately.

"Ai'Beam, we'll just go to the washroom. Ai'Forth, see you around." The two alphas nodded at each other and then Pha left with Kit.

Forth sat beside Beam who was looking at everything except to his direction.

"What do we need to talk about?" Beam was faking innocence.

"Are you mad at me? I'm sorry if you misunderstood earlier —

"Why are you explaining? You don't have to. I don't care anyways."

"Beam, please look at me."

Beam didn't look at him.

"Beam." Forth tried again.

He still won't.

"If you don't look at me i swear i will kiss you right here, right now." Forth quipped.

"You jerk!" Beam's voice was a little loud but at least he was looking at Forth now — more like glaring.

They also caught more attention from other students now than when Forth walked in a moment ago.

Forth smirked. He wasn't affected when Beam said he didn't care. He can see right through him.

"Please don't be mad at me na? She was just asking about a certain teacher."

"I said you don't have to explain." Beam gritted.

"But i have to. I don't want my wife to misunderstood 😊"

"You brat!" Beam hissed. He don't want to draw more attention. "Wife my foot! You're the wife — oof!" He abruptly covered his mouth with his hands before he says anything more stupid.

He mentally kicked himself from spouting such nonsense.

Forth laughed his heart out at Beam who turned a dark shade of red from blushing and being angry at the same time.

Both men and women turned their heads and feasted their eyes at these two good looking guys who seemed to be in a world of their own.

"You're so cute." Forth said when he stopped laughing.

"Shuddup." Beam was still pinkish from blushing too hard. He turned away again not letting Forth see how embarrassed he was of his response.

"So i am forgiven then?" Forth grinned at him.

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Go away."

Forth patted his head while smiling at him. "So cute."

Beam swatted his hands. "Aish! Can you leave now? Geez. Engineering students have so much time to slack off." He hissed.

"Okay then." Forth stood up. "I'll pick you up later okay? I'm going now. I have to study hard for our future 😊"

Beam rolled his eyes again. It seems rolling his eyes has become an escape route so he don't have to look at Forth when he spouts sappy nonsense that makes his heart flutter. "Fuck off."

Forth was smiling widely as he was driving back to his faculty. He knows he's already forgiven even if Beam denies being mad at him earlier.

"What the fuck happened to you?" Beam raised his eyebrows as he saw Forth looking weird.

Forth rubbed his nape and smiled sheepishly before answering. "I'm hungry."

Beam opened his mouth to ask why but he remembered that Forth went to him at lunch and he probably didn't have anything to eat the whole day.

"You didn't have lunch didn't you? What a stupid brat. Come on let's go eat I'm also hungry." He dragged Forth to his motorbike and they went off to eat leaving Pha and Kit with confused faces as they witnessed Beam's actions.

Forth was thinking about Beam's actions earlier when he picked him up.

I think we're making progress. 😊

He was all smiles before he went to sleep that night.

Beam was laying on his bed when he though of his stupid words during lunch. This memory made him slap himself because he still blushed every time he remembered.

Then he realized that this feeling was new to him and he starting to become afraid of the consequences of this happiness.

There goes the voices in his head again.

What the fuck are you doing? You can't do this.

You can't.

You don't deserve him.

Right. I did something terrible and i don't deserve this happiness. I should have just died when i had that chance.

I shouldn't be this happy. I'm not allowed.

Thoughts like these are going to eat his sanity if they don't stop.

He wants to sleep but with these things running through his mind sleeping would be impossible. Looks like he needs his old friend, the one he haven't seen for a couple of days, the one he stores in the drawers of his night stand.

He sat up, took a tablet and swallowed and chugged the glass of water then waited for it to take effect in his body.

I need to turn away. Before it's too late.

"Your boyfriend isn't here yet. That's unusual." Kit said as they were making their way to the rows of benches beside the faculty building.

Lab works were cancelled today so they get to go home a bit earlier than usual.

Kit and Pha sat together while Beam sat opposite them. The sun was setting down in the horizon but the seats and table were still a little warm.

It was still a bit early for Pha to pick up Yo from his faculty and Ming won't be there yet in another half hour.

"He's not my boyfriend Kitty." Said Beam who was looking rather occupied since morning.

"Correction: not your boyfriend yet."

"No Kitty. There is no 'yet'"

Phana who was busy texting with his phone suddenly looked at him and raised his eyebrows.

"Does he know that?"

"Know what?" He asked, nonchalant.

"Ai'Beam, you gotta be joking. Are you leading him on?"

"What? No! — wait! He wasn't serious about that right?"

Kit scoffed at him. "Are you for real? Oh poor Ai'Forth."

"Ai'Beam, it's so damn obvious that he likes you. Forth is not the type of guy who asks help to chase someone but he came to me and Kit and asked help and right now you are doubting his sincerity? Seriously?! Since when did you became dumb?" Pha rattled.

"This feels like deja vu for the second time. Last time we were having this conversation it was me who was dumb and denying everything. And before me, it was Ai'Pha." Kit was pertaining to when Beam and Pha was talking to him about Ming and when he and Beam talked to Pha about Wayo. Now their roles have changed. Funny fate.

Forth likes him?

Is this some kind of joke?

Of course he knows that! He knows exactly what Forth feels towards him because not too long ago, he started to feel something for him — something he can't name yet.

But he can't just accept that kind of feeling can he? Especially when he's this fucked up. He won't drag another person into his miserable situation. He has done enough damage to Pha and Kit already and now to their boyfriends too. He can't. No.

"But I'm straight. I like women." He answered, pretending to be unaffected with Pha's words.

"Don't you use that excuse to our faces Ai'Beam. I've heard that fucking reason too many times already." Kit was pissed at him now.

"You can't keep leading him on Ai'Beam. Just accept the affection he is willing to give. Don't you think it's time you move on?" Pha said calmly. He was always the most level headed among them.

His friends are right. Forth needs to know the truth.

He needs to take this chance with Forth to be happy.

But can he really take this risk?
