Chapter 9

If you want to know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders.

"How was your weekend Ai'Beam?" Pha asked as Beam sat with him and Kit. They were a little early for class and their prof has not yet arrived.

He was expecting a smack on the head or a Beam who looked like a lion disturbed from his sleep when they met after the weekend.

"I don't want to talk about it right now." Beam said calmly.

"Wait. How did you get here so fast? And wow you're early. I thought you wouldn't make it to morning class." Kit asked as he remembered Beam's car was at repair and won't be finished until the next two weeks and he was a slowpoke in the morning.

He didn't pick up Beam since he came to school straight from home. It was the same for Phana.

"....."

"Ai'Forth sent you here? Right?" Pha asked.

Beam nodded shyly. "Sort of."

"Are you dating already?"

"No." He answered in an uninterested tone. Beam sounded like he didn't want to talk about it at the moment so Pha and Kit didn't push through with the conversation and went to their morning class.

"P'Kitkat!!😁"

Kit instantly turned red when he saw Ming with a plastered smile on his face and was waving at him. Phana also melted his snobbish face when he saw Wayo standing with Ming also waving at them. Ming hugged Kit the moment they came near him.

"I missed you P!!😇"

"Will you keep it down?! You're disturbing other students. And let me go i can't breath.😑"

Ming let go of his hug but still put his arms around Kit's shoulder.

"So are you ready for my re - mmmph!!"

Kit instantly covered his boyfriend's mouth before he says anything in front of everybody.

Pha who has some kind of telepathic mind caught up with what Ming was supposed to say.

"Ming seriously we don't want to know what you guys are up to." He said while covering Yo's ears with his hands.

Kit removed Ming's hands and sent death glares at Pha and Ming.

"Oh right." Said Ming with a sheepish smile.

"What was it about P?" Wayo innocently asked.

"It's nothing 'Yo."

Kit then turned to Beam who was silent all of the sudden. He looked restless. It seems he couldn't sleep well since after he slept well in Forth's embrace but he won't admit that to them. He wouldn't even admit it to himself.

"Ai'Beam? Let's go eat before i take you back."

"No. You guys go i'll just take a cab back -

"P'Forth?" A confused Ming said and they were greeted with a smiling figure walking towards them.

"Huh. Not again" Beam mumbled.

"What brings you here P?" Wayo's question was instantly answered when he saw Forth looked at Beam who was looking down. That's how his P'Pha looks at him.

"I'm here to pick up Beam and also get dinner." This guy doesn't beat around the bush.

Everyone turned their heads to Beam waiting for his violent reaction.

Knowing Beam, everyone expected him to scoff at Forth and cuss unpronounceable words but he didn't do any of that.

"I'm not hungry. But thanks anyway." He sounded tired.

Sometimes when you don't want to explain what you feel, saying you're tired is the best excuse.

Kit and Pha shared a knowing look.

"Ai'Beam, you didn't eat much when he had lunch. Is everything okay?" Kit and Pha were worried again now.

"Nothing's wrong. Just *sigh* I'm tired."

"Then I'll take you. Pha and Kit both have something to do tonight so it's best that i go with you." Forth suggested.

"No it's okay. I'll jus -

"You know I'm not taking no for an answer Beam." Forth interjected.

"Ai'Pha, Ai'Kit .. " He turned to the others "Nong, i'll be taking Beam with me na? I'll take care of everything. Beam? Let's go."

He took Beam's bag and grabbed Beam's wrist with his other hand and gently tugged Beam to go with him to which - surprisingly - he didn't resist. They both headed to where Forth parked his motorbike.

Everyone stared at them as they walked away.

"I hope Beam's okay. That idiot never tells his sentiments."

"He'll be okay P'Kit. P'Forth is a good person." Ming said while rubbing his hands to the elders back in a comforting manner.

Forth handed Beam an extra helmet that looked and smelled new.

"I bought that after i took you here this morning." Forth answered when he notice the curious look on his face.

"Here let me help you" He helped Beam wear the helmet. Their faces was so close that both of them could feel each other's breaths brushing their faces.

Forth smiled at Beam after he put the helmet strap under his chin. He clearly saw Beam's face turn scarlet which made him smile widely. They rode off to the highway and after a few minutes of driving, they stopped at a restaurant along the way.

"What are we doing here? I told you i'm not hungry." Beam complained.

"I know. But you need to eat Beam. I heard you didn't eat much at lunch. Come on."

Beam just rolled his eyes but didn't complained anymore.

They both got off the bike and took their helmets off. Forth again grabbed Beam by his shoulders and pushed him inside the restaurant. They got a table near the glass window and Forth took out a seat for Beam.

"Stop being a gentleman. I'm not a girl." Beam said shyly.

He smiled again. "I know. But i like doing it, especially to you 😊"

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes again.

Whatever seems to be the word he uses when he can't think of a clever comeback to Forth's cheesy lines.

"So what do you want to eat?"

"I'm not hungry."

"Hmm. That doesn't exist on the menu. How about pasta?"

"I said I'm not hun -

"Okay then. Pasta it is!" Forth was obviously not buying his excuses.

While they wait, they talked about things at school and their other drinking buddies that they rarely meet because of different faculties and other school matters and etc.

The food arrived a moment later and they started to eat. They were having fun with this dinner and forgot the time. They ended up being their for an hour and a half.

Beam forgot that he was supposed to be a guarded person towards Forth since the guy was into him and he don't like the idea of Forth courting him but it seemed he threw caution to the wind because he was smiling and laughing ang chatting with him like when they were in freshman year.

And Forth was ecstatic that he could see Beam the way he saw him when they were freshmen. Not the guarded person who hid behind the walls he built for himself and other people. The sight of Beam being this happy makes him proud of himself that Beam was trusting him. It makes him fall even more.

They were again on the road when they passed by a bridge and Beam tapped Forth's back repeatedly like it was an emergency. Forth stopped his motorbike at the corner.

He got of his motorbike but Beam didn't. He was still sitting on the bike.

"What's the matter Beam? Is everything alright?" He was worried something might be wrong.

Beam didn't answer him. He was looking up the sky with fascination on his face.

His worries instantly left him when he saw how Beam was amazed by those little specks of lights twinkling from a million miles away.

"Whoooooa!!" He's beaming. Look at him being his name. Forth thought. It made him smile too.

"Ai'Forth!! I didn't know there was going to be a lot of stars out this night!! We're lucky we can see this. Look!! You see that?!" Beam was making him look at the stars too. But Forth's eyes didn't leave Beam's face.

"Look a meteor! Quick make a wish!" He put his palms together and closed his eyes for like - five seconds.

Forth didn't follow him and continued to look at Beam's face with a loving gaze.

After he made a wish he started talking nonstop which made Forth lose his tongue.

"What did you wish for? - no wait you can't tell me or else it won't come true because that's the rule right? - wait! that's only for birthdays is it? - or is it both? ..

Beam didn't realize he was talking too much that it made Forth freeze in his position because Beam was so adorable too look at and he just can't -

Why the hell is he so damn adorable getting excited over the stars! I think i want to kiss him right now.

- do they work that way? Anyway whatever. They were beautiful right?" Excitement was still clearly seen on his face.

"Yea. They are." He was smiling like an idiot staring at Beam, then Beam glared at him and hit his arm.

"Jerk. You weren't even looking. 😑" Aaaand he's back.

"Huh? Wha - I was. It was beautiful. And so are you."

His face turned red again. "Geez. Can you stop being sappy for once." Beam mumbled.

"I'm just telling the truth Ai'Beam 😊"

"Whatever."

They stayed there for about 5 more minutes before they headed to the dorms because Beam's neck was hurting from looking up too much.

Forth also headed to his dorm after he sent Beam home. He couldn't stop thinking of the guy who got excited over the stars that night.

It seems like falling for you has no end Barami Wongphiphat.

That night, Beam didn't take his meds on purpose. He figured he won't get nightmares because there's now another person that occupies his mind before he falls asleep at night, that persistent engineering dork who kept looking into his soul.

A/N: So, what do you think? Is Beam ready to open up to Forth? Or Nah? Too soon right? 😇

I apologize if this chapter is boring. I have bad imagination when it comes to romance. I'm also a bit embarrassed of making Beam get excited over the freaking stars i don't know why 😷 Please forgive me 😔 i think i need to dig a hole somewhere and hide 😫😷😂
