Chapter 4: The Argument

During the night, Fuli had another dream about her and Kion. Except, this time it wasn't all hearts and rainbows, it was more of a nightmare.

"Fuli what were you thinking! you should've stayed put! when I give you an order, you do it!" Said Kion angrily.

"I couldn't! I'm sorry I couldn't let them get you! I was scared!" Said Fuli worry began to fill her eyes.

"Well you should've stayed, I had it all under control!" Said Kion still angry with Fuli.

"I'm sorry, it's just that I- I-"

"You WHAT?" The tension was really building up in Kion's voice.

Fuli then awoke from her dream. She had never had such a terrible dream about her and Kion. She glanced over to see Kion still sound asleep. She decided to head out of the cave, to clear her mind.

Fuli sat on the edge of pride rock thinking to herself. Tears began to stream down her face as she gazed at the stars above her, in the night sky. She began to wonder why she was having such weird dreams, but couldn't figure it out. She soon realized, that she liked Kion more than any animal in the pride lands and having a dream so awful, made her heart break. Then she broke down, her fear was that she would really get in a argument with Kion. Because of the incident with the zebras, she had to be aware of anything else that could happen with her dreams.

Kion then awoke and noticed that Fuli wasn't there beside him, so he headed out of the cave and saw Fuli sitting there on pride rock all alone.

He walked up to her and sat down next to her.

"Let me guess the dreams again?" Asked Kion turning to face her.

"Yeah... but this dream was different." Replied Fuli as she looked down on the rock her eyes filled with sorrow.

Kion noticed her crying and the shaking in her voice, he put his muzzle against hers comforting her, trying to calm her down.

"Shh, shh, it's okay I'm here don't worry." Said Kion soothingly.

Fuli immediately began to smile. Everytime she was with Kion, she felt like she was on top of the world, because she knew she was always safe when around him.

"Do you mind telling me about it?" Asked Kion wiping away her tears.

"I'd rather not..." Replied Fuli still shook from her dream.

"That's okay, wow, it sure is a nice night huh?" Asked Kion gazing up at the stars, in the glimmering night sky.

"Yeah, sure is." Replied Fuli looking up with him.

"You know, my dad told me all the great kings of the past are up there." Said Kion, smiling.

"Really?" Asked Fuli turning to face him.

"Yeah, isn't it amazing?" Said Kion, keeping his head up looking up at the shining stars, that lit up the night sky.

"It is." Replied Fuli smiling back at him.

"Well we better head back, we're gonna need plenty of rest for our morning patrol tomorrow." Said Kion as he walked away from Fuli leaving her there at pride rock. He turned  around and noticed that Fuli wasn't  following him.

"You coming?" He asked, his tail swaying back and forth.

"Oh, yeah, I'm coming." Replied Fuli as the two friends head back into the cave, and fall asleep. The next morning, Kion gathered the rest of the guard for their morning patrol.

As usual, Ono would fly around the pride lands, to make sure there is no danger lurking.

"Ono, you see anything?" Asked Kion.

"Nothing, so far." Replied Ono.

"Well guys, looks like we might have a short patrol today." Said Kion happily.

But before they could all second guess themselves, they heard a laugh that sounded like Janja and his hyenas.

"UGH, exclaimed Kion irritated, "Ono, go check it out."

"Afformitave." He said, and flew off in the direction of the sound.

Ono glanced around until he came upon Janja and his hyenas, with the jackals that were chasing a whole stampede of gazelle.

"Hapana!" Exclaimed Ono.

"What do you got Ono?" Asked Kion glancing up above at him.

"It's Janja and a whole pack of jackals chasing a stampede of gazelle!" Exclaimed Ono.

"Hevi Kabisa!" Lion Guard, let's go cmon!" Shouted Kion, as him and the others followed him towards the stampede.

Kion then confronted them, with the guard behind him.

Kion then lounged straight for Janja and tackled him down, his razor sharp teeth threatened the hyena.

"JANJA! I thought I told you to STAY OUT OF THE PRIDE LANDS!" Yelled Kion furiously.

"Oh you did? well I must've forgot!" Exclaimed Janja, as he rolled over and tackled Kion. Kion tried to escape but Janja was too strong, Janja held him tight, and was not letting go of him.

The more Kion struggled, the more he lost his breath.

"Guys! you know what to do!" Exclaimed Kion.

Bunga and Beshte took on the jackals, as they were frightened by their presence, and ran off.

Fuli was looking out and saw  Cheesi and Chungu, she pounced  straight towards them, but before she could do anything, Kion jumped in front of her blocking her from attacking.

"Fuli! you need to get out of here! there's too much chaos going on, and I want you to be safe!" Yelled Kion.

"But! what about you? I can't let them attack you!" Exclaimed Fuli panicking.

"I'll be fine okay? don't worry about me, I can handle this right now I want you to be safe! now go! GO!" Shouted Kion sending her out.

Fuli ran and hid behind a tree. No matter what the lion told her to do, she couldn't  let her best friend get injured.    

Janja then tackled Kion again and held him captive preventing him from coming up.

Fuli watched every move, Kion was growing weaker by the second and she couldn't just watch her friend being torn down to the ground, so she ran out and launched at Janja knocking him off Kion. All the hyenas fled.

Fuli was livid, her claws unsheathed.

The rest of the guard ran back to Kion and Fuli. Kion was on his back, his breathing intensified.

When he got up, he noticed that his friends were right there beside him. He thanked them and was glaring at Fuli.

"Hey guys, can I talk to Fuli alone please?" Asked Kion.

His friends walked off and Kion and Fuli were left.

"Fuli what were you thinking! I told you to stay put! when I give you an order, you do it!" Said Kion angrily.

"I couldn't! I'm sorry I couldn't let them get you I was scared!" Said Fuli worry filled her eyes again.

"Well, you should've stayed, I had it all under control!" Said Kion still angry with Fuli.

Fuli then realized what was going on. Her fear that she dreaded was coming true. The nightmare she had about Kion was slowly appearing right before her eyes. She backed away a few steps with fear in her eyes.

Kion was really heated, his eyes full with  fury, until he noticed how scared Fuli was, then he calmed down.

"Look, I'm sorry Fuli... it's just that I care about you, I don't ever want to lose you..." Said Kion his voice trailing off.

Fuli went in to hug him and nuzzled him. He nuzzled her back, they both smiled.

"You won't lose me Kion, ever." Said Fuli embracing her best friend tightly.

"I sure hope I don't." Kion replied, as he broke away from her.

"Well, I guess I'll be going now, I'll see you tomorrow Kion, haha, bright and early right?" She grinned.

"You know it." Kion smirked.

"Well okay then, later Kion." And with that, she left.

Kion walked away off to pride rock.He then heard rustling in the bushes so he glanced over and then Bunga hopped out startling him.

"Bunga?" why do you keep doing that?" Said Kion in an annoyed tone, lifting one paw off the ground.

"Oh haha sorry! hey I need to ask you a question!" Squealed Bunga.

"Uh, okay what is it Bunga?" Asked Kion, trying to keep his cool.

"Well I've noticed you've been hanging around Fuli a lot, do you like her?" Asked Bunga jumping around.

"W-What? me? like her? no.. w-why would I?" Stuttered Kion.

"Oh come on! we all know you do Kion we've ALL seen the way you two look at each other!" Exclaimed Bunga hopping onto his back.

"Bunga, you're hallucinating, we're just friends...that's all." Said Kion, laughing and blushing a little.

Bunga hopped off of the lion's back grinning widely.

"If you say so!" Said Bunga, as Kion watched him run off.

Kion then thought  to himself. Pfft, like Fuli? He's nuts! He said rolling his eyes at his comment.

"Guys, I have to tell you all something!" Exclaimed Bunga excitedly dancing in circles.

"What is it little b?" Asked Beshte.

"I think Kion is in love with Fuli!" Exclaimed Bunga swinging on a vine.

"Well, it is pretty obvious." Said Ono.

"I mean we've all seen the way they look at each other!" Squealed Bunga.

"That is true." Said Beshte agreeing.

"But how are we gonna get them together?" Questioned Beshte confused.

"We'll need to come up with a plan, okay everyone gather around!" Shouted Bunga.

They all gathered around and discussed a terrific plan.

"Wow that sounds poa!" Said Beshte.

"Couldn't say it better myself!" Said Ono.

"I know! I'm so brilliant." Said Bunga, grinning cheekily.

"I'll guide them to Hakuna Matata Falls!" Said Ono.

"And me and Bunga will make them fall into each other! Exclaimed Beshte.

"Okay, cmon guys let's go make these lovebirds a day they'll remember!" Squealed Bunga.

Will their plan end up being successful?
