Part 3: Sudden Feelings

The rest of the afternoon, was hot and mild considering the dry season was taking over the pride lands.Fuli, and the rest of the guard were pretty tired when they arrived back to the lair, so Kion let them rest for awhile. Back in the lair, Fuli was taking a peaceful nap, as she dreamed more about her and Kion. It started as Fuli and Kion were playing tag.

"Ha! bet you can't catch me, slow poke!" Said Fuli, running away from Kion as he followed behind her chasing her down.

"You bet I can!" Said Kion, as he padded behind her trying to keep up with the fast cheetah.

Fuli then rushed in a patch of grass crouching down, hiding herself from him as he tried to sniff her out.

"Hmm..." Said Kion, thinking to himself, aha! gotcha now."

Without saying a word, Kion quickly lounged himself in the patch of grass, pouncing onto the cheetah, pinning her down.

'Ha! gotcha Fuli!" He said looking down at her grinning.

"Ugh, okay, okay , you got me.. now can you get off me now?" Asked Fuli glaring at him.

"Hmm... let me think, no." Said Kion still grinning his heavy weight holding her down, keeping her from escaping.

Fuli then smiled nervously, trying to escape from Kion's trap but eventually she gave in knowing that he was too strong for her.

"Yeah alright, what do you want?" She asked glaring at him once more, noticing that he wouldn't let her go too easily.

"Well, I don't know really, maybe something like... oh! I know...." Said Kion suddenly smirking in a way that Fuli didn't seem to like.

Suddenly, Fuli woke up from her dream panting heavily, her body shaking fearfully. Kion noticed her in shock from the corner of his eye. He quickly moved from his spot, and made his way towards her.

Fuli glanced around to see him walking up to her, she suddenly plastered on a fake grin pretending that nothing had ever happened.

"Hey Fuli, I couldn't help but notice you were shaking a bit, are you okay?" Said Kion, worried sitting down beside her.

"Yes, I'm fine it was just a dream that's all...." Said Fuli reassuring him.

"Oh, really? why are you having all these dreams all of the sudden?" Asked Kion still worrying about his friend.

"I'm not sure, but I think they might mean something... I just can't think of what." She said confused staring at him in his eyes.

"Well, whatever happens don't be afraid because I'm always here for you okay?" Said Kion giving her a smile before pressing his muzzle against her cheek comforting her.

"Thanks Kion, that means a lot." Said Fuli, as her eyes lit up.

"Anytime, hey you know what? I know what will make you feel better follow me." Said Kion, motioning her with his tail for her to follow.

"Well, okay." Said Fuli, slowly following him.

The two friends then arrived at a beautiful grassy slope, with a magnificent waterfall flowing in the distance. Fuli immediately recognized the place. "Hakuna Matata Falls....." She said to herself.

Kion laid down on a rock right next to the waterfall smiling.

"Remember this place? He asked her, gazing in awe at the sight, "this is the place where we first met each other."

"Yeah, I do... it's so amazing." Said Fuli, staring deeply into his eyes. Kion noticed her staring, and he stared back at her still smiling his paws were crossed.

Suddenly, out in the clearing Bunga hopped off of a tree, ruining their moment.

"Oh hey guys! whatcha doing?" He asked, jumping between them, startling them.

"Bunga?" Said Fuli, startled, as she quickly hopped up her neck fur rising.

"Bunga? where'd you come from?" Asked Kion, standing up beside Fuli raising an eyebrow.

"Well I so happened to be here watching you guys from up ahead, it was totally unbungalievable!" Said Bunga, jumping up with excitement.

"Wait, you were watching us?" Asked Kion his ears fell flat, stepping back a little in embarrassment.

"Maybe... well, gotta go!" Said Bunga, running off leaving the two speechless and flustered.

"Look, I'm sorry Fuli, I didn't know he was there really!" Exclaimed Kion glancing back at Fuli seeing her embarrassed.

"No, it's okay don't apologize I didn't either, hahahaha." Said Fuli, giggling shyly as she met his gaze.

"So, did it make you feel any better?" Asked Kion changing the subject, trying to clear her mind.

"Yes, it did, thank you so much Kion I really appreciate it." Said Fuli. Before Kion could reply back, she quickly ran in to hug the lion, embracing him tightly, her soft fur brushing against his. Kion's eyes widened but he felt a really touchy feeling, a feeling he had never yet felt before. For some reason, he felt so happy, so overwhelmed by her hugging him,  he loved every bit of it.

He then smiled widely the two were blushing madly exchanging glances.

"Of course." Replied Kion, grinning.

But then there was a faint call in the distance, that sounded like a animal crying for help. They both anxiously glanced around for any signs of trouble, but could see nothing.

"Sounds like trouble again." Sighed Kion as he crouched down sniffing the grass, trying to track the animal.

"Yep, sure does, looks like it's gonna be one of those days right?" She groaned, rolling her eyes.

"Looks like it, I can sense the animal, come on we better gather up the guard, we've got duty." He replied.

"Right behind you my wonderful leader!" Fuli smirked.

Kion just rolled his eyes at her statement.

"Really?"

"What!? I mean... you are our leader..." Fuli replied smiling innocently.

They both rushed off to get the others, and they all followed behind Kion with him leading the way, as usual. Kion then saw Janja and his hyenas surrounding a poor hyrax.

"Wow, they never learn do they?" Stated Fuli, glaring at the hyenas

"No, we better help that hyrax before it becomes their lunch come on." Said Kion.

Kion then looked up to see storm clouds up in the sky and panicked, knowing what all danger thunderstorms can lead to.

"Okay, everyone here's what we're gonna do, there's a thunderstorm up ahead, so we have to hurry before anything else bad happens. Ono, scatter out a route in case a mudslide comes in and blocks our path."

"Afformitave." Said Ono, as he flew off.

"Bunga, Beshte , be sure to block the hyenas so they don't cause any more damage."

"You got it Kion." Said Beshte, as he and Bunga surrounded the hyenas trapping them.

"And Fuli, you're with me." Said Kion glancing back at Fuli from behind him.

"Got it Kion." She then smiled cutely at the thought of him and her working together.

Janja and his hyenas then ran off, and Fuli brought the hyrax back to it's family.

"Great job everyone." Said Kion, grinning.

Night began to fall in the pride lands.

Kion then walked off toward pride rock noticing Fuli sleeping quietly on the rock. Kion then came up to her, still blushing from the incident at Hakuna Matata Falls.

"Hey uh, Fuli? why don't you sleep with me tonight?" He asked her, lifting a paw on her shoulder beckoning for her to wake up.

"Oh that would be great actually, thanks Kion." Said Fuli, awakening as the two of them headed into a cave. Fuli then curled up beside Kion, with her head resting on her paw as she drifted off to sleep. Kion smiled and fell asleep with him thinking to himself.

Wow, that was different, I feel like I might be developing feelings for her...

The rest of the night the two friends cuddled close next to each other. The two of them couldn't help but force a smile.
