Draco Malfoy // No Longer Afraid
18:44, 23 March 2019So, in this oneshot, I did the most famous twists in this crazy fandom : VOLDEMORT'S DAUGHTER!
Look, I know what you're thinking. Another Draco oneshot when the previous one was as bad as old cream cheese? - And I'm sorry, okay! I've been having a crazy obsession with him for the past two days and I can't stop! I WON'T STOP.
Anyway, I hope you guys will like it!♡
*********
"Y/N, Neville and the rest of the DA are suffering in the hands of the Death Eater twins. You need to do something. They're gonna listen to you only!" Draco paced infront of me, as he ran his hands through his platinum-blonde hair.
I stood up and grabbed his elbow, making him stop. I said to him quietly, "I am doing my best, Draco! It is not as easy as you think."
Draco sighed and asked me, "What is it that is so important? Where is Potter? What are you hiding, Y/N?"
I looked away, avoiding eye contact, "I'm sorry, Draco, I can't tell you."
"Atleast let me help? I am trying to save my family and you-"
I cut him off, "Me? Why me?"
"Because I've grown close to you and not hearing your annoying comments everyday is gonna make me miss you." Draco raised an eyebrow coolly and I rolled my eyes,"Now, how can I help Potter?"
"I've already told Dumbledore about my father's crazy plans and now Dumbledore is gone! It was up to him to tell Harry all he knew, because he knew I can't. We just need to wait for Harry to-"
I was interupted off by a knock on the door as Lucius Malfoy entered into the room, "Ms. Riddle?"
I sighed and muttered, "Stop calling me that, Mr. Malfoy."
Lucius ignored me, giving a side eye to Draco, probably wondering what he was doing here. He then looked back at me and back at Draco, "Bellatrix wants you both down."
"Father, is it that important?" Draco asked him before I could tell him that we'd be there.
"You might as well come and see." Lucius avoided eye contact with either of us and left the room promptly.
Draco quickly took my hand and the two of us made our way downstairs. My shoulders tensed, and Draco, seeing that, turned towards me, "Whatever it might be, none of us will tell on Potter and his posse, okay?"
I shook my head as he kissed my forehead, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
We had reached the bottom of the stairs when I saw some Snatchers pulling a few people by their collars. I looked at the first person they caught and I got a glimpse of the girl whose head was lowered. I looked carefully and gasped and abruptly stopped; I'd recognise that brown, bushy hair anywhere. Draco looked at me, "What's wrong?"
"It's Hermione-" My eyes strayed to the next person, "-and Ron."
"That means-" Draco's grip on my tightened, but loosened as soon as Bellatrix yelled, "Draco, Y/N! Look who we have here!"
The Snatchers cleared the way and in Bellatrix's iron grip was Harry Potter. Except he looked like a victim of the Stinging Hex.
Draco walked towards Harry, whilst Bellatrix whispered, "Well?"
"I-I can't be sure." Draco let go if my hand and I stepped back as Lucius wrapped his arm around his neck saying, "Draco, look closely, son. If we..."
I slowly backed up, the converstaion getting faint as I tried to get closer to Hermione and Ron. I pushed the Snatcher who was holding Hermione, "Lay off, I've got her."
I grabbed her elbow, as I whispered to her, "You've destroyed the locket?"
She slowly nodded, and I glanced at Draco, making sure he was okay, "Listen now, my father has another one hidden in Bella-"
Bellatrix yelled suddenly, making me jump, "Ms. Riddle! Come here, princess. Tell us if this is Harry Potter and we can call your father and end this once and for all!"
I made my way towards I looked into Harry's green eyes and lied easily, "I do not know him. I've never seen him in my life."
"Ah, well, if Y/N says so I guess we've got the wrong one because she would never want to betray her father. " Draco quickly said, preventing anyone to say anything anymore.
"I-yes, although it does look like he's hit by a Stinging Hex. Give me her wand, let me see what her last spell was." Bellatrix looked at Hermione and then her eyes skimmed to the Snatcher standing near the bottom of the stairs. Her eyes widened and I looked at it and I gasped. The Sword of Gryffndor.
"Where'd you get that from?" Bellatrix glared at him, her breath ragged.
"It was in her bag when we searched up. Reckon it's mine now." The man said and I felt like hexing him until his brain had stopped functioning.
Bella, full of rage, whipped her wand, and set ropes the Snatcher's neck. All of them. Honestly, I thought she'd kill them all. The sword had been kept in her vault for reasons by Voldemort and seeing it out tipped her. "GET OUT, GET OUT!" She began yelling.
I took a step ahead to protect Hermione but she shot me a sharp glance, ordering me to stay back. Draco grabbed my wrist and pulled me back, "Stay down. Don't try anything otherwise we're both going to be in trouble."
I helplessly looked at Harry and Ron being dragged down by Peter Pettigrew and as Bella grabbed Hermione and interrogated her on the floor. I couldn't watch my own friends being tortured. Draco dragged me out of the room, into the nearest room and closed the door. I wriggled out of Draco's grip, "Y/N. Stop. You'll only make things worse."
I turned and buried my head in his chest, not wanting to let the tears spill, "I hate myself, I hate my father and I hate the fact that I can't help them. I hate that I'm afraid of my father."
"Stop. Everything will turn out fine. I'm here."
And those were the only comforting words I needed to hear over Hermione's bloody screams.
***********
Hardly had I told Harry about Rowena's tiara, when some stupid Death Eater interupted our conversation. Since then, I had no time to check if Harry had got the message. I would've done it myself, but I was helping out the teacher's, putting barriers on the school. It took some time, gaining the teachers' trust, but eventually it happened, all thanks to Dumbledore. Right now, Voldemort was under the impression that I was going to bring Harry to him. Heck, I wasn't. I was no longer afraid of him or of the consequences.
The battle had begun when I caught glimpse of the platinum-haired boy. I had gone in search of him and was now alone in the corridor. He ran towards me, and as soon as we were close, he placed his hands on either sides of my cheek, resting his forehead on mine. I grabbed the fabric of his shirt from his side and looked into his silver eyes.
"We're okay. This'll all be over soon." Draco said, stroking my cheek.
No. This won't end any time soon.
"Kiss me." I said, clutching his shirt tighter.
Draco pulled back slightly, searching my eyes, "What?"
"Kiss me." I repeated, "Kiss me before I lose my mind." I looked at him as he pressed his lips against mine without another question. I savoured the moment. This could be our first and last kiss.
He pulled me closer to him and I kissed him harder. We both pulled back. Draco looked at me with a serious expression, a small smile playing on his lips, "You better get out of this alive, Y/N. I want an explaination for this."
There was no way I was getting out of this alive. Once my father hears and realises my betrayal, there was no bloody way I would be kept alive. "Draco, you know-" I began, helplessly, tears stinging my eyes.
"No, stop. We are going to get through this, and we will make it out alive." Draco insisted and pulled back, whipping his wand out from his back pocket.
At that moment, all I could do was believe in whatever Draco said. Making it out of this together.
