Chapter 1

You were on your way home when you got the surprise of your life. A boy in a white shirt, selvedge denim, brown timberlands and snapback was sitting patiently on the steps of your apartment and is eagerly looking at all the people who was passing by. A smile engraved on your face as you started to run towards his direction.

"Kookie!" You shouted. The boy looked at the direction where your voice came from and his face brightened the moment he saw you. He stood up and walked towards you to meet you halfway and he engulfed you in a bear hug.

"I missed you, Noona!" He said the moment he broke off the hug.

"Aww~ I missed you too, little one." You said as you ruffled his hair. Usually, Jungkook hates it when people ruffle or even touch his hair, but you are the one and only exception.

"So what are you doing here? It's a school day, right? Aren't your big brothers looking for you?" You queried. He shook his head and embraced your arm like a little child excited to see his parents.

"No. I told Namjoon and Yoongi hyung that I will be meeting you in the afternoon and would have dinner afterwards. I didn't tell Jimin, Taehyung, and Hobi hyung because I know for sure that they will just tag along and I will not get to spend time with you." He beamed at you. You just sighed and smiled sweetly towards the boy beside you. How can you not love this sweet little boy? He is always trying his best to make time for you.

"We better get going then because we don't have much time." He blurted and you felt your arms being tugged by the excited boy towards the bus station.

You spent half of the day with the maknae trying on some clothes and stuff that he needs. While he was busy trying on some stuff, you went on ahead to buy a few stuff for yourself on nearby stores. It was already dark when both of you finished sweeping the Myeondong area for all the stuff he needs. Jungkook got hungry and decided to grab some dinner in a quiet little restaurant where he frequently goes to whenever he wants to eat dinner in peace. While waiting for your orders, Jungkook excused himself and went to the men's room.

You were left on your seat reading the book you picked up from the bookstore earlier. You aren't halfway on the page you were reading when a familiar voice greeted you.

"I never expected to see you here." She chirped perkily at you. You looked up slowly from your book and masked on a phony smile towards the last person you wanted to see. "Hey Soyeon, nice to see you." You greeted dryly as you closed your book.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she moved closer to where you are sitting and looking at your table and all the stuff that you bought.

"Well, I'm waiting for our dinner to arrive and-" But you were cut off.

"You're on a date? With whom?" She asked curiously. You just stared at her in surprise. Boy, was she really this excited to see you date someone?

"Well, it's not exactly a date it's-" But again, you weren't able to finish your sentence when Junngkook interrupted your conversation.

"Excuse me, but she is with me. Don't worry, she's not spending time with your precious boyfriend." He said grimly as he gave a cold shoulder towards Soyeon and went back to his seat. 

"Oh, hi Kookie. I was-" But Jungkook cut her off mid-sentence. "It's Jungkook." He corrected coldly. Soyeon just shook her head and disregarded the cold remark made by Jungkook and continued on.

"Anyways, I was about to tell you that I was grabbing dinner for Jin and the boys and I just want to ask if you wanted anything." She said sweetly. You looked at Jungkook and you could see how displeased he is wasting his time talking to Soyeon. It was pretty eminent that the maknae is really not fond of her.

"I'm really not planning on eating dinner in the dorm today. I plan to spend time with (Y/N) noona. Now, if you don't mind, we want to eat our dinner in peace." He cold-heartedly cut her off before she could even say anything more and just opened his phone and ignored the girl standing by your table.

Soyeon's face turned bright red due to humiliation. It was the first time a boy coldly cut her off. Most of the time they would give in to her whims, but not Jungkook.

"Anyways, enjoy your dinner. As long as you're not spending time with Jin, I guess that would be fine." She quipped as she started walking away. You know very well that Soyeon was directing those words towards you. You just heaved out a sigh and took a sip of your drink.

"That's no good." Jungkook gritted his teeth as he was about to stand up and confront Soyeon but you were able to get hold of his wrist.

"That's enough, Kookie. Just let it go. It's not worth it." You said and gave a pleading look towards the maknae. The boy was still furious but evntually calmed down and took his seat as the food you ordered arrived. You took one last look at Soyeon who is now waiting in line to get her order.

"Let's not spoil our evening with something petty, okay?" You comfortably said to Jungkook as a small smile etched on your face calming the maknae and making him smile back at you.

"Ok, noona. Only beacause you said so." He said as he picked up his chopsticks and started getting some food to his plate.

After your dinner, you and Jungkook managed to get some ice cream since the young boy still hesitates to go home. After you finished your ice cream, you walked Jungkook home and you hear the boy sigh as he near his destination and walk towards the building with his head hanging low.

"Thanks for the day, noona. I really had fun. I just wish we could do this more often." He said as he turned around and faced you. You just smiled at him.

"I had a great time too, Kookie. Don't worry, we would have plenty of time to do this kind of stuff, ok?" You then rufled his hair earning a loud groan from him. Then before he could turn his back on you, you grab hold of his wrist making him look at you. You held a small paperbag towards him. He looked at you confusedly but then took the bag slowly from your hands and slowly peeked inside it and immediately, a wave of excitement flashed on his face as he took out the contents out of the bag.

"I'm sorry I wasn't able to celebrate your birthday with you, so I got you something that I know you would like." Jungkook exctedly tore off the wraper and his eyes widened in surprise. "Noona, you got me the game! Omo! And a brand new headphones. Thanks, noona!" He said as he consumed you in another hug.

"You are most welcome, little one." You said and broke off the hug. But then, a sad face fronted you as you stepped back from him.

"Why the sad face face, Kookie? I thought you love the gift I gave you?" You asked curiously looking at his pouting face. You wanted to laugh because he does look cute, but then you know that he feels sad about something.

"Yes, I do love them, noona. But, remember you promised me months ago that when this game comes out, you and I will be the first ones to play it. But now since Cruella is there, who wil I be playing it with? Definitely Taehyung and Jimin hyung will hog the game." He pouted as he spattered the bitterness he wanted to say while he looks at the gift you gave him. You couldn't help but feel sad on what you heard. Another sigh escaped you as you walked slowly towards the boy to comfort him. You didn't mean to make things complicated for him and the rest of the boys, but you don't have any other choice.

You and Jin have been friends since the 5th grade after standing up for him from the school bully who was about to pound him. Despite your small stature, you were able to jump on towards the bully and throw a few punches making him throw you away from him making you hit the lockers and dislocating your arm. The bully was shocked to see that his attacker was a small girl and was about to give you a piece of his mind when the teachers arrived at the scene and was able to give the bully detention for causing commotion. Jin was forever grateful at you and since then, he became your friend. You also became friends with his non-school friends whom he also consider as his other family. For years, things were doing well with you and the boys, until one day, Jin came to the dorm he shared with the boys and introduced his girlfriend, Soyeon. You never saw him that happy before. At first, everything was going great until one day, Jin and Soyeon had a huge fight about something Soyeon is jealous of. Soyeon's only condition in fixing the relationship with Jin was for him not to spend time with you or see you. You remember so clearly the day Jin talked to you about it. You were playing a console game with Jungkook and Taehyung when Jin excused you from them. You remembered so well how much your world shattered the moment Jin said that he is doing this to save his relationship with Soyeon. It was a slap on your face when you realized that he has chosen her over you whom he have been friends all those years. But then you remembered how happy he was when he is when he's with Soyeon and how pathetic he looked when they broke up. Because of that, you made up your mind despite the unbearable pain you are feeling in your heart, to agree on Soyeon's terms just to see Jin happy. You remembered so well how the younger boys protested badly over your descision, but with a heavy heart, you just faked a smile and hurriedly left the dorm without giving Jin and the other boys another glance nor a goodbye. Jungkook was the one greatly affected with this decision because he was always dependent on you on everything.

You sighed for the nth time that night. "How about we have a game night soon in my place if that would be okay with you. But of course, the other boys should be there as well. I haven't seen them for a long time, you know." You suggested. You could see that the maknae was deep in thought at first, since he wanted mostly to spend time with you but then eventually his face lit up.

"Ok, it's a deal." He finally said.

"Anyways, please hand this other bag to Namjoon since it will be his birthday in a few days." You handed him another paper bag which he slowly grabbed from you and stuffed inside his bag.

"This sucks." He blurted as he finished closing his bag and once again facing you.

"What is?" You looked at him curiously.

"This. This stupid arrangement. Why did it have to be Cruella instead of you in the dorm? I just miss the old times when you were just there instead of just meeting on some random place and hiding like this just to please that witch." He griped. Jungkook was the one who started calling Soyeon 'Cruella' after she got back with Jin because of her cruel proposition to get rid of you.

"Well, we wanted Jin oppa to be happy so we agreed to this." You said softly.

"We didn't agree to this. I know I didn't. You did. I don't know why." He objected. You just sighed. You just wish you could tell it to Jungkook how miserable you are right now for giving in to Soyeon's wishes, but you can't. Jin's happiness still comes first.

"I'm really sorry, Kookie. We'll just have to work around on this, ok?" You assured him. He just nodded and then started to walk towards the dorm. You on the other hand was planted on where you are standing as you watch Jungkook's figure disappear from the dorm's lobby.
