01:32, 1 May 2023"Rexy?! Rexy!" Jane've been calling for her new dinosaur friend since she woke up, which is not a long ago. When Jane woke up, Rexy wasn't with her anymore and had to think hard if what happened at night was only a dream or it actually happened. It felt too real to be a dream. Now Jane is walking around the jungle, looking for the t-rex she made friends with. The sun shone down at her, giving her a light and warmht she needed. At least now she can see everything properly, at night it was hard to orient yourself.
Still through her head ran questions from last night. Why didn't the raptor and Rexy kill her? They had an opportunity but they did nothing. The raptor left while Rexy decided to make friends with the human. However there seems to be no one that could answer her questions.
"Rexy, where are you?!" Jane called once again, reminding to herself that she's not alone in this jungle. The power is probably still out and anything can jump at her that don't have to let her live like the raptor and Rexy did. She gave up trying to call for her new friend and decided to find a way out of this paddock and hope to bumb into some human, the best to be someone she know.
After what felt like forever Jane smiled happily when she came across a high fence. Her way out. The warning lights are out so the power is probably still out. Won't know if she don't try. She picked up a twig and threw it at the fence. Nothing happened. She was about to climb up the barrier when familiar voice she missed past these hours called her name.
"Jay! Jay!" Before she could turn fully, Jane was scooped into her uncle's arms. He hugged her little body tightly, even letting few tears out.
"My little Jay. Thank god you're alive. You're never leaving my side again, you understand?" Jane was more than happy to nod, eager to get away from this island with her family.
"I missed you, uncle Alan." The smaller Grant mumbled into the older Grant's neck, hugging back tight.
"I missed you too, Jay." Alan breath out back, pulling away to look at her dirty face. They all are dirty, so shower will be nice to get. "Let's get out of here." Jane nodded once again and Alan put her down. Right after she was brought into another group hug by the two other kids.
"The power is probably still out when I tried to throw a twig at the fence." Jane told her uncle in the hug, taking deep breath when Tim and Lex let go. They squeezed the life out of her.
"Really? Well, let's see." Alan climbed the barrier and the kids watched as he grabbed onto the fence, shaking and screaming which scared both Tim and Lex as they screamed, afraid Alan is being electrified. Jane rolled her eyes at the attempt of joke, not keeping herself from smiling. When Alan stopped shaking, he gave them cheeky smirk.
"That's not funny."
"That was great." Jane gave both Lex and Tim 'are you serious' look. Alan tried to find another way than climbing but Rexy's roar told otherwise.
"Ah, there you are." Jane turned the way it came from, wanting to follow it to get to Rexy.
"Jay, come on!" Her friends called for her, snapping her from going after Rexy.
"Oh, right. Monkey time." And she started climbing after them, being the last one. She was careful with her steps, making sure she won't let go and fall while taking her sweet time. The power is out, it's okay.
SIKEEEEE
Alarm suddenly went off and the warning lights light up, warning them. It disturbed her and she lost her foot, almost falling down if she wasn't holding tight. Alan, Lex and Tim are already on the ground but Jane.
"Get down now!"
"You're gonna have to jump, Jay." Jane looked down at her uncle like he grew two heads.
"I know I climb and jump everything I can but not this time! I will kill myself!" The girl hanging on the fence that's about to power up yelled, her grip tightening around the fence.
"You won't kill yourself! I will catch you! Just jump!" This time Alan screamed, his worries for his niece rising once again. He cannot lose her, not again.
"Craziest thing I've ever done. No, that's after making friends with t-rex." Jane muttered to herself, letting out a shaky breath.
"Jane, jump!" Uh, oh. He used her name, she gotta jump.
"O-okay! I'm counting to three! One! Two-!" Jane was cut off by the fence electrify her, sending her falling into Alan's arms. However when they took a look at her and felt her pulse, their worries only grew bigger.
"She's not breathing." Immediately Alan started CPR, never stopping.
"No, Jay! I can't lose you again, please!" Alan called, pushing onto her chest and giving her air while new tears started filling his eyes. He gave his brother a promise and that's to keep Jane safe, and now he's failing him.
"Come on, Jay." Lex and Tim stood aside, hugging each other worriedly as Lex cried. Maybe she don't know Jane that long but grew liking to her and seeing her maybe dead is hurting her, both her and Tim. Jane started coughing after Alan pushed onto her chest again, a relief taking upon all three of them.
"Good, good. Good girl. You're alive." Alan hugged his niece as tight as before, being careful to not hurt her any more while stroking her hair.
"Three." They smiled, glad she survived. She had so close to death again but the fate just can't let her die. Looks like fate likes her too much.
🦖
Alan carried his niece into the main building while Lex and Tim followed close behind him, opening the door for him. They had wrapped Jane's burned arms and as it got her feet as well, Alan carried her exhausted body.
"Hello?" He called into the building, no response getting back. They walked into dinning room and he sat his niece on the table.
"Okay, I'm gonna have to find the others. And get you a doctor. You two," Alan pointed at Lex and Tim, who stood beside Jane. "please, look out for my niece."
"Yeah." The two kids nodded.
"Your hair is still sticking up. You remind me of triceratops." Jane stared at him blankly, smiling at the end which Alan returned.
"I'd rather ankylosaurus. My head is their tail now." Tim and Lex laughed at Jane's comment, getting a grin from Alan as well. She still has her personality.
"I'll be back soon. I promise." With these words Alan walked away, Jane praying for him to stay safe. When he was out of sight, Jane sighed loudly, putting her face into her hands carefully to not hurt herself. She's so tired even though she had a long nap with Rexy, who by the way disappeared somewhere and the girl would like to know where.
Jane whined, falling back and onto the table with tiredness taking over her again. How she still has her cap and not even dirtied from mud is mystery to her.
"Guys, look." Tim called and Jane looked up lazily, her eyes filling with joy when they saw the table filled with great looking food and cakes.
Even though she's in delicious pain, the Grant slid down from the table and followed the other two kids towards the table with food, immediately sitting down beside Lex and grabbing a spoon. She hasn't eaten a single food since yesterday morning and her stomach had been making orchester past these hours.
The trio sat together and ate quietly and happily, enjoying the moment after a long time of stress and fear. They shared smiles and grins, grabbing whatever comes to their hands and pushing it into their mouth.
Their moment though didn't last long when Lex looked behind Tim at something. Jane looked the same way while Tim turned around, all three of their eyes widening in fear at the sight of raptor's shadow. They quickly shoot onto their feet, Tim and Lex helping Jane run as her feet still hurt from the fence.
They ran into kitchen probably and hid behind one of the metal tables, far from the door and can only hope they'll survive this and the raptors leave them alone.
Jane peeked over the corner, seeing the eye of the dinosaur looking for them through the small window in the door. Her head spun to look at her friends in her right, whispering to them. "They know we are here."
Right after like on purpose they heard a 'click' and door opening, meaning raptors got in. If you listen carefully, you can hear Jane's and the other two kids' heartbeat from distance.
They heard raptors coming their way from Jane's side so they got on their knees and hands to crawl the other side of the metal table, trying to be quiet and quick as much as possible. Jane had to bite her tongue to prevent from whincing when stinging pain shot from her burned hands. It still hurt like hell.
A raptor pushed pots from the table which fell on Jane and her and Tim crawled quickly after Lex behind another metal table, sitting frozen against the table with ladles hanging by their heads.
Unfortumately one fell from beside Tim's head, making loud noise that caught both raptors attention. They heard a 'thund' from table they ran from before, sharing knowing looks. Lex quickly crawled along the table to the other end, Tim and Lex going to follow. However from how much fear is filling him Tim stopped right as he turned a corner, blocking Jane's way as well so she crawled around the next table.
With her eye she peeked through a little hole that isn't blocked by kitchen utensils, seeing raptor's snout reach the corner where Tim is sitting still frozen. Before they could look any further, there was heard a tapling sound which Jane assume made Lex to take their attention from Tim.
The little girl without siblings couldn't help that little smile that crawled onto her lips at the sight of siblings relationship. They have each others back no matter what and Lex is exactly the older sister she's supposed to be.
One of the raptors shrieked and then another 'thund' was heard, which at Jane wonder what exactly happened. Tim suddenly ran pass where's Jane sitting and into freezer with raptor on his tail. Wasting no time Jane ignored the pain in her feet and limped towards the freezer.
Her hand reached inside and grabbed Tim's mud stained shirt, pulling him otside and they tried to close the door, however the raptor stick her head between. Screaming Lex came running to help them and with her help they finally closed the door.
"What a training. Where's the other one?" Jane turned to look up at Lex who pointed a direction and Jane followed. The other raptor is passed out somewhere across the room but not for long. They need to find Alan and Ellie or someone.
"Let's go." And they ran out the kitchen and to find someone adult, not noticing the raptor woke up and watched after them.
