Adora POV:Adora couldn't help but be just a bit ecstatic. I mean she just got kissed by her most favorite person in the world. Her crush since 6. Her best friend. Catra. Adora giggled on her way to Glimmers room. She twirled into Glimmers room with a sparkling smile.
"Heyyyy Glim" she called. Adora slid into a rolley chair and looked up at Glimmers bed.
"Wake UP!" Adora yelled. "It's a new day full of new opportunities and happiness!"
Glimmer emerged over the edge of the bed with 4 different blankets around her.
"No."
"Glimmeeerrrrrr"
"Arggggggggggggggggggggggggfgggfriknfrick. Fine"
"Yay!" Adora spun the chair around until she got dizzy.
Glimmer eyes her suspiciously while Adora giggled and collapsed on the floor.
"I got dizzy." Adora stated giddily.
"Okay, spill." Glimmer teleported infront of Adora, hand on her hip.
Adora looked at Glimmer confused.
"Spill what?" Adora asked. "Why would I spill something. That would make a mess."
Glimmer mentally banged her head on the wall. Fucking horde.
"Tell me why your acting so weird." Glimmer said gesturing to Adora on the floor.
"I just have a really good feeling about today" Adora said huffing.
Glimmer rolled her eyes.
"Sure."
"I would never lie to you Glimmer." Adora said earnestly. Adora crawled up to Glimmer and put her hands together.
"Don't you trust me?" Adora gave Glimmer a heartbreaking look.
"Okay fine fine." Glimmer broke. "Lets just go get breakfast and get this meeting over with."
"Right. Meeting." Adora closed her eyes for a second. Gotta put my game face on.
Adora stood up confidently. Lest do this. Glimmer shook her head in confusion. Adora's mood did an entire 180.
"You are so weird." Glimmer sighed. "Lest go go kay." She smiled.
Catra pov:Catra walked idly down the hall. There was nothing to do. She could train. But she wasn't in the mood. Shadow Weaver was planning a new attack to get Adora back. She had pushed Catra out of her room with a growl. Catra peeked into Scorpia's room. She lay drawing on her bed. It was a picture of Her, catra and Entrapta. Catra couldn't help but crack a smile. Scorpia was something else. She was about to go in and start up a conversation when she stopped. Catra felt something she tried hard to hide. Catra backed out of the doorway and out the hallway. Catra clutched her shirt. She felt her eyes burning and prickling with tears. In a panic she retreated to the roof.
When she reached the highest point she could climb to she sat down.
The wind rustled Catra's hair and gently swirled around her. Catra calmed her breathing slowly. She was kind of embarrassed. She couldn't believe she had had a breakdown like that in public. Not that anyone had even seen it. Catra gulped in the fresh air. She had forgotten how it felt to breath real air. Catra looked down at her trembling hands. Why did she have to be such a coward. She couldn't even deal with her own emotions.
Catra gazed towards the whispering woods. She needed to see Adora.
Adora always made her feel better. Catra was realizing, this was infuriating. She could never live without her.
Without even a glance back at the crumbling horde building, she leaped of the roof.
Whaaaaaattt. A low key time skip so we can get this plot rolling? Uh yEaH————
Adora pov:It was official. Adora hated meetings. Queen Angella droned on and on about doing inventory and rechecking all weapon stock rooms. Adora was about to fall asleep. She looked around the room at all the other guests. Which was not many to be frank. These sorts of meetings tended to have a lower turn out.
Mermista was swirling the fountain behind Queen Angella's seat, definitely not paying attention.
Glimmer and Bow we're playing some hand game about, paper? Rocks? Adora did not understand.
Entrapta and perfuma were absent.
And Catra...
Catra?
Adora snapped to attention. Catra hung upside down in the window behind every one.
Adora gave Catra a look. Why are you hanging in the window during this veRY important meeting?
Catra smirked. Like you were even paying attention.
Adora and Catra had a stare off.
(Catra won. Like always.)
"So Adora, could you do that?" The Queen asked.
Adora jumped, startled. "Uh-er I, yes mam." Adora smiled nervously.
"Thank you Adora. That would be so helpful." Queen Angella smiled gracefully.
"Um Your Majesty?" Adora raises her hand slowly. "May I be excused for a moment to use the uh-what did Glimmer say to call it? The lady's room."
"Of corse Adora."
Adora thanked her and walked quickly out of the room. But not before giving Catra a stern look that meant, you better follow me.
Catra gulped and scrambled to follow in the direction Adora had left in.
Adora and Catra met at an open window 2 halls down.
"Hey Adora." Catra drawled.
"Catra, I am in a extremely important meeting. You can't just-"
"I didn't even do anything" Catra smirked.
" you're the one who got distracted. I am not at fault" catra held her hands up, shrugging.
Adora rolled her eyes. "Well if your here, at least stay a while. Come in the window."
"Why? I think it's more romantic this way. Don't ya think." Catra said humming.
"Falling to your death is not romantic stupid." Adora retorted.
Catra shrugged. "Different folks different strokes."
"Hey, and what about your meeting." Catra added.
"They don't need me to be there. It'll be fine" Adora brushed the thought off.
"Wow. I'm shocked." Catra smiled. "Skipping a meeting? Where's the real Adora?" Catra mocked looking around.
"Heyyy! Just get in here."
"I'm coming already!"
Glimmer POV:"Glimmer, could you check on Adora for me?" Queen Angella asked. "She's been gone quite a while."
"Sure thing Mom." Glimmer sighed. "Brb" She snapped her fingers and poofed away.
She poofed to the bathroom.
"Adora, my Mom. Needs you or something. " Glimmer called. There was no answer. Glimmer stuck bet head through the door.
"Um Adora?" Glimmer looked around.
"What the-" Then glimmer heard muffed talking. Glimmer pressed her ear to the wall.
Try as she might. Glimmer couldn't make out a single word. Glimmer reached for the door. She stepped out softly. Glimmer needed to find a good place to hide. She scampered down the hallway. When she got to the end she stopped. She could hear the voices clearly now.
"Why I think it's more romantic this way."
Glimmer's eyes widened. What in the name of-
She had to find out who this person was. Glimmer peeked around the corner, but all she could see was Adora leaning slightly out the window. If she dared to look any further Adora would spot her for sure.
"Falling to your death is not romantic stupid"
Glimmer glimpsed a vantage point directly above Adora's head. But it was useless. Being above her wouldn't help her see outside.
"Different folks different strokes."
"Just get in here"
Glimmer waited a little more until she heard the sound of them running towards Adora's room.
Glimmer was going to get to the bottom of this.
