𝐍a-hee and Na-yeon had planned to spend the afternoon together, just like they always did. These two were practically inseparable, treating each other like sisters. They loved to tease each other, but there was always a sense of reassurance in their playful banter. As they laughed and joked, you could feel the warmth of their friendship shining through. It was a special bond that made every moment together feel joyful and comforting.
Na-hee popped another piece of popcorn into her mouth and left a trail of crumbs on the couch. She was watching a show, but it was starting to get boring with nothing else to do. Letting out a huff of annoyance, she propped her feet up on the table and settled into a comfy position.
It was Saturday, which meant she had one more day to enjoy herself before diving back into the chaos of arranging her transfer to Na-yeon's school, HYOSAN. Na-hee felt a mix of excitement and anxiety at the thought, but for now, she just wanted to relax and enjoy the moment with her friend.
Suddenly, someone tapped her legs, causing her feet to drop to the floor with a thud. She looked up, and there was Na-yeon, wearing an annoyed expression. Na-yeon had brought more popcorn for the two of them to share. Na-hee raised her brows in curiosity. "What?" she asked, her voice playful.
"Get your feet down on the floor" Na-yeon replied, flopping down on the cozy couch next to her. Na-hee sank deeper into the cushions, feeling the softness envelop her.
"Why? It's comfortable" she shot back, a teasing smile on her face.
"Be formal" Na-yeon insisted, popping a piece of popcorn into her mouth while keeping her eyes glued to the screen.
Na-hee rolled her eyes dramatically, a grin still on her lips. "This is MY apartment for a reason, Na-yeon. You can't tell me what to do." With a smirk, she lifted her feet back onto the table, feeling a sense of rebellion.
Both of their mothers were disgustingly rich, which meant Na-hee had her own apartment to escape to whenever she wanted. Her mom didn't seem to care much as long as Na-hee stayed safe and didn't do anything too reckless.
"You're like my stepdad who always tells me what to do" Na-hee said with a laugh, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Na-yeon rolled her eyes, a playful annoyance in her voice. "At least I'm not controlling!"
Na-hee met Na-yeon's gaze, her lips curling into a teasing smile. Na-yeon, feeling the playful tension, slapped Na-hee gently on the shoulder. "Hey! I can feel your eyes on me!" she scolded, trying to sound serious but failing to hide her amusement.
"See? You're controlling!" Na-hee stuck her tongue out playfully, chuckling at her friend's reaction. Na-yeon huffed, crossing her arms, but a slight smile crept onto her face despite herself. The air between them was filled with laughter and light hearted teasing, a moment of friendship that felt warm and genuine. Even though they tend to bully each other everytime, pretty ironic.
Suddenly, Na-hee's phone buzzed with a text notification and lit up. Na-yeon's gaze fell onto it, and she saw a message from someone. Na-hee followed her gaze and noticed her phone. With a teasing smile, Na-yeon popped another piece of popcorn into her mouth, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Na-hee quickly snatched her phone away before Na-yeon could reach for it. "Who's that?" Na-yeon exclaimed loudly, her excitement clear. Na-hee felt a flutter of nerves as she checked the message, trying to keep it hidden from Na-yeon's curious eyes.
As she opened the screen, her heart raced when she saw a text from 'Jang Wu-jin.' A warm blush crept onto her cheeks, and a small smile formed on her lips. The message was sweet, with Wu-jin saying he had a great time yesterday and hoped they could hang out again soon.
Na-yeon's eyes widened in surprise. "It's a BOY, isn't it?!" she cheered, her voice filled with joy.Na-hee turned to look at her, feeling a mix of confusion and embarrassment. "When we were in elementary school, your face would get all blushy whenever a boy got close to you! And that weird habit of biting your lip!" Na-yeon teased, pointing a finger in the air as she chuckled loudly.
Na-hee couldn't help but giggle, feeling both shy and happy. The memories of their elementary days flooded back. "Huh? Habit? I do that?" Na-hee raised one eyebrow, looking confused. Na-yeon nodded eagerly.
"You're very easy to read, Na-hee. You're so expressive! You can't even lie" she confessed with a playful grin. Na-hee felt her cheeks heat up, a blush creeping across her face.
"Fine. It is a boy" she admitted, feeling a mix of embarrassment and excitement. Na-hee was a social butterfly, and everyone could tell how she felt whether she was mad, happy, or sad just by looking at her face or hearing her voice. Even when she tried to hide her feelings, it was no use.
Na-yeon's eyes sparkled with joy. "See? I KNEW IT! I'm your best friend after all!" She fist bumped herself and burst into laughter. Then, her gaze suddenly focused on Na-hee. "Maybe this is your time to finally get a boyfriend!" she teased, singing the last word playfully.
Na-hee's face turned even redder as she waved her hands in denial. "No no way!" she stammered, feeling flustered. "So, are you going out with him?" Na-yeon asked, pointing at Na-hee's phone.
Na-hee shook her head quickly. "We just met yesterday. He was really fun to be with! He took great photos of me, and I made friends with him!" she explained, her excitement bubbling over. "Besides, it's too early for us to go out since I just met the guy!"
Na-yeon leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "So, do you have a little crush on him?" she asked teasingly. Na-hee let out a sigh, knowing she couldn't keep her feelings a secret. "Just admiration. I think he's really sweet and handsome" she admitted, her heart racing.
"Awww, finally! One day, invite me to your wedding!" Na-yeon exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. Na-hee looked at her, a blushing mess, feeling both shy and thrilled. "I'll be your best woman at the wedding!"
Na-yeon stood up, sensing the embarrassment in the air. Na-hee quickly ran after her, calling out her name as she laughed, trying to hide her flustered face.
After a while, Na-yeon had to say goodbye as her mom was calling her to come home. Na-hee sank onto her couch, her eyes wide with surprise. She hurriedly grabbed her phone, realizing she had forgotten to text Wu-jin because she was so caught up in her time with Na-yeon.
Opening the message, she quickly typed her reply, adding a cheerful "hi" and telling him she had a great time and wouldn't mind hanging out with him too. She bit her lip, feeling a mix of excitement and guilt for making the boy wait for her response. But then, she raised an eyebrow in confusion her message had already been seen. *That was fast.* She thought.
Meanwhile, Wu-jin sat there, staring at his messages, refreshing the chat a thousand times. He was patiently waiting for Na-hee to reply. When he saw that she had seen his message but hadn't responded, he felt a pang of worry. Maybe the message he sent was too basic, and she wasn't interested after all.
When she finally wrote back to Wu-jin, his eyes went wide with surprise, and a warm blush crept into his cheeks. He felt a rush of excitement bubbling inside him. The thought of getting to know the girl better made his heart race. Maybe, just maybe, they could become good friends, or even something more! He couldn't help but smile at the possibility, feeling hopeful and a little nervous all at once.
Wu-Jin and Na-hee kept texting each other, getting to know one another better with each message. Wu-Jin would casually throw in random jokes that made Na-hee giggle uncontrollably. She lay on her bed, completely lost in their conversation, almost missing dinner because she was having so much fun. The warmth of their connection filled her heart with joy, and she couldn't help but smile at her phone, feeling a flutter of excitement with every text.
As the day faded away, Na-hee feeling the soft sheets wrap around her like a warm hug. The gentle glow of my lamp made the room feel cozy and safe. I took a deep breath, inhaling the calming scent of lavender that filled the air.
She closed her eyes, letting her mind drift to happy memories from the day. With each breath, I felt myself sinking deeper into the mattress, ready to let go and fall into a deep, restful sleep.
Time flew by so quickly that before I knew it, it was already a lot of days has passed, I could hardly believe how swiftly the hours slipped away. It felt like I blinked, and suddenly, the sun was rising again, casting a warm glow.
Na-hee felt a wave of happiness wash over her as she and her mom finally completed everything needed for her transfer to HYOSAN High. They had a long talk with the principal at their house, and her mom was really impressed by everything the principal said. However, Na-hee couldn't shake the feeling that the principal was hiding something. She noticed a forced smile on the principal's face, as if trying too hard to make the school sound perfect.
Despite her doubts, Na-hee felt a sense of relief. At least she would be with Na-yeon, her best friend, and that made her excited. She was starting on next monday, and the thought of being the same school with Na-yeon filled her heart with joy. Na-hee took a deep breath, ready to embrace this new school, new people and new Invironment.
Even though she felt a bit sad about leaving her old school, her classmates surrounded her with support and warm wishes for her safety, which truly warmed her heart. She was popular at her previous school, earning the title of 'HighSchool Sweetheart' a name that perfectly suited her kind and caring nature. Everyone loved her because she was always there to lend a helping hand and offer a smile.
Na-hee knew that some people didn't like her because of her popularity, but she didn't let it bother her. She understood that not everyone could like her, and that was okay. She chose to focus on the love and friendship she had, cherishing the memories she made while also looking forward to her future.
The wind danced through her hair as she embraced the comforting feeling of freedom. To chase away her boredom, she decided to roller skate around the park, a place where she always felt alive. Roller skating was one of her favorite hobbies, along with drawing. People often called her gifted because she had so many interests, but these two were the ones that truly made her heart sing.
As she glided on her skates, the gentle breeze wrapped around her, making her feel calm and free. Each push and glide brought a smile to her face, and she felt like she could fly. The world around her faded away, and all that mattered was the rhythm of her skates.
When she picked up her sketchbook later, her imagination took flight. Drawing was like magic for her, ideas flowed effortlessly, and suddenly, she had a beautiful picture in her mind that she couldn't wait to bring to life on paper. She was always captivated by the art, and her passion led her to join several art competitions at her school. Each time she placed, it filled her with joy and pride.
She stared into nothingness, recalling her encounter with her neighbor whom she had just met. She had never seen anyone come out of that house before, but earlier, a pretty girl walked out, carrying books and wearing headphones. Her blank expression might have seemed like a sign of a bad mood to others.
Na-hee felt a rush of embarrassment as she remembered how she almost tripped on the way home while roller skating because the girl had caught her attention. Her heart raced when she realized the girl had seen her, but instead of smiling or saying anything, she simply walked away.
Na-hee cringed at the thought, that was her first impression of her neighbor, and it was such an embarrassing one. She bit her lip, feeling a mix of shame and longing. What if she never got the chance to see to her again? The moment replayed in her mind, and she couldn't help but wish she had done something differently.
Na-hee felt her cheeks heat up as she replayed the moment in her head. "Ugh, why did I have to trip" she muttered, covering her face with her hands. Taking a deep breath, she slowly stood up, brushing off her clothes. "Okay, just laugh it off" she told herself, forcing a smile. But inside, she wished she could disappear.
Wait, what? Why does she suddenly feel embarrassed? What has been happening with her lately? Maybe it's because she has been meeting new people. But she usually is not like that.
Lately, she might have felt nervous or unsure in social situations. Meeting new people can be overwhelming, especially if she feels pressure to make a good impression. Also, if something unexpected happened, like a funny mistake or a compliment, it could make her feel shy. Sometimes, even small things can catch her off guard and make her feel embarrassed.
After she finished drawing, she eagerly ran down the stairs, her stomach growling for buldak. Kim Na-hee could never resist the call of her hungry belly. She plopped down in her chair at the dining table, excitement bubbling inside her as she prepared to dig in.
With a tube of chapstick in her hand, she smiled at the sight of the steaming bowl in front of her. She loved spicy food, and buldak was her favorite. But she knew she would need plenty of water to cool her tongue, especially since she always added extra sauce. As she took her first bite, the heat filled her mouth, and she couldn't help but grin, feeling the warmth spread through her. It was a delicious battle between the spice and her craving, and she was ready to enjoy every moment of it.
After she finished eating her buldak, she washed her bowl, humming softly as the water splashed into her hands. She then ran back to her room, feeling a bit bored with nothing else to do.
Looking at the time on her phone '4:20' she realized Na-yeon's school day was almost over. She glanced around her room, searching for something fun to do. Spotting her phone on the desk, she turned on Spotify and played her favorite playlist. As the music filled the room, she sang along heartily, especially when "What is Love?" by TWICE started playing, making her smile.
