The calm before the storm "2"

Orario streets were unusually busy , wherever you walk everyone was bursting in excitement and energy. It was that time of the year again , despite being delayed monsterfilia was nearly there , just few days away. The warm weather added an extra charm to the festival , kids were running after one another and merchants stacked up to sell whatever delicacies or products they brought to the city this year.

Riveria walked out of the guild hall after finishing a meeting ,she sighed as she stepped out .Even in their days off ,the guild Asked them to be part of the security during the festival , with Freya familia members absence in the dungeon which was kept a secret among only few high ranking officials and few adventurers , Loki familia had nothing but to accept they wont be enjoying the festival that much but the work will be easier since it consists of only watching out the streets . As Riveria made her way out , Aiz was by her side , the latter didn't have anything to do today so she accompanied Riveria who didn't have any reason to refuse

" the streets are crowded ,should we avoid them or take our time ?" she asked as she glanced to her side towards Aiz " there is no harm to walk for a little bit " she replied as she was taking the view of the happy people ,merchants offering their products , kids waving towards her when she passed by and she waved back in return

"well , how about we eat something on our way from miach shop ?" Riveria proposed as they made their way through the crowd

"Sure "Aiz nodded

Deep inside the dungeon , in a certain hidden colosseum , Bell looked at the platform from the down stairs , there was no noise of monsters spawning or fighting that he remembered .

Silence , complete silence engulfed the Area , He didn't like it . this was way more serious than he thought. The dungeon floors never really changed the way they functioned unless there was a huge damage to them , but even then they would return to normal after fixing the damage. Yet this floor was empty , only monster ashes could be noticed , it was a dead area

" was this place always been like this ?" Fae broke the silence with a curious voice " No, this is way more different than what it used to be when I first passed here " with a deep stressed voice bell replied

"I can sense a lingering spirit magic in the air ¸the same that was in those creatures you encountered " Fae

" yes I figured out that much , whatever was here , they are long gone and the only question is where " bell replied , both were silent for a while as they worked their minds to find out what happened

Crack , rumble

A sound of stones falling broke their thoughts as bell jumped directly to a fighting stance preparing for anything coming at him , however as he looked around trying to sense his surroundings again , nothing , he couldn't spot anything

" Bell , that wall over there! " Fae shouted as she draw his attention away towards a certain spot in the wall .

Bell jumped towards the higher level ,as he approached the wall ,he spotted tracks , it was a huge amount of tracks as if the whole colosseum monsters gathered in one place .

No , bell deduced , this was more than that ,as cold sweat dripping down his back , he didn't really liked his idea

He checked the wall , where the tracks stopped or more accurately disappeared . now that he was standing near it he could see the unusual shape of the wall , it was pushed inwards as if a tunnel was dug , several tooth marks on the sides

"worm wells ? " bell questioned

"a worm well tunnel would ve disappeared long before we ve arrived but these marks are weird , its like a worm well dug a tunnel and someone else used a corrosive substance to stop the dungeon regeneration" Fae answered

"this direction , its parallel to the floor entrance " bell deduced

" they are going up !" he screamed , as a horrifiying realization hit him

worm wells were always a nightmare for adventurers however they were inhabiting the deep floors for a reason , but if someone managed to tame some of them like what he saw few years ago ¸it would bring chaos to everyone on the upper floors.

With that amount of tracks in addition to the worm wells , who ever was behind the monster army , they have a goal set in mind , Rivera wouldn't be able to withstand this much they would make it to Orario before anyone realize what happened

" Hey , what are you doing!" Fae shouted

Bell jumped back ,clicking his teeth together , ignoring her voice , flames erupted from his sides as two big fire wings spread from his back as he flied toward the exist , he had to stop it , he couldn't even imagine the scale of the catastrophe that might occur.

" using my power now would only make your eyes take longer to return back " Fae spoke again

" we have to stop the monsters, they are digging in directly in the dungeon to avoid any other adventurers ,everyone is in danger !" Bell replied ,as he flied faster , many scenarios passed his mind , as he remembered when he was attacked by those monsters with his goddess
