Minutes later,

Minhee's POV

"Mr. Bang and Mr. Kim, I really didn't expect this from you two. I am extremely disappointed with your absurd behavior."

I was in the cafeteria where Ms. Park, our bio teacher, Chan's homeroom teacher, shaking her head in disappointment while the two boys in question were scattered around with injuries all over. The two stood quite, but the silence was very dangerous. 

Anger was boiling in the two pairs of eyes, and I couldn't stand the sight of it. How could Chan, out of all people, turn into whatever creature from hell he was acting like? Why was it so unnatural? 

"As punishment I am giving you detention for today and the rest of the week so you'll learn your lesson. Am I clear?" The teacher asserted, to which Chan and Seungmin nodded, giving each other angry glares time to time. "Okay what happened?" Sooyun comes running. "Quite a lot actually." I reply. "Psst.. what's Ms. Park doing here?" Haechan asks, whispering cautiously. "Someone snitched." Taeyong replies, looking over at Doyoung. "I DIDN'T SNITCH. I WENT TO CALL THE NURSE BUT ONCE SHE SAW WHAT WAS GOING ON SHE REPORTED IT TO MS. PARK. AND OUT OF ALL OF IT NONE OF IT IS MY FAULT." Doyoung says in a frustrated tone to which Taeyong replies with an eyeroll. "Yeah right." 

"Guys you really think this is the right time to bicker?" Haechan says. "SHUT UP DONGHYUCK WE ARE FRICKING OLDER THAN YOU." The two reply in sync. "Guys he does have a point. Like, we shouldn't be bickering right now." Sicheng says to which they smile and say. "If you say so!" "The partiality I swear..." Haechan says while shaking his head. 

By now Ms. Park had left the cafeteria and the boys were hurt all over. "BABY ARE YOU OKAY?!" Dahyun unnie comes rushing in. "I'm fine babe. Don't worry. The one who isn't fine is this guy over here." He said, getting up, brushing off the dust on his shirt. "You really want another blow on your face don't you-" 

And that my friends, is when we get to see the face of the most unexpected person.

"Believe me you wouldn't want to hit him." 

The one and the only Park Jihyo. 

3rd Person's POV

Chan's eyes softened a bit at seeing the face in front of him. The face he loved with his all his heart. Well at least at some point of time. Not anymore. Or so he thought. But no, he didn't want to acknowledge it. He didn't want to take consideration of the fact that he still loved her. Why? Because according to him 

"Jihyo step away." He said with a firm tone. "I won't." She replied back, as confident as ever. Jihyo had learnt a very important lesson yesterday.

<<Flashback>> 

Jihyo ran to her room as soon as she entered the house, avoiding the questions of her mother and little brother. She slammed the door close and fell on to her bed, bawling her eyes out. 

"YOU STUPID GOOD FOR NOTHING DUMBASS JIHYO!! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! YOU DESERVE NOTHING! NOTHING I TELL YOU! YOU KNOW WHAT?! IT ISN'T EVEN MY FAULT. IT S T-THAT STUPID CHAN'S FAULT. THAT GUY IS PERFECT FOR WHAT?! FOR WHAT?! WHAT GOOD REASON?! WHY IS HE SO NICE, HANDSOME, INCREDIBLE AND ALL IN ALL FLAWLESS HUNH?! I F***KING  LOVE YOU!!" 

She stops yelling as she realized what she had just said. "I love you Bang Chan. I really do. I'm so sorry." She starts crying right after. In fact she got so tired yelling and crying she slowly fell asleep, the thoughts and questions circling her head following her to the dreams.

In her dream, Jihyo found herself in a familiar yet unexpected place, her old middle school. It was funny how it looked exactly like she had left to be, echoing with the sounds of the young students talking and laughing, the same off-white and blue walls covered with notice boards and the students' works, the same black lockers. Pretty normal right? That's what Jihyo thought until-

"I AM COMING!"

Jihyo looks down to see a girl running past her. Not just any girl for that matter. It was non other than Jihyo herself when she was in middle school. 

Jihyo stared wide-eyed with curiosity, trying to process what just happened, before running behind young Jihyo to see where she was going. She stopped as she saw the young Jihyo hugging a young boy. An adorable boy with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and a wide smile. That was none other than Chan, of course younger.

YOUNG JIHYO- Where were you? I have been looking for you since the past-YOUNG CHAN- 10 minutes? You can be a real impatient girl sometimes..YOUNG JIHYO- And you can be such a lazy slouch sometimes! WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?YOUNG CHAN- Did you miss me that much hunh?  *gets hit in the arm* OUCH! THAT HURT! YOUNG JIHYO- Awww did it really hurt?YOUNG CHAN- Yeah..YOUNG JIHYO- As it should've.YOUNG CHAN- YAH!

YOUNG JIHYO- What? It's fun messing with you!YOUNG CHAN- Ughh.. whatever. 

The older Jihyo giggled at the memory of those old days. The fights were so small, the reasons were so dumb. Childhood would be that one video that Jihyo would replay till the end of time. 

YOUNG JIHYO- You'll have to deal with it Chan. As long as we are friends that is.YOUNG CHAN- Not forever please-YOUNG JIHYO- So we are going to be forever friends? Like forever?YOUNG CHAN- Obviously silly! We gonna be doing high school together...YOUNG JIHYO- ...college together...YOUNG CHAN- ...we'll get married at the same day in the same church..

YOUNG JIHYO- ....and then grow old together...YOUNG CHAN AND YOUNG JIHYO- THE SAME OLD AGE HOME TOO!

The two kids giggled at the thought of their future. 

YOUNG JIHYO- But Chan, what if something or someone tries to break our friendship?YOUNG CHAN- We gonna break that person's bones. I don't even care if they are older than us.

YOUNG JIHYO- What if it ain't a someone?

YOUNG CHAN- Oh come on Jihyo. I trust you with all my heart you know. Nothing can break us. We are best friends remember?  Not only that...

The words which the young boy touched Jihyo's heart:

"As long as we are what we are we don't have anything to worry about. It is the trust that matters. Do you trust me Jihyo?"

The young Chan turned toward the older Jihyo, who was in midst of tears observing the scene in front of herself.

"Do you really trust me Park Jihyo?"

It was just a dream, but a dream that answered her questions almost immediately. She woke up with determination. Determination to fix the mistakes. 

Jihyo wanted to redo the whole thing again. How she felt when Chan confessed his feelings to her, the kiss and everything else from past to present. after all these years she understood that what she felt for him wasn't just one-sided, he felt it too. But again, fear took over her. Being close for so many years she didn't wanted to ruin the friendship in between of them. But now she knew. She knew that she trusted herself and Chan. Nothing can ruin a genuine friendship.

"Chan what are you doing?! Are you crazy?! WHAT HAS GOT INTO YOU?!" Jihyo yelled at the guy who stood up, brushing off the dust from his black jacket. "Step aside." He said coldly. This was the type of coldness that had never been heard by Jihyo in all these years of friendship. "I WON'T STEP ASIDE-" Jihyo made eye contact with him and stopped midway.

Chan's eyes were dark brown. There had always been a shimmer in those eyes of his. They shone the reflection of the morning sun even at night time. Because of this Sooyun and Felix always used to call him 'Happy Eyes'. His eyes showed what he was thinking or what he was feeling, but they could be difficult to read for someone who hadn't known him well.

But at the current moment, she was staring into something different. Darkness was all over those eyes, the light wasn't even there. They looked like two hellholes, dark, scary and miserable. A glint of pain in them, but not much, as if forcibly hidden. 

The moment Jihyo saw him she knew.

This wasn't Chan. 

This wasn't the Chan she knew.

Okay that took a dark and sad turn but like you kinda saw this coming, or did you? So I really put my everything to make this chapter long. I am going really slow with this story and I think it might be getting boring for you guys.... let me know what you think of it so far!
