Chapter 74

01:01, 4 April 2015

Ross' P.O.V

I look down at my lap. Lynn reaches out, cupping my cheek. "You can tell me," she whispers.

I place my hand on top of her gentle one. "I miss you," I mutter.

"Well, I'm here now. So tell me what's going on," she says softly as she scoots closer to me.

I look up into her loving eyes. "I lost my best friend. I had no idea what to do. I didn't know if you were coming back, I didn't want to think that you hated me. So I just did it. I told you everything, and when you left, I had to do something to take my mind off of you. It wasn't my fault though. You hung up without letting me explain," I whine.

She scoot so close that our knees are touching. "So explain now," she says as she laces our fingers together.

"Diana was married to Danny. A-And she had a gun to my head, I-I had to sleep with her to save you," I stutter.

Her eyes go wide. "Baby, how come you didn't tell me?" She climbs on my lap. My heart skips a beat and I shrug. "I put you through hell for the past five months and you just let me do it," she says quietly.

"I didn't think you'd believe me," I murmur.

She wipes my tears with her thumbs. "I would've believed you. Wanna sleep here tonight?" She asks sweetly. I shrug, even though I so badly want to sleep with her in my arm. "Well, I don't trust you alone. Come on," she stands up and extends her hand to me.

I take it. We walk to her room. She flicks on the lights, Romeo in her bed. She sighs and moves him over. "Momma?" He whispers.

I sit on the bed next to Lynn. "Yes?" She kisses his forehead.

He looks up at me, then his mom. "Is daddy staying?" He asks tiredly.

Lynn nods. "Yeah," she says before Romeo falls asleep again.

I shut off the lights and make my way back to the bed. I wrap my arm around Lynn's waist, so we're spooning before falling asleep.

I wake up in a cold sweat with a gasp. I look around, only to find myself in an unfamiliar room. I quickly remember I spent the night at Lynn's apartment. I see Romeo sleeping soundly next to me, but no Lynnette. The hall light is on, making me wonder over to the door. I jump when Lynn opens the door before I could. She looks at me worriedly, making me burst into a hysterical sob.

She pulls me up before I could fall to the ground. She pulls me out of the room, to the couch. I lay between her legs, crying into her chest. She stays silent, playing with my hair. "Look at me," she whispers.

I look up at her, hiccuping quietly. She shoves her lips onto mine, holding my cheeks. I hold her arm, my bottom lip quivering between both of hers. "Where were you?" I whine as I rest my head back on her chest.

"With Skylar," she says as she pulls a blanket over us.

I nod as she rubs my arm. I wake up about two or three more times before the sun is even visible in the sky. "Daddy?" Romeo whispers as he climbs on the couch.

I sit up, rubbing my eyes tiredly. "Yeah, bub?"

"Mommy said to go in bed with us," he kisses my cheek.

I nod and carry him to Lynn's bedroom. She lays with the baby next to her. I climb on the other side of her, wrapping my arm around her again. Romeo climbs on the other side of Skylar.
