Chapter 73

22:41, 31 March 2015

Five months later

The baby was born two days ago. Ross hasn't been communicating with anyone, according to his family. You're probably wondering; why the hell doesn't she just get back together with him? Well, if you were in my position you wouldn't want to either. I love him with a burning passion but he keeps hurting me. I hope to eventually get back together with him, but not for a while.

Back to the baby, it was girl. We agreed to name her Skylar. Rydel is bringing me to my apartment in fifteen minutes. The doctors are preparing my baby girl to come home as I get changed. Rydel walks in with the car seat and a sad smile. I flash her a smile before the nurses come in with my daughter. I take her into my arms before fixing her in her seat. "Ross said he wants to come by your place later to see the baby," she says softly as we walk to the car.

I nod. "Okay, I'll text him," I sigh.

The rest of the ride is silent. Rydel stays for a little bit so I can shower. When I get out, I glance at my phone.

Ross:1 new voicemail

I sigh deeply before getting dressed. I listen to the voicemail.

"Hey, Lynn.. Um, it's Ross. I.." he pauses to take a breath. "I'm going back on tour in two days and I wanted to see the baby before then. If you would like, I can stop at the store to get you stuff if you need anything. That's all.. I guess. Call me back or text me. I lov- sorry. Bye." I smile and shake my head before calling him back. "Hello?" He answers.

"Hey, it's me. Can you get me cereal and diapers, please? And any baby food you can?" I ask as I brush my hair.

"Sure, anything else?" He sighs with a small sniffle.

I think for a moment. "Nah, if you want to stay for dinner get something." He sniffles again. "What's wrong?" I ask as tears flood my eyes, even though I know what's wrong.

"Nothing," he bursts into a sob. "I-I'll see you later," he hangs up.

I wipe my eyes and walk to Rydel. "Hey, girlie! What's wrong?" She hugs me tightly.

"I miss him, but I can't keep doing this to Romeo," I mumble.

We talk and watch movies before there's a knock at the door. I get up and open it. Romeo hugs my legs tightly. "Daddy's crying in the car and he plays with knifes," he whispers as I lift him.

I kiss his cheek. "You want me to talk to him?" Romeo nods. I sigh as I set him down. "I'll be right back," I say to Rydel. I jog downstairs, to Ross' car. I climb in the passengers side.

His head rests on the steering wheel, between his hands as small sobs escape his lips. "I love her.. Rydel I can't-" he looks up at me. "I-I," He stutters.

I reach over and wipe his tears. "I love you too, Ross. But I need time, okay? You can't keep making the same mistakes and expecting me to forgive you." He nods sadly. "We'll go eat dinner and we can talk privately later," I say quietly.

He nods again and we get out. I help him bring the groceries upstairs. "Can I hold her?" He mumbles. I nod as I lift the baby out of her crib. He snakes his arms around my waist. "Can I hold you also?" I tense up, looking at my baby girl in my arms. "She looks just like you." Rydel quietly leaves as Romeo watches our actions.

"Come over at like 11. We'll talk then," I whisper. He smirks and pulls back. We eat a quiet dinner before Ross leaves.

"Mom?" Romeo whispers as I lay him in my bed.

I kiss his forehead. "Yes, baby?" I sit next to him.

He yawns before saying; "I miss you and daddy together."

I nod. "Me too, baby. But we'll hopefully be together again soon. Get some sleep." He soon falls asleep.

I run to get the door when there's a knock. "Is he sleeping?" Ross asks as tears stream down his face.

"Yeah," I say as he walks in. "We need to have a serious talk," I say as we sit on the couch.

He nods. "I agree. I have to tell you something," he sighs.

I close my eyes, letting the tears fall. "Romeo told me you're self-harming." I open my eyes to look at his shocked, yet hurt face.
