Bad Idea!

00:24, 11 November 2022

Tori took a sip of her drink. At this point she didn't know what she was drinking, she just knew she was drunk. She didn't want to come to this party, but her friends begged her to. So now she was here, feeling like an outsider while her friends enjoyed themselves. She was slightly annoyed with them. After all, they forced her to come and now they were nowhere to be found.

Jade was watching Tori from a distance. She could tell the girl wasn't having a great time and truth be told, neither was Jade. A good part of her wanted to come up with an excuse that would get her and Tori out of this. She wondered why she cared about the other girl. It's not like they were friends. They were merely acquaintances. Besides Tori was a big girl, and she could figure out something on her own.

Jade is trying to listen to the guy talking to her but she's just not interested. He's telling her some lame story to try and impress her. It's not working at all. Instead, it's making her want to punch him but she doesn't. She's working on self-control.

Tori doesn't know how she got pulled into a game of seven minutes but she does. She tried to ignore Cat's pleas but she couldn't find herself saying no to the girl. Saying no to Cat just seemed plain wrong no matter how much someone wanted to tell her no. Tori scanned the circle and realized there was no one here she wanted to kiss or end up in a closet with. But it was too late to back out now. She knew her friends wouldn't judge her but this is a high school party after all, so someone was going to tease her, and then the whole school would know. Tori would never be able to show her face again.

Jade was convinced by Beck to play. She didn't want to but he practically begs her. Even though they're exes, they're still great friends. Jade would consider Beck her best friend. Not that she would ever say that out loud. He was very understanding about why she broke up with him. He was, even so, kind to not tell anyone. No one else knew the real reason. It would be Jade's story to tell when she was ready and she was no near ready. For now, it was time to play this stupid game and hope for the best.

Beck spins the bottle first after volunteering. It lands on some girl Tori vaguely recognizes. Beck grabs the girl by the hand and leads her to the closet. Everyone whistles and cheers. Tori looks over at Jade, Beck's ex to see how she feels about it. In true Jade fashion, she has no emotion. Tori doesn't know why but she wants to know how Jade feels about this. She knows that Jade was the only other person dragged into this.

Seven minutes feel like an eternity. Everyone in the circle just sits and talks. Tori manages to have another drink in the meantime. She should stop but being drunk is the only thing that's keeping her at this party. At the end of the seven minutes, someone opens the closet door. Beck is shirtless and the girl is in her bra and underwear. She blushes when she sees everyone. She grabs her stuff and heads upstairs to put her clothes back on.

"Alright, who's spinning next?" André says. "Beck how about you choose since you did it last round?"

Beck has a mischievous glint in his eye as he looks at Tori. She shakes her head no hoping he picks on someone else. Beck ignores her pleas anyways. "I choose Miss. Tori Vega."

Tori takes a deep breath before spinning the bottle. She watches it as it spins round and round. She's anxious about who it's going to land on. As the bottle spins she regrets coming and agreeing to play even more. The bottle finally stops. Tori looks up to make eye contact with who it landed on.

Jade. Of all people it was Jade. The one person who hated Tori.

There are a few soft laughs but it's mostly awkward silence. No one thought this would happen. Jade groans as she goes with Tori into the closet. She regretted playing this stupid game by the second.

"Have fun," Beck says as he shuts the door. Tori rolls her eyes even though he won't see it.

It's dark when the door closes. It's silent neither girl wanting to say anything. Jade breaks the silence.

"Vega, I'd appreciate it if you got off my foot," Jade she huffs out. Tori awkwardly shuffles to try and get off Jade's foot. There's not a lot of room in here, so she stumbles and trips on her own feet. Jade catches her and Tori finds herself blushing hard. Thank god it's dark in the closet.

"One Mississippi, Two Mississippi. Three-" Tori says counting the seconds. They had to have been in here a few minutes right? It felt like it's been forever. Jade rolls her eyes, Tori was so annoying, even more so now that they were trapped in a closet.

"Can you please shut the fuck up?" Jade said. She couldn't stand Tori's nonsense.

"I'm trying to pass the time. There's not much we can do in here," Tori defends herself.

"We can stand in silence until someone opens the door," Jade argues back. Why did she have to get stuck in here with Tori? Anyone else would have been better.

"But I don't want to do that. I'll get bored if I don't do anything. Counting helps me," Tori continues but Jade cuts her off.

"Seriously Vega. Shut the fuck up. Your voice is giving me an aneurysm," Jade says rubbing her temples. She was ready to break down the closet door instead of hearing Tori keep talking.

"Oh yeah, make me shut up," Tori challenges. There's not much Jade can do anyways so Tori doesn't think anything of her comment. It's just a stupid thing to say to piss off Jade.

Jade doesn't know if it was the alcohol or the fact she hasn't had any physical contact in months but when Tori said that, it set something off in her. She pushed the other girl against the closet wall and kissed her. The worst part is, Tori, kissed her back like it was nothing as if they weren't basically enemies. Jade is the one who breaks the kiss.

"Don't tell anyone about this," Jade warns her.

"Shut the fuck up and kiss me," Tori says and for the first time in Jade's life, she listens to what Tori told her. Jade doesn't know why she likes kissing Tori or why Tori was letting her kiss her. She concluded it must be because they were both drunk. If they were sober it would have never happened.

Tori was confused, this is not what she meant when she told Jade to make me. She figured Jade would punch her or something. But Tori was enjoying it nonetheless. She'd be lying to herself if she were to say Jade wasn't pretty.

After what felt like a long time, Jade got adventurous. Her hands began to roam Tori's body. She slipped her hand's under Tori's shirt on her lower back. Tori let out a gasp at the feeling of Jade's hands. Jade took this moment to insert her tongue into Tori's open mouth. Tori practically melted into Jade's arms. For something that seemed so wrong, it felt so right. Jade and Tori weren't supposed to make out. Jade and Tori were supposed to be enemies.

Jade once again pulls them apart.

"Wow Vega," Jade says. "You're not a terrible kisser." Tori blushes at the compliment. She was still grateful that it was dark and Jade couldn't see that.

"You aren't either," Tori replied. Tori would be lying if she said that wasn't the best makeout session she's ever experienced. "It feels like it's been longer than seven minutes."

Jade thinks about it. She did kiss Tori for a while and then there was the moment when Tori was annoying the hell out of her. Yeah, it's been more than seven minutes. Jade rolls her eyes in annoyance. She knows this is Beck's idea of a joke. Everyone else would have gone along with it. Why wouldn't it be funny to lock the two enemies in a closet?

Jade is over the whole situation and bangs on the door. She's going to be let out one way or another. The pair hears some murmuring outside the door before it opens. Beck opens the door with a smirk but it quickly goes away once he sees Jade's death glare.

Jade storms off. She's mad at Beck. She's already planning on yelling at him when she's sober. She didn't find his prank funny. It hurt her but she would never let anyone know that.

Beck feels a twinge of guilt when he sees Jade storm out of the party. That isn't her. He feels even more guilty when he sees Tori follow after. He knows he fucked up and he'll be apologizing to them both later.

Tori doesn't know why she decides to follow Jade but she does. She wants to talk to her. Tori is confused about the whole thing. She enjoyed kissing Jade a little too much. She was sure Jade would never talk to her again. Tori wanted to apologize to her.

"What do you want Vega?" Jade says annoyed when she realized Tori followed her. Why couldn't she catch a break tonight?

"I just," Tori starts but she hesitates. She can't find the words she's looking for. She wants to apologize, she wants to ask what the fuck just happened and she strangely wants to ask to do it again sometime. She can't find it in her to say anything. She's afraid if she starts talking it'll come out as word vomit which she does not want tonight. "I'll leave you alone."

Jade doesn't know what's wrong with Tori but she also doesn't know why she cares. She and Tori aren't friends.

"Do you uh want a ride home?" Jade asks her. She's kicking herself in the head for asking. She just wants to go home, not take Tori home and then go home. It's not like she can take it back although she's not even sure if she wants to take it back.

"That would be nice," Tori replied awkwardly. Why was Jade being nice to her? Tori climbs in the passenger seat and Jade starts the drive to Tori's house.

The ride is awkwardly silent. Neither girl wants to say anything nor do rn wh know what to say. Jade is upset about the whole thing and Tori is confused. The only sound is the click of the radio as Tori tries to find a station.

"Do you always have to be this annoying?" Jade asks her. She doesn't mean to snap at Tori. Her emotions are just fucking with her. Tori doesn't respond but she stops messing with the radio. The last thing Tori wants is to piss Jade off. Normally she wouldn't care but tonight feels different. Tori knows she's walking on eggshells. Jade is surprised she gets no pushback from Tori. She expected Tori to snap back at her. The silence is killing Jade so she pulled out her phone and found a song to play.

Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones fills the car with noise. It's one of Jade's favorite songs.

"I like this song," Tori says halfway through the song.

"It's one of my favorites. My dad would play it when I was little," Jade says. Tori notices a sense of sadness on Jade's face but she doesn't comment on it. She knows how Jade feels about her dad. Tori nods in response. She was going to make Jade talk about her feelings, not after tonight.

They finally pull up to the Vega household. Jade thanks the heavens.

"Thanks for the ride home," Tori says. She goes to open the car door but stops herself. Jade is confused.

"What is it, Vega?" Jade asks her. Tori doesn't reply, instead, she kisses Jade. Jade wants to push her away and tell her to fuck off but she doesn't. Instead, she kisses her back. Jade is cussing herself out in every language in her head. This was stupid.

"I'm sorry," Tori told her after breaking the kiss. "I just wanted to do that one more time."

Jade has a blank expression as Tori climbs out of the car. "Goodnight Tori." Saying Tori feels foreign. It's rare that Jade calls her by her first name. She prefers to call Tori by her last name.

"Goodnight Jade," Tori says with a small smile. Jade screams internally when Tori leaves her car.

Jade makes it home a few minutes later. She pulls into her empty driveway. She noticed her mom's car was gone. That was typical. Her mom was hardly ever home. Jade sat in her car listening to music thinking over the night. Everything kept replaying in her head. She had a lot of thoughts about the night but one thing kept replaying in her head. She liked kissing Tori Vega.——————-Follow me on Twitter @ Jorichansaw Chapter name comes from Bad Idea by girl in red
