3. Neighborhood Store "Date"

"Mizuki if you didn't eat so much I wouldn't have to go to the store today!" The girl groaned as she reluctantly got out of bed.

"nya~" her cat purred as she jumped on top of (Y/n)'s desk, dropping a few books. (Y/n) glared at her feline friend before grabbing her and placing her on her bed.

"Stay here while I'm at the store, and don't even think about going to Katsuki's room! I hate having to talk to him just to get you back." (Y/n) spoke to Mizuki as if she was a person while gathering her supplies to go out. She stuffed her keys, phone, and list into her bag and walked out the door, waving goodbye to her furry friend.

The walk to the store was quiet, but not long. Upon arriving she grabbed a cart and dashed to the pet section of the store. There was a variety of cat food to choose from, but Mizuki would only be happy with a certain brand.

As she scanned the shelves for Mizuki's purple bag of cat food a certain blond passed by the aisle. She hadn't noticed him yet but he had definitely noticed her.

It wasn't until she reached for the bag that she looked over and saw him. Startled by seeing someone she knew outside of school she let go of the bag. Before it was able to hit the ground the blond boy reached out and caught it. She thanked him and placed the bag into her cart.

"I didn't know you had a cat, (Y/n)," He said as she reached for treats.

"Really?" Her eyes went wide as she paused to look at Monoma, "Didn't you see her when I tutored you last time?" He shook his head no, while she thought back to that day. "Oh, right! She was in Katsuki's room that day, but I mean it makes sense you don't know a lot about me, we barely know each other" her statement slightly saddened the boy. He has had a crush on her for quite a while but couldn't get close to her therefore never getting to know her. She noticed how quiet he had gotten and decided to lighten up the mood.

"Well, I don't mind having a shopping partner, if you're willing to go around the store with me." She smiled.

"Sure, why not?" He grabbed the front of the cart and pushed it as she walked to the next aisle. (Y/n) grabbed the grocery list she made earlier from her bag and began to look for everything she needed. The two talked as they shopped, getting to know each other bit by bit.

"Why don't you tell me more about your cat, like how you got her, or why you named her Mizuki?" Monona's questions about her cat made the girl's eyes sparkle. She loved talking about Mizuki, especially the day she found her.

"Well I just thought Mizuki sounded cute, plus she's gray like the moon." (Y/n) turned back to giggle as he smiled at her reaction.

"And how'd you get her?" He asked, wanting to see her turn back and giggle again.

"One day when I was walking home with Kirishima we spotted her, a kitten all by herself. He was the first to notice and waved me over. I thought it was strange since we weren't close at all but I still did what he told me to do." She was now walking beside him instead of in front, thinking it would be easier to tell the story this way. "Anyway, I walked up and saw Mizuki and instantly fell in love. I asked Kirishima if it was his and when he responded no I immediately picked her up and took her home with me. I've had her ever since. Mizuki never protested or ran away, even when she follows others she can't sleep at night unless it's next to me in my bed. That's why I brought her with me so she wouldn't have to sleep alone and Kirishima can still see her this way, but lately, she's been a little too friendly with Katsuki." The thought of said blond irritated the girl to her core. Monoma noticed her expression and laughed.

"I guess it's not just me who hates Bakugou." Letting go of the cart, he held onto his stomach as he laughed. The sight of him laughing made the girl giggle as well.

"I don't hate him! He's just annoying as hell. Cmon let's go pay for this before I begin ranting about him." It was then, when they had finished grabbing everything they needed, (Y/n) heard a familiar voice in front of her. It was her aunt, or in other words, Kirishima's mother.

"It's so nice how your boyfriend goes grocery shopping with you, I can't even get my husband to pick up anything at the store without me." The woman laughed, causing Monoma to blush and look away.

"He's not my boyfriend!" She responded with a sigh. The woman backed down after noticing how differently the two reacted to her statement.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry for teasing you, how's my son doing? Eijiro hasn't called me since he moved into the dorm."

"I don't talk to him much either, it'd be better to just call him if you want to get a hold of him." (Y/n) began to walk as she spoke, in hopes of getting out of the conversation.

"And why don't you talk to my son? You need to care about your family, (Y/n)!" Kirishima's mother became visibly frustrated with the girl but decided she'd just speak to (Y/n)'s mother about the situation later.

"Okay, I will, but I need to get going."(Y/n) grabbed the side of the cart and dragged it to the checkout without saying goodbye to her aunt. She's never had a good relationship with Kirishima's side of the family and didn't plan on fixing it any time soon.

"Sorry about my aunt, Monoma. I didn't expect to see her here."

"It's fine (Y/n). I really didn't mind what she said." If the boy was being honest he didn't mind at all if others saw them as a couple. He was hoping for it. "But, I also didn't know Kirishima was your cousin." He wanted to know more about the situation and decided to push his luck. (Y/n), not seeing what he was doing, opened up to him.

"Yeah, from my mom's side. Kirishima and I have always been different so I was never close to him, but his mom wanted us to be best friends so we were always together. It was draining."After they finished paying Monoma rushed to grab most of the bags to look like a gentleman. (Y/n) didn't notice his gesture and just went along with it as she didn't want to carry much.

The two continued to talk as they walked back to their dorms, grocery bags in hand.
