Chapter 16 making thoughts clear

I stepped outside of my front door to my house and locked it. I was going to go for a walk and think about what I should do.

When I started to walk down the hill, I noticed a familiar car drive pas me. I turned my head as it went passed. The car lights on the back suddenly turned red... Omg please not be stoping.

I turned away from the direction of the car and started speed walking. "LAYNA!" A voice yelled from behind me. I turned around slowly and saw a young light brown haired boy.

"TAEMIN!" I screamed with excitement. I ran over to him and opened my arms for a hug, he did the same. As Taemin wrapped his arms around me, he lifted me into the air. I don't know why but I was really happy to see him, so happy that it made me forget about Jonghyun.

"How are you?" Taemin asked as he put me down. "I'm fine" I answer. "I was actually just about to go see you" Taemin said pointing the the direction of my house. "Oh really? No way!" I say sarcastically. Taemin chuckled. "So do you want to go somewhere?" He then asked. I nodded and we both got into his car.

*Taemins POV**at the dorm*

I just finished eating my breakfast that Key had cooked me and decided to get a drink. I went to the fridge and looked for my favourite drink banana milk.

"I'm going to make a call so don't disturb me" Jonghyun then said. I quickly took my head out from the fridge and looked to Jonghyun giving him a nod. I watched as Jonghyun went into his room and then went back to looking for the banana milk.

"Laynibabee it's me oppa" Jonghyun yelled with such enthusiasm. Layna! I shot up and quickly snuck over to Jonghyun's room, slamming my back next to Jonghyun's door."Layna are you doing anything today" Jonghyun asked.

No! He isn't gonna spend another day with her! He spent all day yesterday with her and came home so happy and he wouldn't tell us about what he did with her. They must be bonding..

"Aww really?" Jonghyun whined. Layna must have got plans... I felt happy that Jonghyun pretty much got a rejection from Layna.

Onew was walking out of his bedroom and saw me against the wall next to Jonghyun's room. He looked at me confused. "What are you doing Taemin?" Onew asked out loud enough for Jonghyun to hear.Jonghyun went silent. Oh no!

I did a 'go away' signal with my hands to Onew. Onew laughed and put his finger to his lips, I nod. Jonghyun then continued. "So have you thought about last night about you being my girl-" WAIT WHAT!? My heart skipped a beat. No no no! He wasn't going to say girlfriend was he? No! They only spent a day with each other so he couldn't of asked that question now.

"Oh okay well have fun and dink think to much okay, think quickly because I want to see you" Jonghyun then said. What did Layna say?

I didn't hear Jonghyun say anything after that, what was she saying? I leaned closer to the door and pressed my ear onto it. I can't hear anything? Suddenly the door swung open. I fell onto Jonghyun and immediately stood up properly."What are you doing?" Jonghyun asked crossing his arms.

I scratched the back of my neck. "Uh.. Ha ha" I say awkwardly. What do I say? "I was um checking the door to see if it was squeaky!" I quickly say. I quickly grabbed his door and swung it a few times. "Nope not squeaky".

Jonghyun raised an eyebrow and laughed a bit to my answer before walking off to the lounge room. I took a big relief sigh and planted my back onto the wall. That was a close one...

I followed Jonghyun into the lounge room. I sat down on the couch next to Jonghyun giving him secret glances. He didn't have a happy expression on... Did Layna make him sad?Jonghyun then caught me looking at him."What i's it's!" Jonghyun asked. He put his hand to his face "do I have something on my face?". I shook my head.

We sat in silence until Jonghyun broke it off."Do you know where Layna lives?" Jonghyun asked.I nodded "yes why?" I asked."Well because you don't have a schedule this morning" he sighed and looked over to me. "Can you go check on her?" He then added.Why is he asking this? Is Layna sick!? Hurt? Or doesn't Layna want to see Jonghyun?

I nod. "Why can you go see her?" I asked. I was really curious what was happening."Well I have a schedule today and I won't be able to see her and I think she is going to be alone all day." Jonghyun then said. I actually just wanted to hear 'I asked her out, she said no' I would of been so happy."I will go soon" I answer and stand up. I really didn't want to go because Jonghyun wants me too. I'm going for me.

*with Layna*

We walked into a little cafe that was in her town area. I had a little disguise on but I don't think anyone would of noticed me if I didn't have one on.We sat on a table near the front window, sitting opposite to each other. Layna had her blonde hair all out, it was wavy and looked really light and puffy. Her eyes were so blue, so pretty.

She looked out the window. I watched her every move. She twirled her hair around her finger and looked like she was in deep thought. She then smiled, what was she thinking of?

"What are you thinking?" I ask."Just something" she said still looking out the window. She then looked over to me. "Why did you want to see me?" She added.

I didn't want to tell her the real reason why I was here but... "Jonghyun told me to come see you" I couldn't lie.Layna sighed and raised an eyebrow "really?" She face palmed."Mmm. A-are you okay?" I asked. She looked a little sad.

Layna looked to me and nodded. "I'm totally fine" she said sarcastically. She looked to her menu.I found myself staring at her again. She would lick her lips from time to time, maybe from reading the tasty food. 'I wonder how tasty her lips are?' I slapped my cheek to the thought. Layna didn't notice.

Her lips though we're so pink and glossy, I do wish I could kiss those lips everyday to see what the different flavours it would have.I hit my cheek again, my cheeks began to go red. I'm heating up from thinking about her lips. Stop it Taemin!

"Hey Taemin, what would you like? I'll buy" Layna says looking over to me. I haven't seen the menu yet so I quickly looked for a meal and told her.It wasn't long until we got our meals and we began to eat.

I looked to Layna who was enjoying her food. "So what did you do yesterday with Jonghyun?" I asked. I needed to know, I'm so curious.She glanced to me and continued to eat her food. "He took me an amusement park and then out for dinner and then we went Ice skating" she said seriously as she kept eating. She looked to cute.

"Really?" I say not surprised. It sounds I lot like something I had planned. I continue to eat my food. "Did you have fun?" I asked not looking to her."Yeah I did" she said happily. She went quiet. I looked up and saw her not eating. "There was some issues" she then added upset.

"Issues?" I asked. She made me so curious that I was sitting at the end of my chair.She just nodded. But I wanted to know! We finished eating our food and headed out the cafe. We didn't talk at the moment, Layna looked exhausted.

"Layna what were the issues?" I asked while we walked to me car. She was infront of me and suddenly turned around. She looked into my eyes."What was the issue?" I asked again."Jonghyun asked me to be his girlfriend" she said in a disappointed tone. I was so confused to me feelings after she said those words. I felt like I was hit with a thousand sharp knives to my heart... When I already knew that he asked her out.

But hearing it from her made me feel like I got shot. To hear that someone else asked her to be their girlfriend.I quickly looked down because I knew I looked so upset. "An-and what did you say?" I asked quietly. I really hope it's what I heard!"Well I didn't say yes" Layna answered. YES!!!"But I didn't say no" she then added. Whhhhaaattt? "I said that I was going to think about it" she then said. She still hasn't made up her mind!?

"Should I say yes? I mean Jonghyun is really nice and funny and charmin-" I stopped listening to her. I looked at her smile, it was so real so bright and she looked so happy as she talked about... Jonghyun. 'Layna likes Jonghyun' and that's all I got from what she was saying.I stopped her from talking and walked to me car.

"Taemin!?" Layna asked.I sighed and looked to her with a fake smile. "I'm going to take you somewhere" I say. If Layna likes some else and not me, well I can't do anything about that and I don't want to stop her. I need to do what's going to make Layna happy.*end of Taemin's pov*

*Layna's pov*

Taemin was driving me to an unknown destination. He wouldn't tell me where we were going.I looked to Taemin a few times and noticed that he looked a little washed out.

We stopped at a big building. Screaming girls with signs were outside. "Where are we?" I asked. Taemin always seems to take me to strange buildings.He didn't answer me instead he put on some sunglasses and a hat, "Taemin why are you putting on a disguise?" I asked. He looked to me and slid some sunglasses on me and put a hat on me.

"Let's go" he said and opened his door, I did too. We both got out of the car. All screamin girls crowded me until I felt someone hold my hand. Taemin pulled me quickly into the building.

We went into the elevator, still holding hands. It was a quiet trip. Taemin didn't even look at me. We got to a floor and Taemin walked out of the elevator first pulling me along.

There was alot of music playing and talking. A boy walked out of a room. He looked so familiar. He stared at me and then pointed to me. He then smiled and waved. I waved back but still wasn't sure who he was.

Hang on... Was that Kai? From exo?Hang on... Taemin couldn't of taken me to... Sm studio?

Taemin pulled me to a room. He opened the door and looked to me "Ladies first" Taemin said like a gentlemen. I nodded and walked in. I entered the room to see... To see..

"Issho ni odorou waratte yo Oh babyWatching all the Watching all the girls go byIJIWARU shinai de kocchi muite yo babyWatching all the Watching all the girls go byOh Oh OhTsuyoki na girls go byOh oh oh"

It was SHINee playing boys meet u. "Sorry I'm late" Taemin said walking over to them but then stopped and turned to me. Taemin walked back to me and pulled me over to Jonghyun "here" Taemin said to Jonghyun.

I looked to Jonghyun awkwardly and then to Taemin "why!?" I whined. I turned to the door and started to walk off but I got stopped by Jonghyun."Please don't go, I've missed you so much" Jonghyun excitedly said and hugged me. I looked at the others in shock as Jonghyun hugged me. Jonghyun then pulled away. "Have you thought about it?" He asked.

I looked over to Taemin... Did he bring me here so I could answer. I was about to say something when Minho pulled me over to him.

"She needs to give us hugs as well!" Minho said. He gave me a quick hug. I felt very thankful to him because Jonghyun brought up that question again.This hug was followed by Onew and then Key.After Key hugged me, he went to Jonghyun. "What are you saying Jonghyun? Are you keeping secrets from us all?" Key asked angrily.

Jonghyun quickly shook his head "I asked her to be-" I cut Jonghyun off before he could say any more."It's nothing, he just wants me to plan the next date or what ever" I say trying to make it sound normal. I heard a chuckle from Taemin. Key put his hands on his hips.

"Really?" He asked not convinced. I nodded. I need to think of something to change the subject...Got one! "Show me a song!" I say really fast and loud. I glanced over to Taemin to a little smile escape on his face.

What is he smiling about? I looked back to Key "please?" I add nicely."Okay then" Onew answered with excitement."Shall we then?" Onew asked the other boys, giving them a motivation smile. They all nodded. "We will do boys meet u" Onew adds. I nod.

I went and sat against the mirror to watch.At first I watched them all dance but my eyes kept wondering off to Jonghyun and I'm sure the boys noticed. After they finished they all sat down infront of me. Jonghyun was the closest of course. "Layna?" Taemin asked me. It looks like the dancing made him happy.

"Yes?" I reply.

"Can you dance for us?" He asks with excellent puppy eyes. I couldn't resist. I guess I'm an okay dancer so I can dance for them.. Maybe it will calm my thoughts.

"Okay I'll pick a song" I answer standing up. I pulled my phone out and went over to plug it into the stereo. All the boys twirled around and leaned onto the mirror.

Don't get nervous okay Layna, you will humiliate yourself in front of ... SHINee! Oh no what am I doing!? I'm about to dance in front of SHINee! You really need to do your best!

I took a deep breath to calm myself down. I looked over to all the boys. All smiling and patiently waiting. I turned back to my phone and scrolled down my music... Hmmmmmm.

I got to the point where I couldn't choose a song. I just kept thinking that if I pick a song that has sexy parts, I will get embarrassed. I then got pushed to the side by Key. "I'll pick a song" he took my phone off me and scrolled through my music.

75% of my music is SHINee so I was it was a little embarrassing. Key laughed and looked to me. "Great music you have here" he said and winked. I chuckled.

"Okay got one" key then said. "What is it?" I asked. He didn't answer. He just smirked. Key clicked on the song and sat the phone down. He ran over to sit with the others while I ran over and stood in front of them.

When the song started I knew exactly what it was... SHINee Lucifer.

They started to clap and laugh when I worked out what song it was from the first second of the song. The song finished and I reckon I did it well. They all clapped. I bowed.

"Wow Layna I didn't know you could dance!" Taemin said happily. I laughed "there's a lot that you don't know about me" I say and glanced to Jonghyun. From the dancing, it cooled me off but looking at Jonghyun after I finished dancing, my thoughts crawled back in but this time it came more clearer.

I smiled to myself.

I think I like Jonghyun, more than a fan crush. I think I am willing to take the chance and date him.
