Chapter 5

Athy p. O. V.

I came out of the hall after the concert ended... I finally did it.. The conductor this time was my music school teacher .. He was always so strict, seeing him again made me reminiscence my college days , I Said bye to my colleagues , pfft.. they look exhausted , he really is so strict ..

As I was walking towards the entrance.. I saw lucas in the distance standing there leaning on the staircase looking stunning as usual .. Everyone passing by was staring at him gasping.. I sighed as I walked towards him, he also saw me and started walking in my direction...what now..?

" are you here to see me...?" I asked

" yeah, let's go.."

he said grabbing my hand as soon as he reached me and dragged me towards his car and made me sit inside, then he went to the driver seat.

" what now..?!"

I asked securing the seat belt. He always do everything as he wish . So it's no use fighting with him.

" we are going to my office .. I will tell you there"

he said as he started driving.. When we reached the office.. Which was a private office I think... He suddenly handed me some papers.. I stared at the papers confused as I Sit on the couch.. Huh.. What..?!

He suddenly kneeled before me as he held my hand gently and put on a ring  and I gasped in surprise.

"Lucas..!!! What..?!!" I shouted in surprise but he interrupted me.

"Athanasia.. From now on.. you are my wife.. We are married now.."

he said in a serious tone holding my hand. I stared at him dumbfounded.. Who in the world will get married like this..?! May be us.. Or only us..?!

Pfft.. I think my life was supposed to be like this.. chaotic and totally abnormal ... this lunatic guy... When I looked up and stared at his eyes.. I can feel the sincereness in his words...

Bathump... Bathump.... My heart thumped faster... Even though what's happening right now doesn't make any  sense at all.. I felt so happy inside.. I felt warmth rushing throughout my body..

"huh.. What..?!!"

I asked in daze.. I was too surprised to speak .. He Sat beside me still Holding my hands.. His hands are perfectly big to completely cover mine and they are surprisingly warm!!.. He pointed at the papers.. I read them and looked back at him.

' haah.. What now...?! Is she going to slap me again..? I don't mind but I have no choice here'

Lucas thought..but to his surprise she giggled.

'huh.. I thought she would be mad.. But..'

He stared at her giggling silently for a minute, then his lips curved into a small smile without knowing himself

' how can someone' s smile be this beautiful ..?!! 'he thought still staring at her in daze.

" pfft.. Haha.. Lucas.. I was at loss for words.. Who in the world will get married like this..? And what's with you today..?!!"

I asked giggling.. I can't control my laughter. Everything seem so funny to me..

' I don't know what's going on..? How did the past changed..? Lucas didn't behaved like this before and what's with this sudden marriage.. ?!! I don't know what to do.. It's all too sudden..this guy always do whatever he wants.

" i will tell you later , so sign them quickly, we don't have much time left before that Oldman come ."

he said checking his watch.

who is he waiting for..? and I have to sign this..? Wait..

"Lucas what's wrong with the date of the marriage..?!!"

I asked cause it's exactly the date I first met him in texas.

"this way.. I can make one false rumour become true..so please sign this.. I will explain everything later.. I know I would look like a maniac.. I talked like that yesterday and today asking you to marry me but there are so many things you have to know, but before anything else ,please sign this.. This is the only way I can make you two stay safe "

he said in a serious tone and i stared at him for a while

"Two of us safe ?  are you saying austin will be safe only if I sign this..? "

I asked and he nodded a yes and sighed.

" austin was in danger..?!! " I asked ..

I know everything but I can't act like that.. I should maintain this facade so that I won't look suspicious

" yeah he is..but Don't worry.. I won't let anything happen to him, for that I need this as a first thing... now... sign this.. come on quick.. "

he hurried me..if I sign this we will become a married couple.. May be it's for good.. If I can stay beside him I can able to find some ways to save him.. I signed all the documents

'haah.. Finally she signed them.. She really signed because I said austin was in danger..? How lucky he is to have such a good mom..!!' Lucas thought .

When I finished signing them he took them from me and called cabel.. He gestured me to come with him and we left his office and went straight to my house.

On our way home, lucas was busy on his phone while I stared outside in daze.

haah.. I don't know what's going on anymore.. Did I caused some butterfly effect and everything changed...?!! I don't know.. But there is one thing clear to me.. I can't rely on past memories anymore ..

everything will change from now on.. I have to find a way to save austin and lucas and to be safe . ' while I was in my own train of thoughts he finally ended his call and talked to me..

" you are OK with moving in with me right..? Even if you aren't.. you have no choice left"

he said in monotone.. his eyes fixed on the road.

" hmm.. It's ok.. when am I moving in with you..?" I asked turning towards him.

P. O. V. Ends. - - - - -

"hmm.. Right now.."

he said still staring at the road.. He didn't heared anything back and looked beside him to see her glaring at him.

"you really do whatever you want.. " she said sighing and he smirked.

" We already informed your friend Helena and your things will be moved within two hours .. Let's go to our home first.." he said and she turned back to staring at window annoyed. he just smirked seeing her reaction, even her mad face looked cute to him.

They reached his home and he parked the car in the garage.. Athy got out of the car and looked around.

" woahh.. he calls this a house..?!! This a whole mansion.. This magnate guy.. "

As I was looking around I spotted helly standing there with cabel holding Austin in his arms

i walked towards them . Austin held out his hands as soon as he saw me.. i took him from cabel .

"tintin.. Are you waiting for mommy..?" i asked kissing his cheek.

" athy dear... Congratulations on your marriage..!! "

helly said hugging me

"I always wondered who in the world made our great athanasia trip but.. wow...!! Which girl won't fall for this Greek God statue..?!! I am proud of you girl.."

She whispered in my ear and winked. I rolled my eyes annoyed.. Now she will enjoy teasing me until she gets bored.. .

"hello Athanasia.. Nice to meet you in person.. I am cabel waner.. Close Friend of lucas and helly.." he said helding his hand out and we shook hands

P. O. V Ends

"nice to meet you too cabel.. I am athanasia.. Just call me athy " she said smiling.

"Athy.. let's go inside, we have to arrange your things first" helly said dragging her inside..

" lucas.. I think I know why now.." he said nudging lucas who stood there with a stone face.. He raised one of his eyebrows staring at him like asking him 'what'..? .

" she is a goddess.. a real goddess.!!! holy Christ..!! I am so happy for you.. Your family is so beautiful !!"

Cabel said enthusiastically smiling.. Lucas stared at him with a blank face..

"family..?! Beautiful..?! Haah.. Don't you know how my life already was.. I am already stressed that I dragged those two into this hell... Stop your nonsense" lucas said irritated before walking inside.

' hmm.. I know very well.. But you deserve this family lucas.. I am sure she will change you.. Your life.. I can say that just by looking at her face.. Athy was that type of person ' he thought and smiled.

Lucas went inside and saw helly unpacking her things and athy was setting her closet.. Austin was sleeping on the couch in the hall..

He stared at him before walking into his office and started working.

He lost track of time as he was indulged in his work. When he came out... It was already night .. He looked around surprised.. Athy changed the whole place.!!. It's not the same dull and dark place anymore.. It's filled with their things and it's too bright for him.. His eyes landed on athy who is lying beside austin sleeping like a baby..

He walked towards them and stared at her for a while then his lips curved into a small smile.. ' she sleeps like a baby' he thought.

"hmm.. Lucas.." he heard helly's voice and looked up.

"I can call you lucas right..?" she asked smiling and he nodded a yes.

" I will get going.. Athy was so tired and she had dinner so if austin woke up in the middle please give him his milk . She already prepared it.. It's in the kitchen.. Bye then.. Please take good care of these two.." she said smiling and went out..

"wait..." he said walking behind her.. She turned back.

" are you going back alone..?" he asked and she nodded a yes.

" I came here driving my car so yeah.." she said

" no, it's late.. go home in my car and tell the address to my driver.. Don't worry He is a reliable person" he said and she stared at him surprised.

'he is surprisingly considerate despite his cold appearance' she thought and smiled Nodding a yes

"thanks lucas good night" she said walking out. He closed the door and locked it.

' helena is like how cabel is to me for her and she helped me a lot taking care of austin in the past.. I should treat her well this time' he thought locking the door.

He went inside and saw her sleeping and austin was up.. He looked up at him his sapphire eyes glowing brightly..

"myaa.. Khaa"

he made sounds shaking his hands and legs.. He carried athy in princess style, laid her carefully on the bed and tucked her inside the bedsheet. He walked outside and austin held his tiny hand up telling lucas to lift him.. Lucas carried him in his arms..

'he looks smaller than before' he thought..

"baah.. Guu" he made sounds tapping his shoulder.

'are you hungry..?'

he thought walking towards the kitchen and his milk was readily placed on the dining table.. He shook the feeding bottle and fed him the milk..

'his cheeks looks so cute while drinking.. So fluffy..' he thought slightly poking his cheek with a small smile..

He made sure he drank all the milk and then patted his back.. He learned all this from helly while taking care of austin.

He put the bottle down on the table and walked here and there patting his back.. Austin leaned his head on his shoulder and buried his face on his neck.. Lucas gently patted his back walking here and there...

Athy's P. O. V

oh my God...!! I slept... I have to feed austin and.. I got up  from the bed and looked around ..

huh.. When did I came to the bed.? And where is Austin..? I am sure I am sleeping on the couch with him. I walked outside.. Then I saw something.. Soo beautiful...!!!

Lucas was hugging austin in his arms and walking here and there gently patting his back and austin was sleeping peacefully burying his face on his dad's neck ...

This is the first time lucas is holding austin in his hands..!!! For Austin too it's his first time in his dad's hands.. At that time, lucas was so hesitant to even touch him because of all the blood in his hands.. I am glad I had the chance to see this beautiful sight.!!! He is really weird what he said yesterday and how he act today is totally opposite..

Why is he lulling the son he doesn't want to have to sleep with this much care..?!! Then, why did he said something like that..?!! That's the reason I started hating him in the past.

If only I didn't know the future, there is no way I would have never  agreed to stay with him.. I would have thrown tantrum and stayed stubborn until the end..

Lucas turned and saw me standing there and he stared at me like a five years old who caught stealing cookies.. Pfft.. Cute..

"you are really weird you know.. What you speak and do are totally opposite" I said folding my hands and he turned his face away..

This jerk.. is he ignoring me...? By the way it's surprising how does he know how to carry Austin , exactly in this way which i use for Austin to sleep ?!

Then he walked towards me to give austin but i told him not to.

" austin is so sensitive.. He will wake up even if there is a slight movement ." I said and he patted his back when austin turned his face.

"see.. So put him on bed yourself" I said as I walked away he went to the room and came outside after sometime when I was drinking water.. He stared at me scratching his nape..

- - - - - - - p. O. V. Ends

"yesterday.. That.. I am sorry.. I didn't mean it it's a slip of  tongue ." he said in a hesistant tone.

"hmm.. But I really got hurt on what you said about austin .." she said. He stared at her silently

'of course I know.. You don't even mind dying for your son..' he thought.

" I am really sorry.. I was frustrated  that you two got dragged into this mess.. " he mumbled.

" hmm.. OK..then " she said and smiled

" huh..?" he tilted his head confused.

"I will forgive you.. But make sure to ask sorry to austin and be good to him" she said and he stared at her dumbfounded for a while...

'huh.. That's it..? I thought she wouldn't listen to me that's why I sent cabel to tell her the news.. She is.. So easygoing' he thought.

"and if you don't mind.. Can you tell me what exactly is that mess I stepped in.. Cause I can't live on knowing nothing"

she said as she walked towards the couch and comfortably Sat cross-legged with a pillow on her lap. Lucas Sat beside her and sighed.

" My family don't do fair business , they are in ties with most of the other big shot businessmen and government officials who were also fraud like them ..

You know.. How a devil join hands with another devil.. They become rich by doing nothing but bad things .. Killing wasn't even a big deal for them.. They killed so many people to be where they are now.. And there is this crazy thing they do in this family for generations..

The weak ones will be eliminated.. I don't know why the fuck they follow something like this but they do..

They ruin the life of other possible heir so that they would be the only one to have everything.

since my grandpa was getting old he was about to transfer his authorities to the next in line.. And now there is me and my cousin Levon.. So it's not just a fight for power. It's my fight for survival.. "

he said and looked at her, she was hearing everything with curious eyes .

" is this interesting to you..?!!"

he asked raising one of his eyebrows. He was surprised by her unfazed reaction even though he mentioned murder and death.

" yep.. Your family is like that psychotic family in thriller movies..!! So interesting !! at the same time so creepy..!! " she said animatedly.. And he chuckled ...

She stared at him surprised.. It's her first time seeing him smile or laugh..

"hmm.. You should smile more..." she blurted out.. He stopped laughing and Stared at her confused

" huh..? "

" you look more handsome when you smile .." she said smiling and he stared at her..

" what am I in your thriller story..?" he asked diverting her comment.

" of course you are the hero.." she said and smiled.

"and you...?"

he asked leaning comfortably on the couch... And turned his head towards her.

"hmm.. Me..? I must be an obstacle character in your story.. Right..?" she said with a funny expression and he chuckled again without knowing himself

" aren't you the heroine.. Who would have to survive along with the hero..?" he asked.

" hehe.. Am I The heroine..? Then I am glad.. "she said smiling..

" glad to die with me..? " he asked in a 'are you serious..? ' tone.

" Nope.. After hearing what you said I feel guilty that I become a burden to you.. But I am glad you don't think like that.. I am sorry..

Now I kinda understand why you were mad at me but still I won't ask sorry regarding austin.. He may become a burden to you but he is my whole world.. "

she said crouching her legs and hugging them leaning her face on her knees.

" No.. He wasn't.. I am really sorry.. Yeah I was so mad  but that wasn't intentional "he said sitting up straight.

' she said my smile was beautiful.. but I Never saw a smile as beautiful as hers.. My heart skips a beat everytime she smile and I know I am smiling back like it's default ...

I never wanted to talk to someone all night as much as I do with her.. I don't even know when was the last time I smiled or laughed.. I felt like I forgot that emotions existed.. When I am with her, I feel like a huge burden was lifted off from my shoulders and I feel so warm inside... How did I became like this..!! Pfft.. She is really... Something.. '

he thought and chuckled as he listened to her talking to him animatedly.

P. S.. I am in the middle of my exams .. So I studied till late night but then they announced rain holiday.. I don't know whether I should feel relieved or get more stressed 😵.. So I decided I should just take a break before getting back to study..

When I was checking this draft for mistakes before posting I got reminded of how I write this chapter secretly during a boring lecture..

Do you ever get reminded of something you did in the past while looking back at it like this .? Isn't it feel good.? ☺️

Little things which make us happy..😘

OK.. I should get some sleep as well.. I am talking nonstop...
