Chapter 28

18:18, 19 December 2025

The day was peaceful, the sun shining. Everybody at UA was looking forward to the sports festival, one of the biggest events of the year. But beyond the festivities was a tense preparation. The heroes and school principal were planning how to ensure the safety of students, especially after the villain attack in USJ.

Around the meeting table, all the teachers were sitting listening to Nezu.

Although nobody could quite tell what species the principal was, they all trusted his intelligence and guidance.

"Aizawa-kun, please" Nezu said.

Aizawa stood up his whole face bandaged with slits of his eyes and mouth. "Yes. Two days before the incident, cameras in the teachers area had stopped working suddenly. This happened at the same time as the alarm that sounded. It's hard to assume that this was a coincidence. And considering the teleportation quirk, we have reason to believe this is the time where they infiltrated to get the class schedule and knew class A was going to be in the USJ training zone."

Nezu nodded at him and Aizawa sat down. Nezu continued the next part, "All might had also reported a student with a teleportation quirk which upon investigation appeared to be from the general department, Nishimura Kira." All might's hand twitched before he opened the report in front of him. Not many people with the same name as her. He glanced at the folder, scanning the picture of the student. Blonde hair, blue eyes. No resemblance at all.

A small sigh went out that almost sounded disappointed. All might tuned back in to the principal.

"The student had snuck in to watch the training and mentioned when I spoke to her that she wanted to be in the hero department." Nezu smiled, " a teleportation quirk is quite rare and can be useful against this new league of villains. However, we're still not sure of their motive. The main priority is to ensure the safety of the students especially with the upcoming sports festival." Everybody nodded.

The rest of the meeting was discussing the plans for the sports festival before everybody stood up. "Aizawa-kun," Aizawa turned going to the principal as others filtered out of the room, "I want you to keep an eye on Nishimura Kira. Although I hate suspecting students, her timing was a bit too coincidental. If she shows potential during the sports festival, she can join the hero course but we cannot disregard the fact that two teleportation quirks appeared at the same time. One from the villains and one from a student."

"Yes principal."

"Anybody can tell me what is the.."

Her head almost slipped and hit the desk. She was supporting it with her hand as she let out a quiet breath. Two more days.. the teacher continued talking and she blinked trying to focus or at least appear focused, Two more days then I'm out of here.

If it wasn't for Nezu's visit, she would have ditched the whole class thing. Her priority now was getting home. The teacher droned on. Yes, no more involving myself.

"Blah blah quirks blah blah origin blah blah theory, now why is this important?"

Keira sat a bit upright. Was he talking about.. "..quirk theory?" She muttered her eyebrow raising, mind now alert. Maybe this can help with the portal thing.

".. was once a time where people had no quirks. Now 80% of society has some sort of quirk. The main thing we'll focus on today is understanding quirks and how each one of you can redirect it in different ways to benefit society."

So some become heroes and others use quirks in different jobs, Keira thought to herself glancing at the other students, makes sense for the general department.

" quirks are thought to be inherently genetic. They are inherited most of the times similar to traits such as hair color or eye shape." The teacher drew a body and making an outline around it, "quirks take up from the body's energy just like any muscle. As a result, the limitations of your quirk are related to multiple factors one of which is your body's strength as well as your quirk's output potential."

"Okay.." she played with the pen in her hand thinking.

The doctor said my quirk was unstable, Keira pushed the book on her desk to the side to get to her journal. She started jotting down some notes after his words. Better to write all of it down. She drew to the side a man with a head mask, noting under him AFO. Arrow, then quirk factors.

That bastard must've done something that day.. her hand shook as she tried to contain herself. She turned back to the notebook, arrow between quirk factor then physical abilities.

I should ask him more after class, Keira put the pen down glancing at the clock on the wall.

Twenty minutes remai-

"I AM HERE.. ON A SIDE MISSION!"

Keira jumped three meters her pen flying, not expecting the voice booming through class. Her heart thumped loud at the sight of All might slamming the door open with a heroic pose.

No!! What the hell is he doing here?!

Her head snapped down to her hair making sure it's blonde. All might laughed as the teacher and all the class got excited about him visiting. She hunched down hoping he wouldn't see her. She was sweating buckets, why the hell is he here?!

Their homeroom teacher apparently had the same thought and asked why the hero had visited. All might looked towards the students. Keira ducked down a bit more, her shoulders hunching.

Not for me probably. Hopefully. She had a bad feeling.

It was hard to tell who he was looking at but- shit - His head was facing her direction and even though there were students around her and his eyes weren't visible from the shadows around them, she felt them land on her.

"Actually, I came here-" don't say it, she panicked. "-to get-" He raised his arm pointing at her. No no no. "-young NISHIMURA!" He beamed before handing the teacher a note.

Her face was scrunched up in a constipated look as she groaned internally. The whole class was now looking at her. This is not happening, this is not happeni-

They walked through the empty UA hallways. "General department hmm young Nishimura." He beamed at her, "I assume you're interested in the hero course?"

She nodded not looking at him. Her body was tense as she told every fiber of her to act normal. "Well, there will be opportunities to show that interest! Your quirk is teleportation?"

She nodded again. All might's smile faltered a bit before going back full force, "It's a very useful quirk! Can you tell me more how it works?"

She looked up at him finding he was grinning with curiosity. Her head swung back forward, her body stiff her hand trembling for a second. Walking next to All might seemed to amplify his large form. It was getting harder not to just bolt and call it a day. "M-my quir.. ehem" she cleared her throat when her voice cracked, sweat rolling down her forehead. She breathed in before steeling herself, "my quirk is teleportation. I can t-teleport myself to wherever I want."

Another breath in as All might silently waited for her to continue. "..I c-can also teleport o-other stuff and people, but it takes effort."

The sound of their footsteps filled the silence, and Keira took that moment to pull herself together, "C-cool right?" She grinned at him hoping her expression looked normal.

All might was silent, his face still in that smile but looking ahead. The quirk isn't similar.. He shook his head slightly, ending the thought. "Yes, it's amazing young lady. With your quirk-" he turned to her before he had to hold back a flinch, his smile straining. What is that expression on her face?! Her large smile twitched, her eyes wide. A fan maybe..?

He couldn't help asking though, sweat dropping on the side of his forehead, "..um, are you okay?"

Keira swung her head forward again, this time both of them awkward. Thankfully, it was over as they reached the principal's office.

"Well, that's the end of my part. I'll leave you to meet the principal!" He said as she tiredly nodded. She reached out to knock on the door but jumped when his hand landed on her shoulder, "Young Nishimura, your quirk is rare and can be very useful." He waited until she looked at him, noting how she didn't meet his eyes more than a second. He continued, "But please don't throw yourself in danger like that. Always try to teleport yourself or others to safety."

Keira swallowed heavily opening her mouth. What should she say? Is this being scolded? Her mind felt slow, only aware of the hand on her shoulder. She closed her mouth nodding again. All might stepped back  before knocking on the door, "Well then, I'm off!"

She watched his retreating form. Her hand raised a bit towards him almost reaching out. Even though he was too far. Even though it was her fault. Her fingers closed before she lowered her arm.

She went inside.

Nezu looked up before getting off his chair to greet her. "Ah, you're here." He gestured to the sofa as he went to sit on the one in front of it. Keira sat down. All might had dropped her at the door before leaving. "I thought we could continue our conversation from last time." Her eyes went to the plates and teacups on the table.

The principal smiled, "And I prepared some crackers and tea this time!"

All might reached the office, his form poofing back into a thin man. This was the limit for today, he sighed frowning a bit.

"A phone call is here! A phone call is here!" His eyes brightened, hopefully some good news.

He clicked the answer button.

"Hi Tsukauchi-kun, any news?"

"Not yet All might. We couldn't find any leads regarding her whereabouts."

"I see."

"She's not in Tokyo anymore though." All might sat up listening. "Last place she was spotted was entering a hotel in Musutafu."

She was here. His other hand gripped the table. She was close.

"There is one strange thing though. Our team kept on checking the cameras but she hasn't come out from the hotel a single time after that." Tsukauchi added. All might's eyebrows knitted together.

"That's weird. Maybe she was wearing a cap or her face was hidden-"

"No, all the people who came out of the hotel over the days afterward were clearly spotted by the cameras. Most had either different appearances, ages, or genders. I will send you the hotel's name, All might."

Finally, his eyes were determined as his grip loosened of his desk, I found you. "Thank you Tsukauchi-kun."

It was the end of the day. Keira sighed looking up at the building. I actually made it. I hope this is the right call.

The meeting with Nezu was expected. That's why she had chose teleportation as a quirk. But still, "Does it all matter?" Her head had a lot of things bouncing around but for now.. she needed to finish this. Keira let out a breath before going inside. Her hair went back to black, her eyes grey again. She went up the stairs before opening the door.

There he was. Green hair streaked with yellow. He didn't look up still writing on the forms sharply. The corners of her lips quirked up as she glanced at the All might tapestry and full-size figure in his office. Her heart calmed down a bit.

"Not even a single visit, all these years?" Her voice was full of mirth. His eyes widened pen halting. "Aren't you going to say hello, Nighteye?" She took a few steps. He looked up, surprise evident in his features. The surprise increased as he took in her appearance. Even with much longer hair and more mature features, Shane Keira still looked almost the same. And with her appearance came all the events that happened eighteen years ago. He had to hold back a grimace as he schooled his expression.

"You don't look that different, Shane."

She sat down smiling at him, "Neither do you."
