Chapter 3

20:37, 9 October 2021

Melly remembered the funeral. They buried an empty casket since a body wasn't found. Many people attended, but none wasn't as heartbroken as Melly. She lost the love of her life. They were supposed to go on another honeymoon and hopefully start a family together. Melly blinked and realized she spaced out again.

Melly is sitting near the campfire with other people. The other people talk with each other. Melly didn't say anything and stared at the fire. Soon a scream was heard. A researcher ran over to the camp.

"Philip, what's wrong?" Dr. Thompson asked.

"We saw some reptilian monster. It was near me and Barry, but we both ran. I lost Barry for a few minutes and when I came back, a cheetah murdered him." Philip explained. Some others in the group gasped.

"There is no such thing as monsters." Jose said. He was one of the folks near the campfire.

"We're in danger!" Philip screamed.

"Calm down, boy." Dr. Thompson said while he walked over to the lad. Melly wondered what REALLY killed her husband. Maybe it was a cheetah, snake, or whatever this monster Philip is yelling about. Unknown to them, a pair of red eyes were watching from the distance.

The group thought they might not run into more of the monster, however, that was wrong. When Melly woke up the next morning. She put her beekeeper mask on, put some clothes on, and walked out of her tent. She sees some of the researchers looking concerned and a bloody trail leading into the jungle. Melly walked over to a researcher named Emily.

"What happened?" Melly asked.

"Not sure, but they found a dead body a little further into the woods." Emily explained.

"I bet it was that monster I saw." Philip said.

"Why is some reptile after us? Maybe we're in its territory." someone else said.

"There is no monster. We should be fine." Jose said. Dr. Thompson led the group into the jungle. There were no problems in the jungle. However, when they got back to the campsite, it was a complete mess.

There was writing on the ground in the blood that said, "Leave this place and never come back." A lot of the researchers looked freaked out. Melly sees Dr. Thompson whisper to Jose and his men. Melly doesn't know why, but she doesn't sense something right going on. The rest of the day consisted of cleaning up the camp and setting up new tents for anyone whose tent got ruined. Luckily for Melly, her tent was fine and wasn't damaged. She's currently in her tent, sitting on her sleeping bag. She's looking through a photo album of her and her husband.

"I miss you...I will find out what happened to you." Melly whispered to herself.
