Chapter 2

"When will you be back?" A woman with brunette hair in a bun with a braid said. "It will be a 2-week trip." A man with shoulder-length hair in a braid and glasses. He's standing next to his luggage. The woman runs into his arms and buries her face in his chest. She looks up at her husband. "I'll miss you so much." She said to her husband. "I'll miss you too, honey." Her husband said. She looks up and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. He smiles lovingly at her."Once I get back, we can go on another honeymoon, and try for children." Her husband said and his wife looked surprised."C-children?!" She stuttered."Once I get back from my trip, I definitely want to stay home and start a family with you. That's if you want a family." Her husband said. His wife had tears of joy."I love to have a family with you." She said to him. "Ms. Plinius." A voice said. Melly blinks and snaps out of her daydream. She's sitting in her tent and looks up at a woman with brunette hair and wearing purple in her clothes. Her name is Vera and she's mostly there to find perfume scents. "It's not Ms. Plinius, it's-" before Melly could finish, she gets interrupted by Vera."Whatever, we're about to go into the jungle and we need to stay together." Vera said. She leaves the tent and leaves Melly there. Melly remembered it's the second day of them being in the jungle. Camp is set out in a clearing. Melly sighed and grabbed her backpack. She walks outside the tent and sees the group ready to go. She sees Dr. Thompson was talking to the captain of the ship the group came on. The captain's name is Jose. Jose walks back to where the boat is with some of his boys. "Alright, follow me. Please do not wander off and stay together." The guide, Kurt said. He led the way and everyone else followed. Melly kept to herself and didn't say anything. She noticed at one point Vera wandering off on her own. Melly didn't pay it any mind, but later on, she'll wish she did.Later on, the group stopped in a clearing and heard a scream. Everyone went in that direction. When they got there, they saw high up in the tree branches in Vera. There was light on her, but it was obvious there was something else in the branches hidden in the shadows. Vera backs away from whatever it was. The minute she did, the branch she stood on broke and she fell a big distance. Her head hit a rock and she cracked her skull. She dies in an instant. The creature hissed in the shadows. They didn't fall since they're standing on a different branch. The rest of the group looked terrified. They could see a pair of glowing red eyes in the shadow. All of them, including Melly.
