Lorelei's POV

The dinner went off smoothly with us catching up in each other's life. Tita Fridge mostly ask about how am I doing for the last year's but other than that, there's none.

But one question lead me and Luthor in an awkward position.

"So tell me Lorelei dear, when did you and my eldest son started dating?" Tita Fridge asked that made Tito Odin and Loki look at us. Tito Odin has this amuse smile on his face while the latter remained a straight face.

I sipped on my water before answering her while waving my hands "No. We're not dating Tita. I mean, Luthor and I are just friends. We casually meet outside sometimes."

Tita Fridge slightly raised a brow. From the look on her face, I know she's not believing my answer so she glance at my seatmate.

"We're still working on that."

Yes, we are. Wait- We are what? Huh?

I immediately look at Luthor but he didn't made a single glance at me and just continued eating.

I look at the others and I only saw them smiling, except for the man in front of me who's glaring at me. What's his problem again?

"Really son? I can't wait for you both to be in a relationship then. I am so happy. Oh my god."

I just continued eating after that while giving her a small smile.

Oh my god too.

THE dinner ended and here I am in their living area waiting for Luthor. His father asked him to go upstairs because they have to talk about something important. While Tita Fridge is in her office talking to someone on her phone. Loki on the other hand is nowhere to be found.

I got myself busy by roaming my eyes. It's been a long time since I got in here. The Mendez family always invite me to their parties but it's not always in their mansion. Sometimes it's in a hotel or event hall so it's my first time again after a long time.

"Do you remember the first time you got in here?" Loki spoke behind me that made me startled a little.

"When Jamie and I was "kidnapped" and later on find out that we are tested by your father? Yes I did." That made me miss Jamie again.

We remained silent for a while both reminiscing the past that we both know would never come back. He's the first one to break the silence.

"How long have you two been dating?"

"We're not dating."

"Ah huh? That isn't the situation I'm seeing. You're having a dinner with him for months now and you're saying you two isn't dating? What do you call it then?"

I face him now, slightly annoyed.

"So what if we're dating? So what if I'm seeing him? I'm trying to start a life here." I said to him but my voice is low so that it's only us who can hear.

"It's just been months since you said those words to me and now you're dating someone else."

What? I can't believe him. Does he want me to still mourn for my unrequited feelings? Damn him.

"Then what do you want me to do? Magmukmok sa bahay? Umiyak pa din ng umiyak? Hanggang kailan?"

I turned my back on him. Ready to go out. I think I'll just wait for Luthor outside. But Loki grabbed my hand that made me look at his hand. I quickly pulled my hand back.

"I didn't said that. I'm only saying that you are so quick to move that I'm starting to think if you really meant those words?"

What is he saying? I'm getting frustrated with this man. I know he isn't experienced with this kind of things but does he really need to question my feelings?

"I've been with you since we both know when. For years, I didn't give up. I did everything for you. I stayed no matter how hard it is to be with you. I cared for you the way I think I can." I breath heavily.

I'm hurt. I didn't expected this tonight. I only expected for us to see each other again but not this.

"For years, I took care of you. I've put up with your not so good personality. I've waited for you to move on. Now that I got tired and gave up, you're asking me if I meant those words?"

I tore my eyes away from him.

"Well, I wish I didn't. I wish I never meant those words."
