Kai

He was frozen once he saw me, not even taking the time to blink.

"K-Kai?" he stuttered, beginning to choke up. "Is that really you? Are you really here?"

"Yeah, I am," I said somewhat quietly. He sniffled as the first of many tears ran down his cheeks. "I'm sorry I took so long."

I stepped another foot closer to where he was. He continued to stand there for a few more seconds before coming over and hugging me. I didn't move, as I was surprised he was actually happy to see me.

"I was beginning to think you'd never come back," he said, his voice slightly muffled by my shirt. I sighed contently, realizing that what I thought didn't matter, and wrapped my arms around him.

"Now, why on earth would I never come back?" I said.

"Because you forgot about me and moved on," he said, proceeding with his sniffling. I chuckled a little and hugged him tighter.

"I'd never do that," I reassured him. "I've fallen too much in love with you to forget about you." He pulled back and looked at me, his eyes filled with tears just like mine. "Don't cry," I said, wiping his tears off of his cheeks. "Everything is gonna be okay now. I'm free now."

"You're free now?" he repeated back to me, clearly trying to contain his smile.

"We're free now."

He finally let his smile grow. "I love you," he said, his voice becoming more stable.

"I love you, too," I said, a smile painted on my face. "And I'm never leaving you again." He sniffled one last time and wiped his eyes.

"Good," he said. "Cause then I'd be really pissed at you." I laughed and pulled him into another hug.

"KaiSoo is back bitches!" Luhan screamed excitedly, and drunkenly, from the front door. Kyungsoo and I turned to face them and smiled. Luhan and Tao high-fived in excitement.

"You're welcome," Chanyeol said to Kyungsoo, nudging him a little.

"Thank you, Yeollie," he said, resting his head against my chest. "This is better than a car." Laughing, he smiled and nodded slightly.

Kyungsoo shifted towards me again and smiled brightly. I admired his beauty for a few seconds, rubbing my hand against his cheek. His smile widened as he wrapped his hand around my forehand and leaned up to kiss me. I returned his kiss and then we both pulled back.

I didn't care what my parents or anyone else said. He was the only person that I'd ever love.

"You know, some people say that the best part of making up is the sex, but I personally think that it's the cuddling afterwards that just seals the whole deal," I said as we both laid under the covers of his bed. He laughed, causing me to smile.

"You're silly," he said, still letting out a few stray giggles. I chuckled and started intertwining strands of his hair with my fingers. "Mmm, I missed this," he said, his eyes going shut.

"Me, too," I said. He smiled faintly, letting out a gust of air in content. A minute or so passed as I just watched him and listened to his barely audible breaths. "Hey, you wanna go for a walk?" I asked, causing his eyes to open and look up at me.

"At this hour?" he replied. I nodded my head in complete seriousness. "Really?"

"Yeah, sure. We can go to the beach," I said. He was silent for a minute then smiled and nodded.

"Okay," he said.

Kyungsoo

I was slightly confused as to why Kai wanted to go for a walk that late into the night, but I was just glad to be with him, so I didn't protest.

About half an hour later, we were still walking along the water, covering up all of my lonely footsteps in the sand.

"So, where are you staying now since your parents didn't come with you?" I asked after he told me what happened.

"With Xiumin," he said, turning to me temporarily. "Just until I can find my own place. I should have enough saved and I have a job lined up giving art classes to kids while I take some online college courses."

"You're artistic?" I asked, pulling back to look at him a little.

"Well, the cool art teacher at that boarding school and the people who hired me think I am," he replied, making me laugh. I wrapped my free hand around his forearm while my other was still clinging to his hand. Once we reached docks, we stopped and just looked out onto the water.

"I have to remind myself to thank Xiumin," he said without looking at me.

I turned my attention to him. "Huh? What do you mean?"

"For daring me to kiss you at the party." His eyes fell on me, causing me to blush a little.

"Technically, he only dared you to kiss a guy, but you chose me," I said, still grinning.

"That's true," he said, nodding. "But if he hadn't have dared me in the first place we wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be standing with the love of my life." I smiled timidly out of habit and looked down at the sand beneath my feet.

A bended knee coming in contact with the grainy particles caused me to look up. There was a serious expression painted on Kai's face and I became extremely baffled about what was going on.

"Kai..." I said, not able to say anything else.

"I don't know how or why I fell in love with you," he began, causing my heart to pick up speed, "but I just know that I did. And I know I've never been too great at keeping promises and that I hurt you by leaving and making you think I was never coming back, so for that I'm sorry. But I love you so much that words can't even begin to describe it. And I promise you that for now on, I will dedicate my whole life to proving that to you. I want to spend the rest of my years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds by your side. So, will you marry me, Kyungsoo?"

I couldn't speak or utter a word. My heart was screaming at me to just say yes, but my head couldn't even process anything in that moment.

"I don't have a ring and maybe it's not a good idea to do it right now, seeing as how we just graduated high school, but I'm asking you now because I know even if it's five years or ten years from now, you'll still be the only person for me," he said, a hopeful look plastered on his face as a single tear found its way down my cheek.

"Kai, I-I don't know what to say," I managed to mutter.

"Please say yes," he said. I kept my eyes focused on him for a few more passing seconds and then my lips formed a smile. I sniffled as I nodded my head. "Yeah?" he said, trying hard to hold back any tears.

"Yeah," I said. He smiled and stood up, taking me in his arms.

I couldn't believe this was happening, but I was really happy it was.

Kai

"OH MY GOD! TAO, HOLD ME! I THINK I'M DYING," Luhan shouted as he fell back in Tao's lap after we told everyone the news of the pre-engagement. Tao's jaw was dropped open and he was frozen. Kyungsoo and I laughed at them.

"So when's all this happening?" Chanyeol asked.

"Not for a while probably, but it's still romantic," Kyungsoo answered, looking at me and giving me a sweet, brief kiss. I nodded my head in agreement.

"I don't even have a ring, but I felt like I had to let him know that from now on, he's stuck with me," I said after we broke apart.

"I love love," Luhan said as he and Tao started crying.

"And to think, this all happened because of one dare," Xiumin said, a small grin on his face. I chuckled, nodding and looking at Kyungsoo again.

"All because of a dare."
