Lucy had listened to Scott, for a short amount of time. She kept her hair down and the #24 on her cheek, but she changed into sweatpants and her mother's oversized cashmere sweater.
Against her brother's wishes, but with her mother's blessing, Lucy drove to the Stilinski house. She was almost positive that the Sheriff wouldn't be home, so her mother had texted him and Mr. Stilinski told them where their spare key was hiding.
Lucy pulled the key out from under the rug and unlocked the door before she tucked it back in its place. She sighed, running her fingers through her hair, which had now lost all its curls. In her stressed state, Lucy had found herself constantly running her fingers through it.
Inside the house, she could hear Mr. Stilinski walking down the steps. She froze at the door but sighed in relief when he nodded. "He's upstairs, sweetheart." Lucy gasped, letting herself relax. His father pulled her into a momentary hug, whispering that he was okay. "Go on up. I texted Scott and everyone, but I think Stiles could really benefit from seeing you."
Lucy only nodded before she rushed up the staircase, going straight to his door. She was hesitant to knock, but did so anyway, worried sick for the boy.
"Dad, I said I'm okay!" Stiles shouted before he threw the door open, pausing when he saw Lucy. "Luce...?"
Lucy's mouth fell open at the sight of him. He had a prominent bruise on his cheek and a busted lip, but otherwise he looked okay.
"Stiles, what happened? Are you okay? Who did this?" She reached up, gently placing her fingers on his cheek. He leaned into her touch, looking at her softly.
"I'm fine. Gerard got me, but I'm fine." He whispered, reaching for her hand so he could pull her into the room. He shut his door, turned to look at the girl.
"Stiles, you're hurt-" Lucy began but stopped when he sighed. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to annoy you. I was just really worried."
"You're not annoying me." His eyes softened and looked her up and down, his eyes stopping at her cheek. Lucy noticed and instinctively reached to cover it but was stopped when Stiles grabbed her hand. "Don't cover it, it- it looks good on you."
"You think so?" Lucy's eyes sparkled as butterflies rattled against her ribcage. "I know you said over the phone you wished that you had a girl in the stands with your number on her cheek and a kiss after the game. I might not be what you had in mind but..."
"But you still wrote it. And you cheered for me." Stiles smiled. "You cheered a lot."
"Well," Lucy rocked on her heels. "You did good. A lot."
"Yeah." Stiles chuckled. "I guess I did." Silence fell over them for a moment, but it didn't stop them from staring into each other's eyes. "Were you gonna do it? After the game?"
"Do what, Stiles?"
"Kiss me."
Lucy gulped but nodded. "Y- yeah, I was gonna kiss your cheek because I didn't know if you felt the same way and I didn't want to make you, like, uncomfortable or anything because I like you, but I don't want to make things weird or ruin what we have because I really cherish our friendship and-"
Her words were cut off when Stiles' hands found themselves at her waist and he pulled her close. His lips found hers and he kissed her gently, saying all he needed too with a simple action. Lucy's eyes fluttered closed and her hands rested on his chest as she kissed back, her lips moving in rhythm with his.
One of his hands moved up to the back of her neck as he kissed her deeper and Lucy's hands reached his hair, gently playing with the ends of it. A thought crossed her mind, and she pulled away abruptly. "Stiles, your lip-"
Stiles pulled her back in, kissing her again before responding in between kisses. "It's fine." His lips brushed against hers as he talked before, he kissed her again, completely focused on her.
He did it.
He won the game. He scored, like a million times.
And he actually, somehow, someway, got the girl.
Stiles and Lucy had sat on his bed, closely facing each other. Lucy recapped everything that had happened with Jackson. Stiles opened up about everything that happened with Gerard. They stole quick, soft kisses in between, savoring the sweet moment they had with each other. They enjoyed the moment up until Lucy got a text from Lydia, asking for help.
With Lydia in the back, Lucy in the passenger seat, and Stiles in the front, the Jeep smashed through a wooden wall and hit the Kanima, sending him to the floor. "Did I get him?" Stiles shouted, opening his eyes.
Lucy and Lydia's screams of terror answered his question when Jackson jumped on the hood of the Jeep. Lucy and Stiles jumped out through the passenger door, interlocking their hands as they ran behind Scott, thinking Lydia was right behind them. They were mistaken.
"Jackson!" Lydia yelled, trying to get through to the Kanima. "Jackson!" He towered over her, raising his claws to slash her throat. Lucy screamed out for her friend, but her boyfriend held her back, keeping her away from the dangerous creature. Between Lydia's fingers, she held a small key, which gained the attention of the Kanima. He stopped, the scales on his body retreating, and his eyes returned to their normal color. Taking the key from Lydia, he smiled softly at her. But then he backed up, holding his arms out and allowing Derek and Peter, who Lucy stared at in disbelief, to run at him. The Hales impaled him with their claws, letting him fall to the floor.
Lydia rushed forward, catching him and pulling him towards her. "Do you- do you still-" Jackson asked as tears fell from Lydia's eyes.
"-I do." She cut him off. "I do still love you. I love you." The life drained from his face and he collapsed completely in her arms. The room fell silent as everyone stared at the former couple. Lydia eventually stood up, turning around to face everyone as she wiped the tears away.
"Lydia..." Lucy whispered, watching as Jackson's eyes flipped open. He stood up slowly, revealing his newly healed body. Looking up to the sky, he released a roar as his new claws and fangs came out. Lucy smiled softly as Lydia ran back into his arms.
The brunette rested her head on Stiles' shoulder, looking around at the mess. Peter was somehow alive. Chris Argent seemed to be on their side. Jackson was now a werewolf. Gerard was missing. But she was finally dating the boy she'd been crushing on.
Lucy wasn't sure what she was, and she wasn't sure why Derek never responded to her questions. But she decided, in that moment, that she didn't care. No matter what she was and what answers would be revealed in her future, she was Lucy Evans. She would always have herself and her friends with her. She'd have her family by her side always, the dead and the living. No matter what lied ahead of them, she would persevere.
