After escaping from the club with Jackson, Stiles and Scott insisted that they take Lucy home. Given their new plan to basically kidnap Jackson, Lucy didn't argue. The last thing she needed was getting involved with the law. So, while she was peacefully sleeping in her comfy bed, Stiles and Scott stole a prison transport van and drove out into the woods to keep Jackson locked up.

Unlike Lucy, Allison did argue and insisted that the boys let her help keep watch. Despite her strong arguments, Allison wasn't successful in keeping a close eye on Jackson. While she and Scott were getting intimate in the back of Allison's car, Jackson had shifted and escaped.

Thankfully, no one seemed to get hurt this time. But it could've been worse, which was why Stiles had called Lucy as soon as Jackson was found missing. He had broken down, stressed and conflicted about what to do in regard to his father. He wanted to be honest with him, but he was scared that his father would get hurt if he was pulled into their life. In his mind, his father could get hurt the way Lucy had the night of the winter formal. Lucy had reassured him over the phone that the truth itself would not hurt anyone. In the end, Lucy had encouraged him to tell his father the truth.

Stiles and Scott had rushed to the station, ready to show Mr. Stilinski everything when they discovered that Jackson was already there. The boys had blamed the incident on a practical joke gone wrong, which resulted in their punishment being only a restraining order. Allison had somehow received nothing, making her and Lucy in charge of communications between Jackson and the boys.

"Anything they want to say to Jackson has to go through us first." Allison explained to Lucy as she tucked some books under her arm and closed her locker.

"So, we're like messenger pigeons." Lucy joked, following her friend down the hall.

"Seems like it." Allison laughed. "We've got to go meet the boys in the library."

Lucy nodded, eyeing the cameras in the hallways warily. Allison's grandfather had placed new cameras nearly everywhere, but Allison had managed to find a shortcut through hallways with fewer cameras.

Even the library was full of cameras, so the girls headed between the shelves. "It's everything Lydia can translate. And trust me, she was very confused." Allison explained, sliding a few books through an opening in the shelf to the boys on the other side.

"Thanks." Scott picked them up. "What did you tell her?" He asked, flipping through the translations of the Kanima information.

"That we were part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures." Allison cringed.

Lucy laughed. "I still can't believe she bought it."

"Well," Stiles shrugged. "I am part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures."

"Oh..." Allison's eyes widened. "Oh okay."

"Are you really?" Lucy looked at him, her eyebrow raised. Stiles nodded, licking his dry lips as he hoped she wouldn't cringe as well. "That's... pretty cool." The buzz-cut boy smiled, happy that she didn't seem disgusted with his hobbies.

"Okay, does it say how to find out who's controlling him?" Scott asked, reading through Lydia's translations slowly. Lucy and Allison, both faster at reading, had already read through everything. Lucy read it all twice, just to make sure she didn't miss anything.

"No, it doesn't. But Stiles was right about the murders." Lucy responded, smiling softly as she watched Stiles celebrate behind Scott's back.

"It calls the Kanima a weapon of vengeance. There's a story in there about this South American priest who uses the Kanima to execute murders in his village." Allison added, taking the pages back from Scott so she could show them the exact story.

"All right, see?" Stiles started. "So maybe it's not all that bad."

"Until the bond grew strong enough that it killed whoever he wanted it to." Allison finished. Scott's eyes widened and Lucy could only hope that Jackson's story would be different.

"All bad, all very, very bad." Stiles rephrased, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Here's the thing, though." Allison began, handing the pages to the brunette beside her.

Lucy glanced at the page, refreshing her mind and seeing what Allison was worried about. She passed the pages back as she remembered everything. "The Kanima's actually supposed to be a werewolf. But it can't be until it resolves that in its past which manifested it. Which means learning more about Jackson's childhood could be a good starting point."

"So maybe Jackson just needs a few thousand hours of therapy, I could've told you that myself." Stiles laughed.

"He was adopted. Maybe it has something to do with his real parents?" Lucy suggested.

"Yeah, does anybody actually know what happened to them?" Scott asked, leaning on the wooden shelves.

Allison and Lucy shared a look. "Lydia might."

"And what if she doesn't know anything?" Scott asked worriedly.

"Well, he doesn't have a restraining order against us, so we'll talk to him ourselves." Allison sassed, pushing a book onto the shelf above as a group of students walked past.

"Okay, what do I do?" Scott asked, not used to not being able to help.

"You have a make-up exam, remember?" Allison reminded him.

"If he does anything, you run the other way," Scott said, reaching for Allison's hand.

"I can take care of myself," Allison assured him as she held onto his hand tightly.

"Allison, if you get hurt while I'm busy with some stupid test, someone's going to need to take care of me." Scott's eyes flickered over to his sisters. Not siblings by blood, but siblings, nonetheless. "Please don't do anything rash, Luce. If he does something, I need you both to run the other way."

Lucy tilted her head slightly, a smile on her lips. "Scott, I'll be fine."

Stiles pushed Scott to the side, poking his head through the gap in the books. "Be careful, Lucy. I'm serious. You know what they say in the movies, don't be a hero-"

Lucy laughed, flicking Stiles' nose to get him to shut up. "I'll be fine. Seriously guys, I can take care of myself. So can Allison."

Stiles, with his lips parted and a light blush on his face from her actions, could only nod. Allison, knowing that Stiles had a crush on her best friend, only smiled knowingly at his reaction and pushed his face back through. As he fumbled with the books now falling in his arms, both the girls and Scott erupted into laughter.

Wanting to finally do something helpful for the group, Lucy decided to take on the task of talking to Jackson. She let Allison go for the safer option, which was speaking with Lydia.

Knowing he would probably be in the boy's locker rooms, Lucy decided to wait outside and catch him on his way out. She had only been leaning against the wall for a few minutes before she started to hear shouts of pain.

"Jackson?" She called out, pushing the door open as she heard him coughing.

"In here." Following his voice, she walked further in. Just as Lucy rounded the corner, she found herself face to face with a very naked Jackson. She gasped and turned around quickly; her eyes shut tightly as the image she never wanted to see was burnt into the back of her eyelids. She heard him turn the shower off, which had been running in the background. "Is something wrong?"

"You- you could've warned me." Lucy mumbled, desperately trying to shake the image out of her head.

"You're the one that walked into the boy's locker room." He sassed, making a good point as he rounded the corner and stood behind her. Lucy shivered uncomfortably as his breath tickled the back of her neck.

"I thought I heard you screaming in pain. I was only concerned for- you know what? Just forget it." Lucy sighed, keeping her back to Jackson as she spoke.

"Did you wanna talk about something?" He asked, moving closer.

"We can talk later. I should go." Lucy wanted nothing more than to leave and she rushed forward, hoping to reach the door quickly. Her hopes were sadly crushed when Jackson grabbed her wrist.

"No." He spat, forcing her away from the door. He used his arm to block her in, forcing Lucy to cower against the wall as she stared at him in fear. Was this what Jackson had been like to Lydia? "Let's talk now."

Lucy swallowed thickly, her heart racing as she tried to think of a way out. "I have to get to class." She went to move past him when he used his free arm to push her back against the wall.

"Oh, no, no, you don't." He cooed. "No, you have perfect grades. You can afford to skip one class." He smiled, but it wasn't the smile he'd usually give her when he had been with Lydia. No, this was something far more sinister. "Are you okay? Your heart's beating like crazy?"

"I'm fine, Jackson. I'm just hoping to earn a perfect attendance award, so I really need to get to class-"

"I said no!" Jackson shouted, making the smaller girl flinch. "I thought you wanted to talk?" He taunted, keeping her boxed in against the wall as her eyes watered.

"I... I changed my mind." Lucy whimpered, her voice breaking. The sickening feeling of failure crept into her heart, and it broke. She was actively failing Scott, Stiles, and Allison right now.

"You sure? Because you look a little stressed." Jackson spoke, leaning closer. "Is it Stiles? Is that whole thing?" Lucy looked up at him, her watery eyes confused. It only made Jackson laugh. "Oh, come on, Lucy. Your heart races every time you see him. I can hear it, you know. It's actually kind of funny. You think it's just a cute little high school romance story, don't you? It's not going to last. Stiles is going to find someone better, probably someone like Lydia, which I can confirm that she is way better. Better grades, looks, body, you name it." A tear rolled down Lucy's cheek and she shut her eyes once more, the look in Jackson's eyes only frightening her more. "I mean what makes you think that anyone could want someone like you? You're a nobody, a nothing. Lydia is the only reason you have any friends!"

"Stop it!" Lucy screamed, more tears streaming down her face as she sobbed.

"What are you gonna do, Lucy? When your stupid friends turn on you? Your father was a deadbeat drunk and killed both him and your mother. Allison's aunt is dead, but she was alive until Allison met you. Lydia almost died, when you found everything out. It's like you're a parasite. Everyone around you suffers! Who will it be next? Scott? Allison? Stiles?" Lucy whimpered, wishing she could just phase through the wall and run away. But the cold bricks pressed against her reminded her of her cage.

Flicking out his claws, Jackson dragged them down the side of her face. "I just hope that your little death curse doesn't affect me. But I know it won't. Your little curse isn't going to affect anyone ever again."

Before his claws could sink into her neck, the door flew open, and Scott rushed in. Her brother grabbed Jackson's arm and thrust him onto the floor.

"Scott?" Jackson asked, confusion replacing his cold demeanor. His eyes widened when he saw the terrified girl, who was still pressed tightly to the wall. "Lucy? What are you doing in here?" He stood up, rushing to get some shorts on.

"Scott, I- I'm fine." Lucy spoke softly, peeling herself away from the wall. "Please, Scott, let's just go."

Scott's anger took control, and he charged at Jackson, throwing him against the gym lockers in retaliation.

"I have a restraining order!" Jackson shouted angrily.

"Trust me, I restrained myself." Scott growled, placing himself between Jackson and Lucy. Jackson, now very ticked off, jumped onto Scott and wrestled him onto the floor. After breaking a sink and flooding the entire room, Scott and Jackson tumbled through the doors and wrestled on the floor.

"What the hell is going on?" Mr. Harris yelled, pulling the boys off each other. "Enough. What do you idiots think you're doing?"

Lucy timidly walked into the hall, finding Stiles standing not too far away with Erica. Allison and Matt weren't too far behind them, but Lucy's attention was on the boys in Mr. Harris' hold. Stiles rushed over to Lucy, pushing past Erica, and wrapped her in his arms.

"Hey..." He whispered, rubbing her back as she gripped onto him tightly. "It's okay. You're okay."

"I can't be in detention with them. I have a restraining order against these tools." Jackson mused, pointing to Scott and Stiles as Mr. Harris arranged their detention seating chart.

"All of these tools?" Mr. Harris questioned, looking at the group in disbelief.

"No, just us." Scott muttered, looking at his best friend.

"Fine. You two, over there." The boys listened to their teacher, sitting down at their new table quickly. Lucy stayed at her table with Erica, the two girls sitting in awkward silence until Jackson started to have a coughing fit. Lucy had once hoped to befriend the blonde, but after everything that had happened, she only found the blonde intimidating.

"I have to go to the bathroom." Jackson managed to say through his coughs, bolting from the room with Mr. Harris close behind.

"No one leaves their seats." Their teacher warned before he left the room, chasing down the pale boy. Everyone but Scott and Stiles listened. Both boys rushed to Lucy and Erica's table, Stiles sitting next to the brunette while Scott sat next to the blonde.

"Stiles says you know how Jackson's parents died."

"Maybe." Erica hinted slyly, her attention on her nails.

"Talk." Scott ordered, leaning forward on the table.

Erica sighed, leaning back in her chair and folded her arms. "It was a car accident." Lucy's heart pounded as her body froze. Everyone at the table knew how her parents died, and the boys looked at her with sympathy. Scott reached across the table and grasped her hand while Stiles rubbed her shoulder comfortingly. "My dad was the insurance investigator, and every time he sees Jackson drive by in his Porsche, he makes some comment about the huge settlement he'll be getting when he's eighteen." Erica explained, looking at Lucy with what seemed to be sympathy.

"So, not only is Jackson rich now, but he's getting even richer at eighteen?" Stiles enquired, his voice rich with jealousy.

"Yep." Erica nodded, drumming her nails on the desk. "I could try to find the insurance report on my dad's inbox. He keeps everything." Erica offered, flipping open her laptop.

As Erica searched through her laptop, Victoria Argent's voice rang through the intercom. "Scott McCall, please report to the principal's office." Scott's eyebrows raised, but nevertheless he packed up his things and left.

"What date did they die, like how long did they have with Jackson?" Stiles asked, his hand still resting comfortably on Lucy's shoulder. She tensed, remembering the short amount of time she had with her parents. She reached up, lacing her fingers with his as she stared down at the desk. Stiles glanced at her, his heart racing as he held her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Erm, 'Passengers arrived at the hospital DOA. The estimated time of death - 9:26 pm, June 14, 1995.' " Erica stated, scrolling through the pages upon pages of hospital documents.

"Shit." Lucy mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper. "Jackson's birthday is June 15th." Erica tilted her head in confusion and Stiles lowered his eyes sadly.

His parents never got to meet him.

Moving around with a stack of books, Lucy walked up to Allison and Scott. The couple were trying to figure out how the dates were even possible. "It means he was born after his mom died, by c-section. They had to pull him out of her dead body." Stiles explained, watching Lucy as she shoved her books onto the shelf.

"So, was it an accident or not?" Allison asked, leaning on the book rack.

"The word all over the report is 'inconclusive'." Stiles added, helping Lucy grab more books.

"Do you think they were murdered?" Lucy asked, keeping her eyes off the report. She had already seen one just like it and she wasn't interested in seeing another. Seeing the size of the pile in her arms, Stiles reached forward and grabbed some of the books to lighten her load. She quietly thanked him before she continued to shelf the books.

"If they were, then it falls in line with the Kanima myth. You know? It seeks out and kills murderers." Stiles explained, putting his books away.

"But for Jackson? Or the person controlling him?" Allison pointed out.

"We have to talk to him." Scott moved around to face his friends. "We have to tell him."

"He's not gonna-" Allison started as Scott rounded the corner to go find Jackson. Lucy shook her head, knowing her brother was stubborn.

A few silent minutes went by as the group waited for the sound of Jackson and Scott fighting again. A crash sounded above them as sparks rained down on them. Lucy knelt to the ground and covered her head, staying low as Stiles covered her.

Erica screamed from a couple of shelves over and the two started to move towards the sound, thankful that the sparks had stopped falling from that particular light. Making it out of the aisle they had been in, Stiles and Lucy gasped as they took in their surroundings.

Tables were flipped and lights were flickering. Sparks fell from multiple lights, making the room extremely dangerous to be in. Jackson rose from behind Scott and threw him onto the floor, towards Allison. Lucy ran to her brother, fear coursing through her veins as she looked at the half-Jackson, half-Kanima creature that paced through the room.

Focusing on the chalkboard, the hybrid began to draw. Stiles wrapped his arms around Lucy's waist, pulling her back into the bookshelves, further from the creature. Scott did the same with Allison, both boys wanting nothing more than to keep the girls safe.

As soon as the creature was done, it jumped through a glass window and left the room in shambles. The chalkboard read, 'Stay out of my way or I'll kill all of you', which only frightened the group even more.

Letting go of Lucy, Stiles moved towards the chalkboard. He stopped when he looked down to his left and saw Erica thrashing on the floor. The toxin from the venom was causing a dangerous reaction. "Whoa, hey, hey, hey! I think she's having a seizure." Stiles yelled, running towards her. Lucy and Scott jumped up, rushing towards the blonde girl.

"He's alive," Allison called as she checked on Matt who was still paralyzed.

"She needs a hospital," Lucy croaked out, her voice dry.

"Derek... only to Derek." Erica managed to force out, still writhing in Stiles' hold.

"Okay, we'll get you there." Lucy whispered, brushing the blonde hair out of her face.

"I'll get her there faster," Scott pointed out. "Stiles, get Lucy home."

"But Scott-" Lucy began.

"No, Luce, he's right." Stiles began, "You've been through a lot today. I'll get you home safe."

Lucy nodded, knowing the boys were right. "Just take care of Erica, okay?" Scott nodded and Lucy smiled down at Erica. "You'll be okay, just stay with Scott." The blonde, not having much of a choice, nodding in agreement.
