Chapter 11: friends

Monday (7:15 AM)

Beomgyu's POV

It's a beautiful morning. I am currently walking in our campus together with Yeonjun to go to our classroom. I'm glad I can now be with Yeonjun without being awkward nor embarrassed. And I'm also glad that Yeonjun and I are friends now.

Kai: Yeonjunah! Annyeong!

Yeonjun and I looked at our back and we saw Kai waving from a far distance. He then ran towards us.

Kai: Oh! Beomgyu is also here. Annyeong, Beomgyu!

Beomgyu: Hi—

Kai: Why are you two together?

I was paused for a second. I awkwardly looked at Yeonjun and he was also looking at me.

Earlier, I convinced Yeonjun to keep it a secret to Kai and Taehyun that I stayed yesterday at his house.

Beomgyu: Uhmm. I-i accidentally met him a while ago when I was walking.

It seems that Kai was convinced with my lie because he was nodding after it.

We three proceeded to walk towards our classroom.

Kai: Really? I thought you two have plans that I might not know.

Yeonjun: Plans about what?

Kai: You know, joining club or something...

Beomgyu: Are you joining a club?

Kai suddenly stopped from walking.

Kai: Nope. I'm not joining any club.

Then he walked quickly leaving me and Yeonjun here in our spot.

Beomgyu: What did just happen?

Yeonjun: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(9:00 AM)

First class is now finished and now is our break time. A lot of my classmates are preparing and going out of the room.

I fixed my things then grabbed my bag and headed to Yeonjun who's now talking to Kai.

Beomgyu: Hey, guys! Can I come with you two today? You know, Taehyun is absent so I'm all alone right now.

Kai: Sure, Bamgyu!

I smiled to both of them and they smiled back.

Yeonjun's POV

Beomgyu: Can't we just go and stay at the school's fountain?

Kai: No way, It's too hot in there.

I saw Beomgyu pouting his lips. Cutie.

I was startled when Beomgyu started to hold my arms. He is now shaking my arms.

I looked at him and he was still pouting.

Damn.

Beomgyu: Yeonjun! Let's go at the fountain. Pleaseee.

He said acting like a five year old kid.

My heart can't handle this anymore.

Kai: LOL, as if you could convince Yeon—

Yeonjun: Come on, let's go to the fountain.

Kai: Yeonjunnnn! I thought you hate being exposed to the sun?

I insisted myself though I hate the sun. I can't resist that guy's cuteness.

Yeonjun: Who told you that?

Kai: You. You told me that. I—

I kicked Kai's feet so he can shut up then Beomgyu laughed at him.

Beomgyu: Who told you I can't convince Yeonjun!

Beomgyu gave Kai a stuck-out tongue face and started teasing him.

We arrived at the fountain and Beomgyu has his lips so wide.

Ok, so this place is his favorite, hmmmm.

Beomgyu: (sighed) It's really refreshing here.

Kai: No, it isn't.

Beomgyu: You just can't appreciate the beauty of this fountain. Look at it, everything is really pleasing to the eyes.

Kai: Okay. Okay. It's really beautiful.

I heard Kai whispering but I didn't understand anything.

I looked at Beomgyu, he looks relaxed in his position and... stunning. The sunshine touching his face made him more attractive. My eyes are enjoying looking at his face. It's happening again, my heart is starting to beat fast.

5:00 PM

Kai's POV

Class is finally over.

Kai: Yeonjun. I can't go home with you for today. We have a practice later.

Sorry Yeonjun.

Yeonjun: Okay. Good luck with your practice. Bye

Kai: Go home safely with Bamgyu, okay? Bye!

Sorry Yeonjun, I think I don't have to tell you this. I promise I'll tell you about this someday.

I ran out of the room. I was the first student in our room to get out.

I'm heading into a building.

As I enter the building, I saw many students everywhere. It's too crowded. The place is such a mess because of students being uproarious.

"Everyone, you can now audition. Just register in the registration area right there and you're good to go."

The whole building became an absolute disaster. Almost everyone inside here is a mess just to be in a line. Luckily, I made to fall in line quickly.

Kai: Hi! Good Afternoon!

"Good Afternoon. Write down your personal information here  then you have to write your level and section here."

Kai: Got it. Thank you!

The lady smiled back when I gave her a smile. I held my pen and started to write something on the registration paper. I finished writing everything quickly. I was given a number sticker and I placed it on my left chest. I was ordered to wait in the hallway so I followed him. As I walk through the hallway, there are already lots of students who are also about to audition. So I waited here in the hallway with them.

"Number 14!"

My heart stopped for a moment as I heard my number. I am nervous. It's my turn now. Kai, you can do this. You practiced so hard for this so give your best.

The guy who called my number guided me. We entered a room and it was really cold. There is a stage in front facing a table with people who I think is the judges. There are 3 judges in total, two girls and a guy— it's him, the reason why I'm auditioning here. Choi Soobin.

I stood straight in the stage and a student gave me a microphone.

Kai: Hi, Good Afternoon. I'm Huening Kamal Kai of Grade 11-A. I'm about to sing a song which is really my favorite, it's a song from Shawn Mendes "In My Blood".

Some of the people here in the room began clapping while the other especially the judges still look serious. I looked at Soobin, I don't know if he can recognize me but I smiled at him and gladly, he smiled back.

I started to sing the song.

Third Person POV

Everyone in the room was amazed by the vocals of the handsome student that is performing in the stage. They are talking about his visuals and especially, his vocals. But Kai didn't notice that the club is amazed by him, because he was only looking at one certain person.

Kai ended the song and the whole club gave him a round of applause. Everyone started to praise him. All of the judges gave him a standing ovation. Kai looked so happy because everyone enjoyed his singing.

Soobin: I like this one.
