Chapter 5: What is happening?! Casita!!

Brianna's POV

   I woke up I heard a knock on my door. "Come in" I yawned stretching my arms out and standing up. The person went in and closed the door. I was surprised to see Mirabel standing infront of my door. "Oh hey Mira, What do you need?" I asked her with a slight smile. She walked over as I see her shiver, I held my wall making the room a little warmer. She smiled thankfully.

  "Hola, Prima Brianna. I was just wondering if you know anything about-.. Tio Bruno?" She hesitantly asked with a nervous look. I turned to her shock.

"But it's okay if you don't! I'm not forcing Prima"

   "No, It's fine Mirabel" I chuckled and patted the space beside me as I sat down on my bed. "Come" I said as she sat beside me. "Well, What do you wanna know about Tio Bruno, Mira?"  She thinks for a sec before looking back at me.

  "A memory of you with Tio?" She suggested as I hummed thinking, Well Tio is a bit distant to the people in the villagers cause they always ask what their prophecy would be then they get mad when they get bad results.

  "Well, There is that time that I asked Tio Bruno about what my gift will be but he just laughed at me and then walked off.. I kinda forgot what he said" I put a hand on my chin thinking about it, I was 5 years old when I asked that. Mirabel thought of what I said.

   "Well anything else? Is there a time that Tio Bruno said something bad will happen then it did?" Mirabel questioned again as I tried to ruffle my memory.

   "No? Tio Bruno doesn't say anything that is bad or tell a prophecy about me, Just the time that he DID actually look into my prophecy that I was crying looking at my hands. That's all that I can remember, I was just a kid when he left ya know, Maybe ask somebody else, Mira" I put a hand on her shoulders as she nodded thanking me then left, It was almost dinner time as I went to my bathroom, Which was at a normal temperature and I took a bath.

   Mirabel and My talk had moved my head to think about Tio Bruno then at tonights meeting with the deguzmans. Tio was my favorite Uncle, Sorry Tio Agustin. It's just that Tio Bruno was one of the person's to teach me many, Including how to use and control my gift. Even though my gift is waaayyy different then his. This one time I accidentally froze the floor of Casita and it took me two hours to force it to melt. I got out of my bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body and hair as I put on some clothes. A dress that styled like Isabella but the color is light blue that has shades of dark blue, Shaped like snow flakes.

   I grabbed my hair brush and brushed my orange like silky hair. I looked at my mirror and sighed. I touched my wall again turning the temperature more colder as I put on my white cloak and walked outside my room making sure it's locked. 

  "This is it" I whispered to myself as I walked in the dining room the whole family was already seated as I saw Diego sitting on the other side of his mother and a seat opened beside him. Guess that was for me since anywhere else is full. When Dolores noticed me she gave me a 'sorry' look as I mouthed 'its fine' before sitting beside Diego. He tried to hold my hand to kiss it but I put it down on my lap trying not to glare at him since Abuella was next to me.

   "Since everyone is here now, let's eat." I just slowly ate my food wishing that This dumb hunk beside me won't try to even flirt infront of mi familia. If he does I don't know if I can freeze his feet so no one will notice. But, I kept my calm and ate silent as Abuella talked to Diego's mother and sometimes ask for Diego or Mariano to answer. They always have smiles and answer like a gentleman. I know that this Diego gentleman was just an act so I didn't try to bother talking to him. But Mirabel, Tio Agustin and Dolores were acting weird. What happened?

   I asked Mariano to pass the mashed potatoes but Diego was the one who gave it to me with a sweet smile. I didn't want to be rude infront of his mom so I forced a small smile and took the bowl from him. Putting some on my plate and setting it down after. I ate again as I noticed Dolores whisper at Camilo which made him cough and shift to Mirabel then Tio Bruno? Then back to himself but his eyes looked at the different directions. Papi whispered something to him which he made himself back to normal. I looked back in my food and ate but before I could even munch my food, Papi suddenly spat his juice at Mariano. Mariano looked at himself disgusted. I handed him some napkins which he took and wiped his face. I jumped when a cloud formed above our heads.

  "Pepa the cloud" Abuella looked at Mami as she played with her hair muttering 'clear skies, clear skies' over and over. Mami then whispered at Abuella as everyone in our side was looking at Mirabel. Then chaos happened after Luisa brought the piano but it was too heavy for her? Thunder! Screaming! Cracks of Casita and a flower punched Mariano's nose and I didn't notice that Ice was formed under me as I was so tensed at what was happening! Casita! Diego jumped to his feet as Ice formed on his shoes, The deguzmans ran out and so down the other Madrigal's. I didn't hear what Dolores screamed before the chaos happened. I ran after Diego shouting many sorry's at him before the town people met me as I just ran in Casita again. Embarrassed at my gifts outburst I cried. I know! I'm sensitive when it comes to disasters. I bumped into Dolores and Camilo as I fell down. I was still crying as I didn't notice Dolores holding my shoulder as her hand formed Ice around it she yelped out shock as I looked up at her she went down with her Ice hand as I sobbed. "D-dolores-... I'm sorry!" I melted the Ice but Dolores hands were bleeding turned out there was a spike in the Ice circle in her hand which got her a cut.

    She was saying it was fine, and she's alright. But I didn't listen and ran to my room. The whole Madrigal saw what happened..

3rd Person's POV

   When Brianna ran to her room, Dolores was more worried about her sister than that long cut formed on her hand, It was bleeding badly. Dolores was escorted by the family to the kitchen where she ate an arepa that healed her wound. "What happened to Brianna, Dolores?!" Pepa worriedly asked Dolores as she cupped her daughter's face, Dolores was as equal as worried as her mother. "Dolores!"

   "She is in pain, Mama!" Dolores almost yelled pushing her mother's hand off her face Dolores breathing heavily as she put her hands on her face. "Brianna didn't want you to worry so she asked me not to tell anyone" she confessed to her family as they gasped. Abuella was shock and moved towards Dolores. "Abuella.. Brianna doesn't want to be with Diego. She wants to be free and not be expected with anything" Dolores said with pleading eyes as Abuella looked down but didn't say a word about it and left to talk to the Deguzmans.

   Dolores hoped that Abuella would reconsider of what she had planned with Diego and Brianna.

   The next day Mirabel saw Bruno behind a portrait where he live for a long time. He always watched them all eat together in the dining table but he just watches them with a drawing ate and fork on his table in that hiding place. He saw everything that happened last night.

Brianna's POV

  I hadn't left my room since last night. When I woke up this morning, I wished that I was just dreaming but when I looked around my room's ceiling is full of Ice spikes, Since my outburst when I came in. I haven't eaten breakfast and now I bet their having lunch already. Sometimes I hear some town people talking outside seeing the cracks of Casita.

  I heard a knock on my door. It was Dolores again, She had been knocking since last night but I always decline her offers to come out or even let her in. She can't see me like this, All messed up. I. Messed up.

  I hugged my knees as I sat on the foot of my bed. Thinking of what I had done to Dolores. I didn't mean to freeze her hand. Especially with a spike in it! Even I always say it's an accident. I can't stop to think that I had hurt my sister. If I were her I would've screamed at me. But no, She even comforted me even though her hand is bleeding.

  "Brianna, Please open the door. It's not your fault! Even Isabella accidentally hit Mariano's nose remember? It's not a good thing but still, All of our gifts had been messed last night so please come out? If not, Just eat please. I'm worried about you, sis." Dolores said behind the door as I stood up and walked close to the door and put my forehead on it.

  "Lore... I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm sorry" I spoke, My raspy voice didn't help as she would know I had been crying last night. I heard her sigh.

  "It's okay, Bri. It was an accident. So please come out? We can just forget about it. Besides, Tia Julieta healed my cut so I'm fine" Dolores said comfortingly as she knocked again.

  "Okay" I finally gave in, Because my stomach is grumbling like a bull. I opened the door weak. I held the door for support to stand up straight. Dolores was holding a tray of food. She looked at me with a slight smile and put down the tray and hugged me. I hugged her back, I missed her so much.

  "Now let's get you to the kitchen for food" Dolores said as she put my arm around her shoulders, she grabbed the tray with food in it?

  "Then who's food is that?" I pointed at the tray she's holding. She looked at me.

"For you, Too"

"Then I'll eat that"

"It's not enough for you of course"

"Eh your right"

   We laughed and headed to the kitchen as Dolores gave me some water and many other foods to try as I ate like a stray dog. Dolores just chuckled at me and sat beside me, Munching on a arepa.

Hello! Thank you for reading! So yeah this chapter is a bit short, I didn't have enough Ideas, But the next chapter is gonna be published tomorrow or so on. I'm trying to publish a chapter or two everyday to finish this book and focus at my other books. Because I haven't been updating them for two months now or even more.  And I'm planning on making more stories about Encanto, Cause I just have so many character Idea to add.
