Chapter 4: The family meeting and the spike

Brianna's POV

  I helped on setting the table outside for breakfast with everyone. I brought the plates and the glasses on an Tray that I made out of silver. Cool right?

  When I set the all down I looked over at Dolores who is acting strange as her plate is filled with food, That's unlike herself to eat THAT much. I was about to walk over when Mirabel reached her first as Mirabel started talking but the only thing I could catch was 'as you know, that YOUR my favorite cousin' that one hurt, I didn't know her and Dolores is more close than me and Mirabel. Dolores doesn't seem to want to reply to her as she was stacking more arepa's on her plate. I'm still confused as to why she have that much.

  But not a minute after I got my answer. Dolores came out the door behind Papi as he scolded Camilo on turning into Dolores to get seconds on getting foods. Ohh so that's why. I laughed as Casita smacked him two times before he could get away with the food. I ruffled his hair when he put his food down as I went to grab my plate of arepa's. I sat down on the other side of real Dolores as Isabella sat on the other side. Isabella other side is also taken by Camilo then Abuella at the head of the table. The other side of Abuella which is opposite to Camilo sat is Papi then Mami. Well Mirabel took the seat beside Luisa which Mami was about to sit on before she sat on it in a hurry. Luisa's other side is Tia Julieta then at the foot of the table is Tio Agustin.

   I started eating as Abuella started talking I didn't pay attention as she was part scolding Mirabel and part announcing. "and what are you and Mirabel talking about, Lore?" I whispered so no one can hear us.

  "Oh it's just about last night if anyone mentioned about the 'cracks'" she whispered back eating. I thought for a second, Mirabel wouldn't let that one go huh. And she called Dolores-... Well Camilo that Dolores was her favorite cousin. Okay okay I'm jealous alright? I just feel that she doesn't see me as her better cousin, Don't get me wrong I'm happy that Dolores is also a favorite of others. Nevermind just forget about it.

  "Oh, that still bothering her hu-" but before I could finish my sentence Abuella stood up and walked behind Isabella and Dolores which made me shut up.

  "For Isabella's proposal, Dolores do you have a date?" Abuella spoke when I started paying attention. Dolores tilted her head and started listening.

  "Tonight" She almost whispered but I was shock when she added "He wants five babies" that made Prima Isabella open her mouth as pink flowers popped on her head but one particular flower popped up too, which Abuella took off because it made her 'imperfect' I can't even believe how Isabella managed to be THIS perfect.

  "Wonderful" Abuella commented "A wonderful man for a Perfect Isabella" Abuella added as she turned Isabella's face forward and her shoulders up. Abuella then walked back to her seat but when she just turned her back. Camilo shifted into Mariano which made me cover my mouth muffling a laugh when Isabella looked at him annoyed and fired a handful of flowers which made him shift back to his normal self. He coughed out some flowers. Luisa stood up to do her chores in town, Mirabel following after her. But she bumped into Isabella who just stood up to get some drink "what is wrong with you?!" She merely shouted but Mirabel already ran after Luisa. "And another thing!" Abuella announced out of the blue which made us all turn our heads.

  I picked up my orange juice and started drinking still listening to Abuella of course. "We will also have Diego with us for tonight since I saw Brianna and Diego having an interest. They may even be a couple by tonight, which will add more madrigal's someday in this family" I spat out my drink as Mami gasped.

  Dolores turned her head to me and gave me a napkin. "What? But Abuella!" I tried to protest.

  "Brianna wouldn't you like to make our family long lines of madrigal's? Who will help our family grow and our town more stronger? I saw you and Diego last night and I think you two will make a perfect couple." Abuella said with a smile, Her wish for the town is to grow and make our family many for the upcoming years that was her only wish... I couldn't say no..

  "Okay Abuella.." I forced a smile as she proudly thanked me, I excused myself to do something as Abuella nodded. I went inside Casita and to my room. I couldn't believe Abuella she wants me to be in a relationship at 17?! And she already planned my wedding to someone I don't even like! Before I know it I closed my door and screamed in anger. A sharp Ice grew almost hitting my roof as I calmed myself and looked at the Ice spike in fear. No no no.. if anyone sees this it won't be happy. My anxiety went up when there's A knock on my door but before I could go and lock it.

  It opened and revealed Dolores, I couldn't cover up the ice spike anymore so she saw it. She looked at me then at the ice spike in horror she went in even the room is like 12° and closed the door. She went close to my reaching out a hand. I backed away "no stay away! Please Dolores! I don't want you to be in danger!" I felt the Ice spike behind me as Dolores went close to me.

  "It's okay, Brianna. You won't hurt me. I know you can control it" she held my hand, I felt her warm. It's like she doesn't feel the cold. She pulled me in a tight hug as I cried on her shoulders we sat down. Little by little the Ice spike went down and the rooms cold temperature went a bit warm. I feel safe in Dolores' embrace. We broke the hug and Dolores wiped my tears.

  "See? Your fine, I'm fine" Dolores smiled at me as I smiled at her. "I may not know how you feel but I'm here for you, bri. That won't ever change even something wrong happens" she said comforting words which made me feel better.

  "Thanks, Dolores. I'm fine now. And I think I need to sleep. Can you tell Mami that I'm good? And please don't tell her about the spike, I don't want her to worry" I pleaded Dolores as she chuckled and nodded.

  "Sure, as long as you don't tell anyone that I lied about the five babies" Dolores joked as We both laughed. Of course I knew that, She said that Mariano wants five babies to make Isabella scared on getting married with Mariano.

  Dolores hugged me one time before she stood up and walked out of my room. I stood up weakly and fell on my bed, Thinking so deep that I didn't notice that I fell asleep.
