Chapter 10

08:36, 26 May 2018

Garp watched over the gathered marines. Gritting his teeth as his grandson was chained above him and looked over the field. "Where are you?" The stress on his face was prominent and his old friend, Tsuru, knew not to disturb him.

"Garp," Sengoku called out to the vice-admiral. Looking down to his position as saw the tension in the broad man. "What will you do?"

Flashback:

"How could you allow her to go to Impel Down?!" Garp slammed his hand on Sengoku's desk. A bulging vein pulsing between his brows.

"I had no choice!" Sengoku stood and shouted back just as loudly. "She would've brought significant damage to our forces before the main fight even began. Effectively tipping the power balance in the world and we weren't prepared to face a demon at the time."

"You never should've used her." Garp huffed out and pulled away from his friend. Crossing his arms with narrowed eyes. "Don't think I forgive you for threatening my family."

Sengoku stood to his full height, matching Garp's stance. "I had to. She was the only person capable and had I not, the Gorosei would've eventually found her when you brought her to your village. You managed to hide her for 30 years before making her raise Ace and hide her again. You should be thankful that I haven't spoken out about it." Sengoku sat back down on his chair and took a calming sip of tea. "I don't need your forgiveness for threatening your village to gain her cooperation, Garp. The things we do to keep the peace isn't a painted focus but a harsh background. When she appears at the coming fight I will have her death ordered."

"Ace was barely a year old when you took her away for that year." Garp looked away and gritted his teeth. "However, do what you must." Garp turned on his heel and left the office angrily.

Flashback end

Garp glanced over to the akuma that stood behind Akainu. "That kid is going to lose control any second." He muttered.

"The rage must be thick." Tsuru stepped beside Garp. Looking over to the heaving gorilla-like male. "And with the arrival of Whitebeard, I'll just get worse." Tsuru moved her gaze to the execution platform to Ace. Seeing the lad looking resigned to his pending execution. "It's awfully quiet though." She commented and returned to look over the prepared battlefield. "I've heard of the kyuubi, Garp. Every man here is prepared to lay their lives on the line to take down that demon."

Garp saw many marines prepared with large chains and looked back out to the horizon. "I see." His eyes narrowed as he wondered why it was so silent. The marines were getting restless before they spotted the ships of new world pirates preparing to enter the harbour. Garp held still as he noticed the lack of Whitebeard and his commanders. "He's up to something."

"They have no interest whatsoever," Tsuru muttered as she looked at the position of the five gathered shichibukai. "Oh, what a surprise." Tsuru shook her head as the Moby Dick emerged right in the middle of the harbour. "We never considered an attack from beneath."

"Well, he sure picked an amazing place to show up," Garp replied as he saw the commanders standing tall on the ship but there was no sight of the yonko. Ignoring the many other ships that surfaced afterward as he looked out for one man in particular. "Here he comes." He commented as his ears picked up the heavy footsteps of the great man.

The marines froze as Whitebeard appeared and stood at the front of his ship. A woman sat high on his shoulder with her murderous gaze looking over the battlefield.

"Oh, how many decades has it been since we last saw each other, Sengoku?" Whitebeard commented as he slammed his bisento down. He glanced up at Nana on his shoulder and saw the bloodlust swarm in her eyes and asked her, "Will you be fine little one."

Nana clucked her tongue as she looked over the gathered forces. Her eyes zoning in on the shaking akuma. "This is nothing." Crossing her legs over and exposed one of her tanned legs.

"Ace!" Whitebeard shouted out, silencing the chatter among the marines. "I hope you're still well!" Whitebeard laughed as both sides started their attack. "Are you not going to join?" Whitebeard asked the redheaded woman.

Nana folded her arms tightly. Keeping her eye on the akuma. "No. Once I make a move they'll release the akuma. I'm sorry but I won't be much help. I'll be focused on him."

Whitebeard nodded and followed her gaze to the heaving demon behind Akainu. Readjusting his plan in his mind. "How disgusting." He commented and threw his hands out. "I better make a playing field for my children to fight on."

Nana gasped as Whitebeard slammed his fists to the side. "Ya gotta be jokin'!" Nana shrieked as his attack caused a giant tsunami.

"Your accent is coming through, gurarara." Whitebeard chuckled and ignored when she pulled on his ear. He watched as Aokiji froze the bay and the giant waves. Effectively blocking the marines in.

Nana released Whitebeard when she heard Cal howl out to her. Snapping her focus back to the violently shaking man. "He's going to transform soon." Nana jumped down from Whitebeard's shoulder and stood in front of him.

"Don't leave the ship just yet," Edward called out to the woman. It wasn't time to send her out yet.

"Hai hai," Nana replied and pulled the monk staff off her thigh band and extended it to its full length. "It's been a while since I've last done an incantation." Nana twirled her staff before slamming it into the boat. Eyes flashing wildly as she zoned in on the demon.

Sengoku saw the look in Nana's eye and pulled for the speaker. "The death of this man is of great significance." He spoke as his voice echoed over all the speakers in Marineford and temporarily stopped Nana in her tracks as she looked at him curiously. He ignored Tsuru telling Garp that he wasn't at fault and for the man to laugh at her sympathy. "Years ago, we placed all our resources into searching for a man. We suspected he might have a child on a certain island. We relied entirely on the little information given by the cipher pol. Children about to be born were thoroughly searched as were their mothers."

"Oi oi he wouldn't." Nana's eyes widened at Sengoku's speech.

"But I supposed that was to be expected. Your mother risked her life to bring you into this world. She pulled off the impossible with sheer willpower. She managed to deceive the eyes of the entire world. In south blue, there's an island called Baterilla. Your mother's name is Portgas D Rouge." Sengoku spoke clearly.

Nana clenched her fists and bit down on her tongue. "I know he was never my own but it still hurts to hear it."

"She managed to protect her child and carried that child in her womb for 20 months. She used all her strength to give birth to you and died. A child was born carrying the blood of the evilest man in the world. Your father is..." Sengoku paused to gather oxygen into his lungs, "The Pirate King! Gold Roger!"

Nana took the opportunity of the stunned crowd and slapped her hands together. "By the power bestowed on me..." She whispered, creating a small wind around her. "And life touched by the sun..." Heat waves appeared around her as her hands started to glow brightly. "I strike thee down with the power of the god!" She shouted and pushed her palms outwards, towards Sengoku. "RAVI!" Nana roared as a large and blinding white pillar of fire shot out of her palms and towards the Fleet Admiral. The fire tore apart the ice and those in its path as it jetted towards its target.

"Don't get cocky!" Sengoku shouted to the priestess and waved his arm before him. Summoning the giant squad to defend against the pillar of fire.

Ace's eyes widened at the sight of the power before him. "I never knew she was this strong."

Garp's eyes widened at the old technique. "She's aiming to kill."

"Is that the power of the Sun Priestess?" Mihawk's eyes followed the attack and concluded it was intended for one purpose only. To end a life. He looked back at the angry woman and wondered how she hid her power from him. Seeing now that she never needed his protection but perhaps an executioner. "Perhaps Sengoku wasn't wrong in naming her the trickster." Impressed that she was able to downplay her strength before his eyes. The hidden photos should've given him a hint at her skills.

One of the giant's with a sword stepped forward. Prepared to defend against the attack. "Take this!" He roared and swung his sword as the fire got closer. Preparing the slice the attack in half.

Nana watched silently as the giant failed to stop the fire. Consuming the giant marine in her flames and glared at Sengoku. "A sacrifice." Nana spat out with clenched fists. Her white flame could never be put out unless she wanted it to stop.

"Indeed," Whitebeard spoke as he took in Nana's work. "Though it has taken down one of the giants."

Sengoku picked back up his receiver and spoke once more into the snail. "Ace was raised away in east blue under a dangerous woman. The adoptive mother of fire-fist Ace, Head Priestess of the demon worshipers and demon-user: The nine-tail demon fox, Roseate!" He matched the woman's glare at his declaration.

Nana felt her body shake in rage as her teeth sharpened. "I'm going to kill him." She hissed out and puffed when Whitebeard's big hand landed on top of her head. Nana felt her body relax as the rage seeped out of her body. She looked up at the man's keen eye and nodded at him in thanks.

"It's not your turn yet," Whitebeard spoke. He swung his bisento at an oncoming cannonball, deflecting it away from them. "Wait for him to attack first." He said and gestured to the salivating demon.

Nana looked over to the akuma. He was being forcibly held down by his master yet his bloody eyes never left her body. "How disgusting." Nana grabbed her staff and watched the battle in front of Whitebeard.

Mihawk stepped forward. Ignoring Doflamingo's words and narrowed his eyes at the man behind Nana. "An opportunity like this will never present itself again. I wish to see the difference in our powers." He said and withdrew his black blade. He planned on not hitting Nana but the troublesome woman was in the way and threw his attack. He was already expecting her anger. Mihawk kept an eye on his attack as neither of them moved out of the way. Whitebeard had looked in his direction but Nana was busy looking elsewhere. Mihawk stood up straight as his attack was blocked by Jozu.

"She's a powerful lady." Doflamingo grinned and moved to stand beside Mihawk. "I wonder what's got her so occupied." He hummed and followed her gaze to the crazed beast. "Oi oi looks like he'll kill anyone in his path."

Mihawk and the other shichibukai followed Doflamingo's gaze.

Moriah narrowed his eyes at the sight. "What are they waiting for? Just let the two demons kill each other."

Nana's ears twitched but her gaze never left Cal. "Oh, do you hear screaming?"

Whitebeard hummed and heard loud screams coming from above. His eyes widened as he saw a falling warship. "What a sight."

"I knew you'd overdo it!" A nasally voice screamed

"This is all because of your damn wink!" A gruff voice followed angrily

"Vyou're blaming this on vme, Croco?!" A flamboyant voice yelled back just as angrily.

"Who cares?! We're gonna die?!" An annoyed childish voice growled out. "The sea beneath us is frozen solid!" His loud scream echoed through the battlefield. "Oh! I'm made of rubber, so I'll be fine!"

"Rubber?" Nana frowned and tore her gaze away from Cal. "Pffft! Luffy?!!" Her eyes bugged out at the falling ship and the grown sight of her youngest kit.

"Then you'll be the only survivor!" One of the falling men cried out! "We have to do something!"

"Vi don't want to die like this!" The flamboyant voice called out again. "Somebody, stop vus!"

"I never should've listened to you, StrawHat!" The nasally voice yelled accusingly. "Damnit!"

Everyone looked up in disbelief at the sight. Others looked on in amusement.

"A-C-E!" Luffy bellowed out.

Garp and Nana shared identical looks at the appearance of the young pirate.

Mihawk regarded the falling boy with curiosity. "That's the boy everyone's talking about. StrawHat." He looked over to Nana and saw her hanging jaw. "Consider this a peace offering for now." Mihawk withdrew his blade and slashed at the ice. Creating a hole for the ship to fall into. He felt the heavy weight on Nana's gaze and turned to face her. Locking his calm eyes onto her red shocked ones. He could see that she didn't know how to respond to his actions.

Whitebeard looked down and Nana and towards the world's strongest swordsman. "Gurarara is that the one?"
