Chapter 3

Kat's P.O.V.

MY MORNING WAS QUITE PEACUFUL without any major event. After a left Derek's place the first thing I did was taking a stroll around the city, since it was only 5.30 a.m. I got myself a coffee and continued my own search party so that I could get through the day without having any cravings. Long-story-short, I needed to feed. While walking a thought crossed my mind, since I arrived in Beacon Hills I haven't even bothered to say hello to Alan. I've known him for many years and I was aware that he still resides here. Or maybe I just assumed that because I had a run in at the school with his sister, Marin, who I haven't talked to yet, but not like we ever once liked each other anyway. But I still wanted to talked to the brother just to catch up, but I wasn't in a rush either.

After about an hour of moving through the streets I noticed a man coming towards me, and no one was around. It's showtime! I fastened my pace and quickly got a hold of his arm, dragging him inside the alley on my right despite his loud protests. I pushed him against the wall with my left hand around his throat, a wicked grin on my lips.

"Just stay keep it quite and don't move." I sad while looking him in the eye and then waited a couple of seconds. When he didn't move I took note of the fact that the compulsion worked, and didn't waste any more of my time. I let my fangs out in the light and with one swift motion I sunk them into his neck, piercing the tender skin. With the blood tricking down my throat I was completely lost in pleasure, never realizing how long I was feeding on his liquid. The only thing that suddenly stopped me was that I heard his heart slowing which forced me to move away.

I licked my lips clean, then I took out a tissue from my pocket and also cleaned the remains of the blood from the man's neck. When it was all good I burned the tissue away with my magic and placed my right hand on the two tiny holes. Closing my eyes for a minute I performed a non-verbal spell, which instantly healed the wound and also made his dizziness disappear. Opening my eyes they flashed red for a brief second before returning to their original blue color. I put on my million dollar, kind and innocent smile and stared deeply into his eyes.

"You never saw me, nor remember anything that happened in the last few minutes. You came in here from the sidewalk because you started to feel dizzy while walking, and when you got better you continued your way straight to work, so you got there in time. Now. Leave." I demanded the last part and immediately sped away.

-----------------------------------

Doing the school work wasn't that interesting to be honest. I held one Latin lesson in the morning than I got the Coach to help with P.E since they're planning on climbing the wall.Entering the gym I placed the harnesses in place, checking twice if there was any problem, 'cause I wouldn't take the blame for kids falling down the wall. Just after finishing with my task Coach got here with the students and after warming up they got to the point.

Now, Scott and Alison were the people climbing up. I just stood on the side, only observing since I wasn't the one in control of the ropes. I zone out for a minute and suddenly the young Argent's voice caught my attention, even though, she was talking to Scott.

"Try admiring from afar." I looked up at her, then back at the boy, and at the girl again trying to not laugh, but I let out a light snort anyway.

"What's up?" Coach asked me and turned my head in his direction.

"Oh, nothing. Just observing the girl power over there." nodded to Alison's direction with my head. Coach only shook his head and went back to his own business. Suddenly, I heard the gasp, and looking down I found a McCall just inches above the mat. That's what you get for staring. I laughed with the others on that as Coach approached the boy and sat down next to him.

"McCall, I don't know why, but your pain gives me a special kind of joy. Right." he laughed directly at him.

"Wonder way." I laughed as my arm were crossed in front of my chest.

"Alright. Next two." Coach got up from the ground "Stilinski, Erica, let's go. The wall." Looking at the two I became slightly nervous. Having read Erica's file I was aware of her condition and I wasn't necessary keen on the fact that she still had to do the task.

After the two got into their harnesses they started to climb. Stiles surprisingly didn't have any trouble with that, Erica on the other hand was visibly struggling. I focused on my senses just to be met by her fear, and anxiety radiating from her. Stiles finished in a minute, but Erica was still near the middle, her heavy breathing and voice packed full of panic could be heard without supernatural hearing as she started to hyperventilate.

"Help, please..." sounded her pleading and almost everyone gathered around the wall below her.

"Erica. Dizzy? Is it vertigo?" Finstock asked and I just sighed.

"Vertigo's a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear." corrected Lydia and I genuinely became impressed by that "She's just freaking out."

"Erica."

"I'm fine." she said but her voice was shaking.

"Coach." I said gaining his attention "You know, she's epileptic, it's not even safe to be up there, not to mention climbing up further."

"W-Why doesn't anybody tell me this stuff? Epileptic?"

"It's in her file." I stated, looking up at her worried.

"Erica. You're fine. Just... Just kick off from-from the wall. Th-There's, there's a mat to catch you. Come on." We all watched as after a couple of seconds she started to move and kicked off, slowly reaching the ground below her. "See, you're fine. On the ground. You're all right, shake it off. You're fine." she quickly got out of the harness and started to back out of the gym. The students immediately started murmuring and snickering at the girl. I tilted my head to the side, cause it the crack, and took a deep breath.

"Hey, idiots!" I caught their attention right away "Keep up that pathetic attitude and I'm gonna kick all of your asses. Did I make myself clear?" and with that, I walked out behind Erica.

Since we finished I was outside in the corridor while the students were changing. I was currently leaning against the wall, blocking out all the outside and inside noises just the catch a break. That process went pretty good. At least until I got a sickening feeling in my stomach, which usually was my body warning me of a possibly bad or drastic event. And I started to listen again. My eyes widened when I heard Erica from the gym, and without thinking I vamp speeded inside below her, just in time to catch her. And got lucky because the doors burst open when she fell in my arms. I placed her on the ground, laying her on her side while holding her hands tightly.

"How did you know?" a voice asked behind me and I turned my head in the direction, recognizing that the voice was Scott.

"I had a feeling." I told truthfully.

-----------------------------------

After the ambulance got here for Erica and got her into the hospital, I sent Derek a text.

Me:A girl just got sent to the hospitalShe's epilepticYour bite could maybe cure her and you'dalso have a new Beta

Derek:I'll look into it

With that I put my phone away and gathered my stuff to go outside. I sat on the stairs in front of the school's front door since like that I was not bothered by the teens at all during lunch, and I wasn't in the mood to go back to the hideout just yet, even do I was done with my classes. Sometimes a took a sip from my flask, which went by unnoticed, and started correcting the Latin tests a had with me. I was concentrating so hard on my job, that I didn't notice Erica walking inside, only that she come back outside.

"Hey, Kat." she said with a cheeky grin on her face when I looked at her, rapidly blinking in surprise.

"Hey, Erica..." I turned my head towards the Camaro in front of us, seeing Derek giving me his usual grin while sending a wink at me. "Where the fuck did I write to do a full bitch make-over on her?" I threw up my hands in disbelief.

"Don't be jealous." he grinned, putting on his sunglasses. In your dreams, little wolf. I narrowed my eyes at him when the doors burst open behind me. I turned towards the sound to find a Stiles and a Scott looking shocked at the side ahead of them. Noticing the two boys Derek turned to them as Erica got in the car, flashing another shit eating grin to Scott before speeding away.

"What are you doing here?" Stiles asked me after a minute of just standing there.

"What does it look like? A coloring book?" I held up a test in my right hand, waving it slightly in front of him as I looked at the boy behind my shoulder.

"I meant the flask and fact that you're on the stairs, but yeah, my immediate thoughts were that you're drawing the cars and coloring all of them red." he rolled his eyes, taking note of the red pencil in my lap "But seriously?"

"Looking over spells that could summon the Devil, and that "I grabbed the metal flask" is the blood of a virgin that I could pour over the paper to be extra dramatic." he looked at me confused, blinking fast at the information and I just smirked at him. He looked away, fidgeting with his fingers. "Actually, it is what it looks like." I gestured towards the papers "Don't snitch on me, will you?" I referred mostly to me drinking.

"Yeah, definitely not gonna do that." he said it in a heartbeat as he cleared his throat "I, uh, won't bother you anymore." he waved me goodbye and went back to the school alone, since Scott already left him. I like that boy. I thought as I was gathering my things and called it a day. Approaching my car I got in and drove away.

-----------------------------------

A parked a block away from the animal clinic and knowing the route well a moved towards my destination. I didn't use the front door as any normal person would have, I simply teleported straight on the chair, sitting crossed legged with them below me.

"Hiya, Alan." the said man slightly jumped at my sudden greeting and abruptly turned towards me "Long time no see. How's it going?" I asked casually.

"Kat." he stated as if he was trying to process my presence "Haven't seen you in person since the fire."

"It's been only six years." I waved my hand as I dragged out one feet from below me and placed it foot on the chair beside me "I've been kinda busy lately."

"Heard so. Word got around." he said as he leaned on his arms on top of the metal desk

"Word, or Marin?" I asked slightly annoyed.

"Both." he stated "But the only things I heard were about that you were in a lot of places in the past one and a half year."

"If only you knew..." I said as I pulled out my flask from my leather jacked and took a sip from it while turning around in the chair so I was sitting sideways.

"Talk me through it." he pushed himself up and took the chair next to me. I leaned my head back so I could look at him.

"Long-story-short, I pissed of a warlock, got hexed by him and the witch in me got a power limit. Currently I'm healing myself and just sort of waiting for it to fully fade away. Well, fade fully away if I'm lucky, which we all know is a rather rare case..."

"You haven't tried to reverse it yet?"

"I have, only progress I made is that it's started to fade." I answered with a small nod.

"Okay, that is actually good. Then at least for once, this time, try to actually rest."

"'Kay, dad." I rolled my eyes with a smile. "I'm trying but I can't even sit in one place for too long." I sighed gesturing around me "Enough about me, what about you?"

"About me... I think you've already heard of the kids since you've been back?" I nodded "I started to try and advise them. They're good kids with good hearts, they're going to accomplish great things in the near future, I'm sure of that." he told with a smile on his face.

"Always the druid, always the emissary." I smiled while sitting up.

"It is in my nature after all. How long will you be staying?" I stood up, stretching my arm while carefully cracking my back.

"Haven't been here long, but I'm enjoying myself for now. I'm also thinking about getting a house for myself. I mean, I love Derek and all, but sharing a place with him, is uh..." I frowned "A living nightmare sometimes, and I can't even do the things I'd like when I'm with him all the damn time. So, a little heads up, you're not getting rid of me in the near future." I grinned at him.

"As you know, you're always welcomed to visit me, just please. Next time use a door."

"Ay, ay, Captain." I saluted with a grin "Later." and just as I came, a disappeared in the same fashion.

I was out all night, even late at night roaming around the woods. I wanted to make sure if there's anything bad in town other than the Argent's. But I only came across with normal forest animals. While I swiped my hand across a tree I suddenly came to a halt as in ear-piercing sound echoed through the forest, leaving me falling to my knees in pain at the sudden scream. I was covering my ears in pain, trying to get through it, waiting for it to stop, since when it started my focus on my hearing was turned on a max, the screeching sound hitting harder than it should.

After a minute I finally breathed out in relief. I knew that I recognized that sound from somewhere, but I couldn't wrap my finger around it no matter who hard I tried. But it was on the tip of my tongue.

-----------------------------------

The following day I wasn't holding any classes, so I stayed in the lair after Derek filled me in the topic of who's his next Beta recruit. Apparently, the guy was named Boyd. And that left me in the dark just like before hearing the name. Other than that, and the fact that they were planning to confront Scott today, I did not get any information from him, nor the actual plan. I also didn't need to. Whenever he'd decide to call me for help, we both knew I'd show up seconds later.

Despite not having work, I still walked into the school to get some books that I left here yesterday. As soon as I went through the door a conversation from the distance found it's way to my ear and I found myself unintentionally listening to it.

"If he's not at home, you call me, got it?" sounded Scott voice. "What?"

"Maybe we should let him." answered Stiles while I kept in walking. "Boyd, you know, man? You said Derek's giving them a choice, right?"

At least there's someone with a peace of mind.

"We can't." I rolled my eyes at these words.

"You gotta admit, Erica looks pretty good. But obviously not better than our new teach. You know, the word "sensational" comes to mind."

"How good do you think she's gonna look with a wolfsbane bullet in her head? And stop fantasizing about a teacher."

"Hello boys." I greeted them with a big smile plastered across my face as I walk past them.

"Hey." they said in unison, I could hear a slapping sound behind my back.

"Dude! Stop!" Scott whisper yelled at his friend.

"What? You can't blame me for using my eyes!" he said in the same mannerism "Back to the topic, what I was saying is maybe this one isn't totally your responsibility."

"They all are. And you know this thing's gonna get out of control. That makes me responsible."

"All right, I'm with you. And I also gotta say this newfound heroism is making me very attracted to you. "

"Shut up."

"No, seriously. Do you wanna just try make out for a sec? Just to see how it feels."

"Make out with Kat, not me." I chuckled slightly, shaking my head while a gathered the two books I was looking for then went back to the parking lot. Got into my car, then first things first, I started to look for new home, mostly because Derek started to gather too many Betas into that hideout.

-----------------------------------

When I finished it was completely dark, although I wanted to finish earlier to go and keep an eye on the dear children as usual. Since I got a text from Derek that stated they were going to get at Scott at the ice rink and my help is not needed, I thought about finding Stiles. But Derek beat me to it and wrote: "Erica took care of him earlier." Which just sounded as bad as it is.

While driving I relied on my senses and a small amount if magic, to get me to my destination. I was driving completely on automat, letting my magic to lead me to him. Thank the gods my windows were blacked out. My glowing red eyes would have been a pretty traumatizing sight for anyone who drove in the opposite direction as me. Soon enough my car stopped as the glowing also slowly started to fade away. I got out and slowly looked around and five seconds later my legs started moving in a random direction. After about a five minute walk a stood in front of metal garbage can. I pushed the top open and I let out a frustrated sigh.

"Seriously?!" I murmured under my nose. With another sigh I firmly grabbed Stiles under his arms and pulled him out. I gently placed him on the ground, letting his back to lean against the container. "Stiles? Hey, Stiles?" I asked softly as I tried to shake him up awake, but he didn't even budge. Rather then forcing him awake I placed my hand on the side of his head, where I noticed a bump. Erica, Erica, what the fuck, girl...

I took a deep breath as I closed my eyes, then I started a small healing spell combined with something for the pain. I was chanting in my head, not letting even a slight noise out. A minute later a took my hand away looking at his head, which was now free of any type of bruise.

It haven't took long after that, his eyes slowly started opening.

"Ah, bitch..." I heard him murmuring while his adjusted to the faint brightness of the streetlight.

"Stiles? You okay?" I asked softly, while searching for his eyes. Hearing my voices his irises became wide open in a flash, looking at me shocked.

"Kat? What are you doing here?"

"Always that question..." I shook my head with a faint smile "You okay?" I repeated "And to answer your question I was in the right place at the right time. I pulled you out from there." I nodded behind him "What happened?" I asked him, even though I was too well aware.

"I... It's just... She..." he tried to gather his thought with more or less success "Thank you."

"No worries. Do you need a ride?" I stood up slowly while speaking.

"No, no, no, you don't have to." he waved his hand around along with his head "I can get home on my own."

"You sure? My car is around the corner. And to remind you, I just pulled you out of a dumpster, I don't think it's safe to wander around alone."

"Yeah, right..." I held my hand out in his direction to help him up and after a few seconds he hesitantly took it. "Fine. Can you get me to my car?"

"Sure,. Come on." I gestured towards the side with my head, then we started to walk straight back to my car. When we reached it I unlocked it and while fidgeting with my key I just realized I was still holding the poor boys hands. I let go of his hand and looked at him.

"Um... Sorry about that." I motioned towards his hand, stepping back as I noticed a faint shade of pink coating his cheeks.

"Yeah, no, it's totally fine. No problem."

"Get in." I said while I got in the drives seat and waited for him. When he was in and told me the address I started the car and headed in that direction. The ride was surprisingly silent as you could say, I almost got used to always hearing him talk at school, like he didn't know how to shut up. But now, he was completely quite until we stopped in front of the house. Which I only assumed was Boyd's place.

"Thank you, uh, for the ride. Even though you didn't have to."

"Yeah, no problem at all. Just get home safely, and don't go near any more dumpsters."

"I could do that." he smiled at me whilst opening the door. "Have a nice evening." he said as he got out.

"You too." After he shut my door I started the car again and continued my way around the city.
