Emily pov

I unlocked the door before stepping inside, finding the house empty of life. My mother had gone to visit my dad in Texas, so of course the house was empty. She had made sure to map everything out for me, in case I couldn't survive on my own.

But I had Hanna with me, so I'd be fine. More than fine, if she continued to look at me like that.

"So, empty house, just the two of us, no parents or members of authority or alien sightings or world endings or anything to disrupt us...." She began, the smile grower bigger on her face with every crazy thing that she listed off. I laughed, lifting her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist, something we had perfected. Her hands were tangled in my hair as I kicked the front door closed. I carried her into the living room, and we collapsed on to the sofa. Hanna was straddling me, smiling down at me. Something in the way she smiled made my heart race, and I had no idea what to do. In fact, I would have been happy just being near her.

"Are you sure about this?" She asked, unsure of whether to continue or break apart.

I thought for a moment. I had loved her since we were little, and she had clung to me on the first day of school. I had loved her since that time she gave me the last gummy bear in the pack, because she knew they were my favourite. I had loved her since she shared her clothes with me when I went through a girly phase. I had loved her since she had said 'yes' to being my girlfriend. And so this was the perfect opportunity to show her I loved her.

And so I nodded my head, sure of everything in the world right now. She gave me a breath taking smile, before swiftly removing her t-shirt. As I looked at her, truly, I was amazed.

Because she was mine.

I threw a t-shirt at her, and she held it up against her bare chest. It was a little long, and unflattering as it hid her perfect curves. But she laughed before pulling it on. She then came to lay beside me on the bed, and I turned on the small tv. We watched cartoons for a while, just enjoying being together. She held my hand, tracing circles on my thumb. Her hair smelled like strawberries as I rested my chin on her head. Her eyes were gleaming as she ignored the tv and watched me when she thought I wasn't looking. She leaned up and kissed the side of my mouth, and I moved my head to the side to allow her to kiss me properly.

Until I got a text.

I groaned, reaching over Hanna to fumble around for my phone. She got there first, and handed it to me. I kissed her, before checking the message.

Glad you had fun. Knock knock.- A

I froze. Was A really outside? Then I heard a knock on the front door which confirmed it. Hanna looked at me expectantly, and I scooted out of the bed.

Going downstairs, I took the baseball bat from the umbrella rack, and slowly opened the door. When I saw who it was, my jaw dropped. I was glad Hanna had stayed upstairs. She didn't need to see this.

And she didn't need to see the way my palm collided with their cheek in a huge slap.
