All Nate could think about as he drove home was how fucked up he truly was. The Jacobs boy desperately wanted to be better but he just kept fucking up.

Every relationship he had he ruined in some way.

Nate knew that he needed to change. He wasn't going to let himself fuck up his relationship with Aurora.

For years he's been haunted by his father and his stupid tapes. The boy knew they were one of the main reasons for his erratic behavior.

He wouldn't have had to do some many horrible things if those tapes didn't exist.

If Cal didn't exist.

Nate had decided long ago that his life would be a million times better if Cal wasn't his dad. He knew for a fact that he wouldn't have been as royally fucked up as he was if things were different.

Of course Nate knew that he couldn't blame all of his actions on his dad. Cal didn't force him to do the things he did.

Nate did it all on his own, he fucked his own life up.

He was the one who choked Maddy.

He was the one that blackmailed Jules for months.

And he was the one that cheated on Adaline with her best friend.

As much as Nate didn't want to admit it, he knew. He and Cal shared a lot of similar qualities. And that scared him.

Nate didn't want to be anything like Cal. He hated Cal Jacobs with every fiber of his being.

Yet he still protected him for years.

Why?

Maybe it was because of Nate's fear of losing friends, or being made fun of, or maybe he just didn't want to admit that his father was gay.

There wasn't one specific reason that the boy could pinpoint but he knew it wasn't out of love or loyalty.

Nate only loved two people in his life and one of them certainly wasn't Cal.

The Jacobs boy's thoughts finally came to a halt as he reached his destination. Nate knew what he needed to do. There was only one thing standing between him and finally being free from his dad.

So he stormed into the house and grabbed the spare copy of Cal's tapes that he had made just in case. Then the boy was on his way to visit his dad.

He knew Cal was probably hiding out at one of his construction sites. It didn't take Nate long to figure out which one it was.

Nate had to take a deep breath as he sat outside of the construction site. He kept reminding himself why he was doing this.

It was for Addie and Aurora.

He needed to start over with them and this was the first part in doing that. Nate had to let his past go.

He needed to let Cal go.

So with one last deep breath and a quick text to the police chief, who just so happened to be one of Cal's friends, he made his way into the building.

"Enough with the dirty dad jokes." Nate could hear a high pitched female voice laugh. Music was blasting as he made his way to the little party Cal was having with a few hookers.

"Who is that?" A male practically purred eyeing Nate up and down.

"You know him?" Another one of Cal's friends questioned when they noticed the look of horror on Cal's face.

"You're not even gonna give me a hug, Dad?" The boy joked finally breaking his silence as he stood in front of his father.

The older Jacobs man awkwardly moved off of the table he had been sitting on to give his youngest son a short hug.

"That's your son?" The guy that was eye-fucking Nate gasped.

"Yep." Nate hummed keeping his eyes locked on Cal. "Got all the best parts of him."

"Think I know what part that is." The only female of the group smirked eyeing Nate as well.

"You know what I think we have in common?" He asked not bothering to wait for a response. "We both get off on hurting other people. What do ya think?"

"You wanna talk about this upstairs?"

"No." Nate denied shaking his head. "So, you, uh, livin' here now?" He asked looking around the half built place.

"Uh, for the moment, yeah." Cal nodded avoiding looking Nate in the eye.

"Ya happy?"

"I'm figuring it out."

"Are you happier?" Nate pressed on. He couldn't help but think about how unfair it was that Cal was out living his best life while his mom was at home a mess.

"Why don't we go talk about this upstairs?" Cal again tried, hoping to get the boy alone. He didn't need Nate embarrassing him in front of his new 'friends'.

"It's a simple question." The boy shrugged.

"Yes..." The older male trailed off knowing his answer was just going to piss his son off. "In some ways."

"That's not fair."

"I know." Cal sighed rubbing his forehead.

"You don't get to ruin our lives. And then, just... move on and get to be happier." Nate seethed. "Did you even know that Addie had the baby? You're a grandfather now."

"A hot one." One of Cal's friends cut in.

"I've made a lot of mistakes." Cal tried to talk again but Nate cut him off.

"When I was...eleven years old. I found these videos of my dad fีฝcking hฮฟฮฟkers in a motel room." The Jacobs boy ranted earning some wide eyed looks from their audience. "You know, for the longest time, I had this recurring nightmare, just over and over...and in it, he was fีฝcking me the way that he fีฝckะตd them."

"Wow...." The female trailed off but both Jacobs men ignored her.

"Did I ever tell you about that, Dad?" Nate huffed getting in Cal's face.

"I think it's time that...uh, that everybody go." Cal suddenly announced looking at his 'friends'. "Um, I need to talk to my son."

"Good luck." A male whispered patting Cal on the back.

"See ya, buddy." Another smiled sympathetically.

"I spent my whole life trying to protect you. And instead of loving me, you fีฝcking hated me for it." Cal tried to explain his point of view but Nate wasn't listening. "I'm not proud of the person I've been. I know that I've hurt you."

"I don't wanna hear it."

"I tried to keep it separate. I failed. I fีฝckะตd up, Nate...but I love you. I love you." The older man cried trying to put a hand on Nate's shoulder but the boy shrugged him off. "I should've protected you, I should've kept you safe, and I didn't. I didn't. And there's nothing I regret more."

"I don't want your apology." The Jacobs boy scoffed. "I just want revenge."

"What does that mean?" Cal wondered as he watched Nate pull a small flash drive out of his pocket. "What is that?"

"It's everything." Nate smirked.

"Nate..." The man said with wide eyes as he noticed the red and blue lights reflecting in the window. "Don't do this." At the same moment the door to the building opened and the chief walked in. "Nate, look at me. Do not do this. I'm begging you. Don't do this."

"You are who you are." Nate mumbled quietly looking up at his father. "I don't think you're ever gonna change."

"Chief Greenwood?" Cal questioned confused as his friend walked towards the two with handcuffs.

"He's in here." The chief announced to the other officers outside before turning to Nate with a smile. "Thanks, Nate. Appreciate it."

"Nate...." Cal pleaded looking at his son one last time.

"This is for Addie and Aurora." The boy spoke seriously. "I can't have you around them."

"Cal, you're under arrest." Greenwood said grabbing the flash drive from Nate and moving in between the father and son. "Put your hands behind your head. Both of 'em."
