The Party

13:00, 21 September 2024

The boat ride back was silent, Brianna and Jeremy having no way to talk back at Andrew. Lexi continued to be "unconscious" for the whole time until they were carrying her out the boat. Before that, Brent suggested an idea.

"Okay guys, I know everyone is mad at eachother, but let's just pretend to be normal for the rest of the trip. There's no point in ruining this for one more person, including the fact that she'll be stressed when she wakes up." Brent said, turning back to look at Lexi for a brief moment.

Andrew looked down at Lexi who was slightly smirking only for him to see. Everyone stayed silent but nodded their heads reluctantly. When Andrew and Brent helped pull Lexi out of the boat she pretended to wake up.

"Guys what happened?" Lexi asked, holding her forehead as she pretended to struggle to get out by herself. Brent took the lead, not wanting Andrew to ruin anything, "You hit your head in the tube and blacked out. You'll be okay though we're just going to carry you in the house."

Lexi made a slightly angry look at Brent's underestimate, "I can walk!" She stood up and took a few wobbly steps. "See?" Lexi said before tripping on her 5th step. Andrew went to pick her up and ran playfully with her across the dock and back to the house. Brent hated the way Andrew flirted with Lexi and how happy she looked.

Later in the afternoon, Brianna came in holding her phone and looking really excited. "Guys! Okay so the really cool people I know up here are going to come over and party!" Everyone kind of stood there for a second since they weren't all very big on partying. "Oh guys come on lighten up. There'll be cute guys, music, alcohol..."

Everyone put on fake smiles except Dom, Jeremy and Emma who actually liked partying. They all put on nice outfits, Lexi in a tiny black dress and Andrew in a varsity bomber jacket, a black t-shirt and black jeans.

As the sun started to set and the sky became dark, people flooded in. Not just people Brianna knew but also the people who knew the people Brianna knew. That cycle went on and on, each person in the crowd becoming strangers at this point.

Lexi and Andrew sat in the privacy of a dark corner, talking about what Lexi overheard while pretending to be knocked out. Andrew looked around and saw that everyone they knew was in another room and he grabbed her face and kissed her. "I don't like the way the other guys look at you." Andrew whispered, breathless. He continued to kiss her, showing everyone she was his. Lexi was taken aback and she couldn't help but cling to Andrew.

Brent walked up to Jeremy after realizing the extent of Lexi and Andrew's relationship. "Jeremy, see that guy over there." Brent said, pointing at a tall, handsome guy with light brown hair. "Yeah I do why?" Jeremy asked, looking at the guy like he had a secret. "I'm sure you've noticed Andrew and Lexi." Brent said, teasing Jeremy.

"Yeah what about it." Jeremy said as he angrily took a sip of his drink. "Well, get that guy to try and go for Lexi and you get a chance with Lexi plus 50 bucks." Brent offered, pulling out her wallet. "How would I even do that, no way Lexi would leave Andrew like that." Jeremy replied, thinking his hardest about a solution. "I'll grab a drink with Andrew and you talk to that guy saying that like Lexi will get with any dude and that he should shoot his shot. Assuming he's a douche." Brent replied as he looked up thinking hard.

"I don't know man." Jeremy said. "Oh come on you can lie about you two sleeping together why is this any different." Brent replied annoyed. Jeremy complied and walked away towards the guy but he was still upset. Brent went over and took Andrew away from Lexi leaving her all alone.

Jeremy on the other hand went up to the dude. "Sup' dude." Jeremy said trying to sound cool. "What's up man. What's your name?" The guy asked holding out his hand. Jeremy dapped him up and said, "Jeremy, what about you?" The guy shook Jeremy's hand hard, "Tristan." Jeremy smiled, "Ah Tristan. Nice to meet you. So you're probably wondering why I'm here." Tristan nodded his head awkwardly. "See that girl over there? Her name's Lexi. You should go shoot your shot, you're just her type."

Tristan looked confused, "Why don't you just date her?" Jeremy smiled with a glint of sadness in his eyes, "It's complicated but this isn't about me. Go up to her. You won't regret it." Tristan thought for a while, "I might as well." He walked away towards the corner where Lexi was.

"Hi I'm Tristan." Tristan said shaking Lexi's hand. Lexi shook it back softly, "I'm Lexi." She tried to show minimal interest but the guy didn't pick up on it. "I couldn't help but notice a pretty girl like you standing all alone by yourself." Lexi scooted slightly away, "Oh uhm yeah I'm just waiting for someone." Tristan smiled and scooted back closer, "For me?" Tristan then tried to grab her waist and kiss her. Lexi immediately pushed away, "Sorry I don't feel comfortable with this." Tristan wouldn't give it up, "Oh come on you know you want it." He kept pushing her and trying to touch her.

Andrew was busy getting his drink with Brent when he looked over to check in Lexi. He turned to see a guy all over her and trying to touch her. He ran up to the guy and pushed him off. "Hey what are you doing?!" Andrew could clearly see the guy was drunk. "Whatever she said she wanted to." Tristan said while Lexi looked at Andrew scared, "You're disgusting." Andrew said while reaching to hold Lexi. "Get out of here."

Andrew pulled Lexi into a deep hug, kissing her forehead. This wasn't games anymore, it was clear that Jeremy and Brent had set them up for some reason. But that wasn't important right now. Right now was about Lexi and how she was feeling. But in that moment, while holding Lexi, Andrew passed out...
