Lies and Heartbreak

08:59, 12 September 2024

Other than Lexi having a period with Andrew she also had some with Jeremy and Emma which weren't exactly her favorite classes but they were good enough. In her class (4th period) with Jeremy, he dropped a bomb on her.

"Lexi, Brianna and Andrew are pretty cute don't you think?" Jeremy asked with a mischievous smile. Lexi's eyes widenened with shock, "What do you mean?" Jeremy smiled at him and Brianna's plan, "Brianna didn't tell you?! They slept together the night they went to the movies!" Lexi started tearing up, it's not like her and Andrew were together but she just started to trust him again and this wasn't helping.

Lexi played it off cool, "Oh no she didn't tell me. I guess they would look cute together." She looked into nowhere like she was picturing them together. "I saw them the other day and they are actually pretty cute." Lexi was furious at this point. The other day could've only been yesterday, right before they made up.

Jeremy continued on and on until the bell rang and Lexi could not wait to get out. She felt like she was suffocating in information about Andrew and Brianna's hookup. Andrew and Brianna on the other hand, didn't have a class together. So in between 4th and 5th period Brianna stopped Andrew in the hallway.

She pulled him to the side and started whispering in his ear. "Hey, did you hear Lexi and Jeremy hooked up?" Andrew face burned with jealousy, "What no!" Brianna couldn't help but laugh at her plan playing out perfectly, "Lexi told me that she did on Tuesday while we were out."

Brianna looked down the hall to see Lexi watching her and Andrew. Everyone else had cleared out the hallways and clearly Jeremy had done a great job by the look on Lexi's face. "Lexi's looking down at us right now so just kiss me and make her jealous." Andrew was about to walk way when Brianna pulled his arm and kissed him.

Andrew pulled away as fast as he could but it didn't undo the damage. The kiss was merely a peck but it was enough to hit Lexi like a punch in the face. She had already disappeared, probably off crying somewhere.

The bell rang for 5th period and Andrew couldn't risk getting in trouble for being late as the new kid. He wanted to run to Lexi and confess his love but he knew now was not the time.

Lexi had gone to the bathroom, tears already falling from her eyes. She hated Andrew, how could she fall for his tricks twice? At this point she was blaming herself for ever trying to be with him. He was a player, nothing more. She touched up her makeup before heading over to 5th period.

For Andrew and Lexi, the time seemed to go by 5 times slower. Each tick worsened the growing feeling in Andrew's stomach. He couldn't run from his problems anymore, his next period was with Lexi and he would have to face the consequences.

Andrew drummed his on his desk, trying to distract himself for what was going to happen in the next 10 minutes. The bell rang and Andrew walked as slow as he could to the next class. He was being such a coward, even he couldn't believe himself.

He took his seat next to Lexi, she wasn't there yet. After 5 minutes had passed and everyone was settled in she still hadn't come. Andrew grew worried but eventually he figured she'd gone home. Still, Andrew looked over at the back door and her seat every minute. He got nothing done in that class but that wasn't even close to being the first thing on his mind.

Lexi was at home after she told the school she felt sick. That wasn't a lie. She did feel sick but not in the way people normally do. The image of Brianna's lips on Andrew's burned a hole through her heart. Lexi had always imagined that would be her kissing him. She kept trying to make up excuses in her head for why he would kiss her but nothing helped Lexi's broken heart.

As soon as the time turned to 3, Andrew rushed out of the class before the teacher could even finish his goodbyes. He sent a text to Lexi.

Andrew- Lexi, it's not what you think I promise

Lexi- Andrew we both know that this conversation isn't meant for text

Andrew- So you want to wait till tomorrow? Because I can wait if that's what you want

Lexi- No Andrew it's okay, just come over. I'll let you explain yourself before I assume okay?

Andrew- Okay thank you Lexi

Lexi had only said that because she wanted what she saw to not be true. She wanted there to be a reason as to why he kissed her. Andrew on the other hand, immediately began to think hard on the drive there about what to say. "Andrew just speak from the heart, if you love her you'll do it." Andrew thought to himself.

He parked on the other side of the street and he began to fix his hair and his clothes on the walk to the door. The sight of her house made him nervous already, imagining what was going to happen inside. Lexi greeted him surprisingly warmly as she led him to her room. They both took a seat side by side on her bed, sitting against her silk pillows.

"Lexi, I really want to explain if that's okay with you." Andrew said, desperately trying to prove how much he loved Lexi. "Andrew, of course I don't want this to be true but if you're with Brianna just say it. I'd rather have you two together than have you lie and go behind my back."

"Okay well first I want to say that Brianna told me you slept with Jeremy." Andrew said, the words struggling to come out his mouth. Lexi made a disgusted face, "EW WHAT?! That's not true. Plus Jeremy told me you and Brianna slept together the night you went to the movies." Andrew's face was priceless, he couldn't even imagine sleeping with her. "No I didn't she's kinda rude. Don't tell her I said that." Lexi laughed a little, a sound that Andrew missed. Both of them shared the same shocked expressions, connecting the dots. They both got played by Brianna and Jeremy.

"Well then this makes my point a lot easier. Brianna stopped me to tell me that you and Jeremy slept together since we don't have any classes together. I was obviously shocked and she said 'why don't you just kiss me to make her jealous'." Andrew said, still not proving his innocence. Lexi waited with a judgemental look on her face, hinting for him to continue.

"I didn't want to though and I was about to walk away I swear but she pulled me back!" Andrew said, nearly yelling at this point without realizing it. Lexi took a moment to replay when Brianna and Andrew kissed and now that she heard it, it really did seem like Andrew was about to walk away.

"Okay Andrew, I believe you but it doesn't mean you don't owe me." Lexi said, smiling while trying hard not to bite her lip. "Owe you what?" Andrew asked in a flirty tone. Lexi just smirked, taking in the sight of Andrew's handsome smile and his messy hair. "You'll see." Lexi said...
