Hyunjin's POV

I woke up as my alarm rang. My phone has a notification that my phone alarmed for a few times, which I didn't notice. I mean I don't wake up early.

Where's Chaerin?

She is not beside me. I usually wake up earlier than her because her schedule will start two hours after mine. I stood up and went to the bathroom, but it was locked.

"Chaerin?"

No response.

"Babe, are you inside?"

"Just a minute." she said and a few seconds after she opened the door

"You okay?"

Her eyes looks like she just cried.

"Chaerin, you cried? What happened? Is something wrong? Are you hurt?"

She shook her head and gave me a smile, a fake one, I can tell the difference.

"Chaerin-"

She suddenly hugged me tight which shocked me and she started crying. I froze as I didn't expect her to cry so much.

"What happened? Did a patient cursed on you again?"

She is not talking and continued crying.

There are times that Chaerin would come home crying because of a patient, it's either she was too emotional of someone's situation, or someone talked bad to her.

"Chae, tell me." I whispered and kept caressing her back as I kiss her forehead "You told me that patients easily gets irritated because they are sick and not comfortable. Just be patient with them."

She let go of the hug and she stopped crying.

"You want me to stay? I can reschedule the hearing for today."

"I'm fine. I just needed the hug." she said

"Come here." I said and hugged her even tighter as I kiss her forehead a few times "I love you. You are so good with your job. You're doing so well, love."

I just had a small conversation with her trying to make her feel alright. I don't want to leave her with a lot of negative thoughts. I stayed with her until she fell asleep.

As soon as she fell asleep, I went to the bathroom and got ready. Today is Sangmi's hearing and I needed to be there. But if Chaerin wanted me to stay, I'd stay.

I finished getting ready, Chaerin is still asleep.

"I love you. I'll be back as soon as possible." I whispered and kissed her forehead carefully trying not to wake her up

I left the house and drove to the trial court, where Sangmi and I will meet. I know being with Sangmi bothers Chaerin so much, and as much as possible I wanted this to be done, or give this case to another attorney in my law firm.

I arrived at the trial court, Sangmi was standing outside in front of her. She waved her hand at me which I ignored.

"We're going to be late."

"Okay. That jerk went inside." she said

"Just say what I told you to. Don't do anything stupid inside the court or else we will lose."

"Okay. Fine. I know what to do." she boredly said and left first

"Thank you." I told the judge and bowed

But deep inside, I am so mad not at the judge but I am mad at Sangmi. She never fucking told me that she also cheated on her ex boyfriend first in a bar, she was caught making out.

Her ex boyfriend looked at her and chuckled as he knew that things were going too well for him. He left with his attorney.

"That jerk." she whispered

"Why didn't you tell me about it?"

"And if I tell you? Would you help me?" Sangmi

"Of course. I just needed to be ready to whatever possibilities they will throw at us just to win the case."

"That was a long time ago. I don't even remember-" Sangmi

"But the fact that you cheated first gave him the chance to get back at you. You should've told me and could've came up with an excuse."

"I forgot to tell you." Sangmi

"I'll tell the other attorney to handle your case. This is messing up with me. Besides, I don't feel comfortable with you. I know it's crazy of me to involve work and personal matters. I don't like the fact that I am handling your case after what happened in the past that involves you."

"Whatever. Just say that you couldn't handle my case." she said and left the trial court

I arranged my things and left as well. Her car is not here anymore. I got in my car and was about to leave when I remembered Chaerin.

calling Chaerin...

"Chaerin, you feeling better now? I'm on my way home. Don't go to work. Let's spend time together."

[Hmm... Okay. I'll tell the head doctor.]

"I don't know what is happening since you don't want to tell me. But please, always know that things weren't always bad."

[Thank you so much. I didn't felt tired these past few months because I hadn't have the chance to complain. Maybe that's why I suddenly felt down and tired.]

"You want something? I can bring home if you want."

[Just go home, Hyunjin. Your presence is enough. That's all I needed.]

"Okay. I'll be there in a few minutes. Can you wait?"

[Of course. Hahaha! It's not like you can fly all the way here in an instant.]

"If you want to, I can."

[Just go home. I need you.]

"Hmm... I love you."

She ended the call without even saying it.
