Chapter 1: New Beginnings

Emme woke up to the soft morning glow glimmering down on her face with big strong arms wrapped around her bare chest as she felt light feathery kiss on her bare shoulder. She smiled as she turned to face him.

"Good morning." She said with a light smile. Coriolanus smiled down at her giving her a kiss.

"Good morning, dove.." he said as he dipped his head down to her exposed neck.

It's been two years since the hunger games and the loss of Sejanus. Two years of no contact with your her family except her grandmother and on the rare occasion her mother. Two years of waking up next to who she deemed as the love of her life. During that time Tigris had moved out and Grandma'am going to stay with her from time to time to give the 'Lovebirds' some space. Two years since she started working at an office and since Coriolanus has been working game maker and now on his campaign for president.

  It was mornings like these that Emme loved. She felt loved and safe in her lovers strong arms.

"How are you this morning?" Coriolanus asked. Emme sat up and smiled.

"Fine but, I actually should get up and get ready. I have a meeting this morning." Emme replied as she sat up. Coriolanus smirked wrapping his arms around her kissing her bare shoulder.

"Or you could stay for a while longer." He whispered with a teasing smile. Emme bit her lip trying not to smile back before he yanked her back down causing her to giggle before it was replaced with a kiss.

"There you are!" Lyssie said rushing up to walk next to Emme. "The meeting starts in an hour! Where have you been?"

"You know how he is sometimes." Emme replied smiling at the memory from this morning. Lyssie smirk rolling her eyes.

"Well in that case. You should use this" Lyssie said hading her a compact. "to cover up your neck before the meeting."

  Emme blushed in embarrassment taking the compact and biding a quick thank you. Which earned a chuckle from Lyssie. Before rushing to the restroom to cover up the marks.

"Oh Ms. Reinswood could you stay back a moment?" Klara your manager asked. Lyssie gave Emme a worried expression as she left.

"I-if this is about this morning I can explain-" "Calm down Emme it's nothing of the sort." Klara assured. Emme's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Then what is it you wanted to speak to me about?" Emme asked.

"Well the head department and I have been talking for a while now and they want you to move up to second and command for the administration." Klara explained, Emme's mouth gapped open in surprise. "Now, of course you can think about it as far as I know they are not changing their minds."

"I-I don't know what to say. I- Thank you." Emme said. Klara chuckled clasping her hands.

"Now, of course you can think about it as far as I know they are not changing their minds." Klara added.

"I'm going to have to talk about with my partner first but I'm sure it'll be fine. I'll let you know! Thank you!" Emme said. Klara nodded.

"You deserved it. Now that is everything you are free to head back to your desk." Klara said opening the door Emme nodded smiling as she left going back to her cubicle.

"Thank god what happened?" Lyssie asked popping her head over as well as Clemensia.

"So you know how at drinks last week I said that they were making me do a lot of higher up works?" Emme whispered they nodded.

"I got promoted to second and command administrative position!" She whispered shouted the two girls gapped before smiling.

"Congratulations!"

"You deserve it!"

"Okay okay we are definitely getting drinks tonight so tell Coriolanus you're busy." Clemensia exclaimed causing the two to laugh and nod.

"Of course, I just have to tell him first before I come over." Emme said Clemensia nodded proudly before they all went back to work.

  By The time work was over Emme was the last to finish up after a long day of organising and getting ready for the big change in her career status.

"Excuse me are you Ms.Reinswood?" A peacekeeper asked Emme. She looked at him confused and slightly scared.

"Y-yes it is." She replied.

"Dr.Gaul has ordered me to bring you to her. She would like to see you immediately." The peacekeeper said. Emme's eye brows furrowed.

"Did she say why?" She asked. The peacekeeper shook his head before opening the door to lead her out and take her to Dr. Gaul.
