10:16, 1 January 2024Sidney and Tatum were currently with Dewey in his patrol car, going down Main Street. Dewey and Tatum were arguing while Sidney looked out the window. "A party? Mom's gonna kill you, then she's gonna kill me." Tatum scoffed at her brother and rolled her eyes. "Don't be so self-righteous. It's just a little blow out, perfectly safe."
Sidney was still staring out the window, seeing closed signs fill the storefronts. A few people had rushed into their cars in an attempt to get home before the curfew began. She scoffed at this " god look at this place, the town that dreaded sundown." Dewey looked in the rearview mirror slightly smiling for actually knowing a horror movie pun. "Hey, I saw that movie. True story ,it's about a murderer in Texas."
Tatum began to laugh at the thought of a true story. "Hey Sid, just think if they make a movie about you.. who would play you?" Sidney laughed at this. Dewey comes to a stop in front of the police station, looking at Sidney through the mirror with a brotherly smile. They pile out of the jeep, Dewey heading for the station. The two girls head for the supermarket not to far from the station that sat across the street.
"Is Billy going to be there tonight?" Sidney asked, slightly scared of the answer. She was relieved when Tatum shook her head no. "He better not be. I told Stu to keep his mouth shut. I think we can live without 'Everybody's All American' for one night." They approach the grocery store, a small and simple store that took the look of a small town store. The girls grabbed a shopping cart being told by the store clerk to hurry because of the curfew.
They make a bee-line for the junk food section just as the automatic doors slide close. Billy, once again as Ghostface, appears out of nowhere, standing outside watching through the glass windows. Meanwhile, Stu & Mary were setting up at Stu's house for the party. Stu could sense that Mary was nervous about something, but didn't know how to ask about it. He finally got the nerve, and put a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump in surprise. Stu held up his hands in surrender, showing it was just him.
"I'm sorry..I'm just nervous for tonight.. that's all" Stu laughed at her, before looking in her eyes to see doubt and fear. Stu lifted her chin with his finger, having her look him in the eyes. "It's going to be fine, and you, me and Billy will be heroes. Martyrs." Mary sighed at this, but nodded her head. "Come on Mary.. you gonna show up as Bloody Mary tonight." Stu playfully nudged her. Mary smirked at this, as she loved the nickname the boys made her. "Do you remember how I got that nickname?" Mary looked at her friend in wonder.
-Flashback-
It was the night that her mom had died, and she was there standing next to Billy. The deed hadn't been done yet, but she had just found out from Billy, that her mom had an affair with his father. She was angry, furious and felt betrayed. She was never home, so she never realized what was wrong. She had bought a costume from a local halloween store, a black costume with a white mask. Billy made the plan to kill her mom, and surprisingly, wanting revenge, she was in on it. The two had put the costume on, and went after her mother, right after she had sex with Cotton Weary. He had left his jacket, so it would be easy to frame. They dressed in the costumes, and Billy chased Maureen through the house. Sidney only ever saw who she thought was Cotton, but Mary had stabbed her mother over and over. She was covered from head to toe in her mother's blood -- and Billy, once they got home looked her over. "Wow.. you look like Bloody Mary."
-Back to Present-
At the supermarket, back with Sidney and Tatum, they were walking through the chip section, grabbing whatever they wanted. "Billy's right. Whenever he touches me, I can't just relax." Sidney sighs while Tatum just shrugs at her friends words. "So what, you have a few intimacy issues as a result of your mothers untimely death. It's no big deal." Sidney shook her head in disagreement.
"But he's been so patient with me, Tatum. You know.. with all the sex stuff. How many guys would put up with a girlfriend who is sexually anorexic." Tatum shook her head at her friend, before turning Sidney to look at her. "Billy and his penis do not deserve you Sid." Sidney just laughed as she grabbed some chips and salsa from the shelf. Down the aisle, the ghost face is still watching through the window, tracking the girls every move. Sidney pushes the cart back to Dewey's truck.
They began having complete sex talk while loading their groceries into the jeep. "What do you think about when you're having sex Tatum?" Tatum looks like she was taken off guard, but shrugs. "With Stu, there's little time to stop and reflect. But sometimes before, to relax and get in the mood, I think about Grant Goodeve."
Sidney looks at her friend confused. "Who?" Tatum looks at her friend, with fake shock on her face before laughing. "Grant Goodeve -- the oldest brother on 'Eight is Enough' Remember that show? He was the one who lived off alone. He would come around every now and then with his guitar and sing 'eight is enough to fill our lives with love..' " Sidney watched her friend as she spaced out into dreamland, thinking about her favorite fictional character, not saying anything so her friend could continue. "He had all these brain dead sisters and that idiot brother from 'Charles in Charge'. God, I was in love with Grant, he was so hot. The show came on every day after school right during my puberty years. Grant Goodeve was very instrumental in my maturing as a woman." Sidney nodded in understanding, but was also still confused on how it was relevant.
She asked her how that got her in the mood, and Tatum explained that she was sing the theme song in her head during foreplay. Sidney shook her head in disbelief, and Tatum explained that the song was a real turn on because of the line 'eight is enough.' The girls walked the cart to the cart return still talking about sex, like Sidney was getting herself ready for something.
Sidney stops short of a laugh, and Tatum smiles at her. The girls pull the door of the jeep down, finished loading the groceries. Ghostface appears behind them, completely out of view. Tatum shoves the cart down the parking lot blindly, gaining speed and running right into Billy, as ghost face who stops it with one cold hand. He glared at the girls, waiting in the shadows.
-At Stu's house-
Mary was tired of being led on by the boy she thought of as her boyfriend. Stu said he liked her, but refused to break up with Tatum. She wanted Tatum dead, and although Tatum wasn't technically part of the plan, she had her way of getting what she wanted. Stu looked over at his friend and saw a look on her that he didn't see very often. Stu & Billy usually did the killing, and Mary was the one who did the planning, but lately, Mary has become more involved than both boys were used to.
Stu sat down next to the girl, and tried to get him to look at her. Mary spun around absently, not knowing her surroundings and grabbed a knife, pointing it at Stu. "Woah.. it's just me." Stu held his hands up in surrender, trying not to get stabbed. At least not yet. Mary breathed out, getting caught off guard yet again. "Sorry Stu.. just stuff on my mind." Stu looked at her concerned, he knew that if she was hurt in any way, outside of the plan, that Billy would kill him. Billy thought of her as his little sister, and was extremely protective of her. "Wanna talk it out?" Stu tilted his head in concern.
Mary took a breath and nodded. "Why won't you break up with Tatum, Stu?" Stu wasn't expecting this, and took a sharp breathe. "I..I don't know. I guess it's a tough decision" He smiled cheekily. "But you know I love you." Mary rolled her eyes at the boy, while playing with the knife that she grabbed. "Make up your mind soon, because she just may become a casualty tonight.." Stu looked at the girl, knowing he wouldn't be able to change her mind. When Mary was in a mood like this, she was darker then Billy. More devious, more destructive. He nodded, and made his way out of the room, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
