08:47, 1 January 2024Mary had gotten into the costume, and went into the girls bathroom, hiding in the far end stall. She heard her sister walk in, shortly after followed by two girls. Mary stood on the toilet, crouching to try and stay comfortable. The two random girls weren't part of the plan, so she had to stay put until Sidney was alone. The girls were having a conversation that had her and Sidney the topic.
"They were never attacked. I think Sidney made it all up." The one girl said, a blonde who was fixing her make up in the mirror. "Why would she lie about it?" The other cheerleader simply asked. Mary rolled her eyes at the girls ignorance, having no choice but to continue listening in.
"For attention, the girl has some serious issues." Sidney and Mary were listening intently to the conversation. Sidney was hiding in the stall, while the two girls were checking themselves out in the mirrors. While Mary was annoyed and upset, Sidney felt defeated. "What if she did it? What if Sidney killed Casey and Steve?" The blonde was talking out her ass, Mary thought. Of course Sidney didn't do it. She isn't that creative.
"And why would she do that?" The brunette girl who was with the blonde obviously didn't share her friends views. The blonde rolled her eyes at her friend. "Maybe she was hot for Steve, and killed in a jealous rage." The brunette looked at her friend, while Mary had to put a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing.
"Why would Sidney want to be with Steve? She's got her own bubble-butt boyfriend, Billy." There was some shuffling around, and the conversation continued. Sidney's face had fallen weak, and she had a defeated aura to her. "Maybe she's a slut, just like her mom." Mary heard the other girl say. She took in a sharp breath. She knew that her mom was a whore, but hearing other people say so drove her to the core. The two girls continued talking, when the second girl spoke up. "Cut her some slack, she watched her mom get butchered."
The first girl, the blonde merely rolled her eyes at her friend, and turned to look at her. "Yeah, and it fucked her up royally. It makes perfect sense." The girl turned back to the mirror, talking still. "Her mom's death leaves her distraught and hostile at a cruel and inhumane world, she's disillusioned, where's god etc. Completely suicidal. And one day she snaps." She tilts her head mockingly watching herself in the mirror. "She wants to kill herself but realizes teen suicide is out this year, and homicide is a much healthier therapeutic expression."
The two girls left the bathroom, leaving just Mary and Sidney alone together in the bathroom, Sidney not even realizing that her twin is there with her. Sidney already on high alert, looked in the mirror, tear streaks down her face. Water was dripping from a pipe above, and wind coming through the vent almost sounding like a whisper of her name. Sidney spins around, expecting to see someone. She checks out the bathroom, the doors to all the stalls being closed. Sidney bent down to scan beneath them, seeing no feet. Of course, because Mary was standing on the toilet in her costume.
Sidney turns back around when she hears her name whispered in the air again. The whisper strikes Sidney like a nail through the eye, coming from the last stall. She eyes the stall through the mirror. "Who's there?". There was a silence before a voice came, a mans voice, despite it being Mary behind the mask. A voice changer. "It's Me.. Sidney."
Sidney spins around, terror flooding her face. She checked under the stalls again, still seeing nothing. She took a step forward to leave the bathroom, when two feet step down from the toilet onto the floor. Sidney's face becomes blank as the door begins to creak open and she tries to make a run for it. She slips on a puddle of water, ending up on the floor. She catches herself, while seeing the ghost face and pushes the person into the sink, earning a groan from them.
Mary, groaning in pain, hurries up and takes the costume off, while she hears her sister screaming in the hallway. "Dammit.." Mary whispers, eyeing the incoming bruise on her side that her sister had caused her. Sidney had gone to the principal, and told him that someone tried to kill her in the school bathroom. Mary was leaving the bathroom, when Billy roughly pulled her arm into the corner.
"What the hell happened." Billy whispered angrily to the girl. Mary pulled her arm away from Billy, rubbing it where his grip was. She looked at the boy angrily, their fury matching up to each others. "She rammed me into a sink and got away. I'm sorry that my pain fucked us over Billy." Mary spat with Venom. Billy rolled his eyes at the girl, and ran his hand over his face. "It's fine.. we were just trying to scare her anyways." The pair went to go to class, when an announcement came over saying that school was being let out early, and was not going to open again until the serial killer was caught.
-A couple minutes later-
Tatum and Mary have met up with Sidney and were escorting her outside while school was clearing out. The girls were talking about ghost face in the bathroom, when Stu suddenly appears next to them. He hands Mary a flower, before talking about how school was out. Tatum, taking another flower from Stu rolled her eyes at the boy. "Stu, drop it." Mary looked at the girl, and then at Stu with jealousy. Stu caught her eye and chuckled, handing another flower over to Sidney.
"Okay but whatever you did Sidney, on behalf of the entire student body- we thank you" Stu bowed to the three girls in happiness and a fake thank you. Mary chuckled at her best friend, and smelled her flower that was obviously picked from the grass in the court yard. Stu moves to Tatum, kissing her, with Mary glaring into the back of Tatum's head. "And to celebrate this impromptu fall break, I propose we have a party. My place tomorrow." Sidney looks at her friend incredibly and in disbelief.
"Are you serious?" Sidney scoffs and Mary looks at her twin. She puts a hand on her shoulder, "c'mon Sid.. live a little." Sidney shakes her sister off, while Stu pulls Tatum over his shoulder while they keep walking. "My parents are out of town. It'll be like my hurricane bash last year. Nothing extreme, just a few of us." Mary smiled at her sister, trying to convince her that it'll be fine to let loose. "Remember, safety is in numbers Sid." Sidney looks at her sister and nods in agreement. "Cool! See you guys later, and bring food!" Stu says, doing an air guitar as the girls walk away in excitement. Mary sees him do this, and chuckles in amusement at her friend. This party is going to be the end of everything.
-At the School-
Billy had never left the school. Mary had left the costume where he could get it and change for his chance. Mr. Himbry was sitting at his desk, staring at the ghost face masks from the two hooligans that ran around in the hallway before him. He moved over to his closet, looking in the mirror trying the mask on when there is a knock on his door.
He takes the mask off, and goes to open the door to reveal nothing but an empty doorway. He pokes his head out into the outer office area but there is no one there. The entire place was empty. Mr. Himbry closes the door catching his reflection, scaring himself then, another knock at the door. Mr. Himbry opens the door quickly this time, throwing it open. Once again, no one was there. He steps out into the outer office, determined to find who was trying to prank him.
The entire area was completely empty. He moved through the outer office and into the school corridor. He looks up and down the hall, only seeing a janitor mopping the floor in the whole space. "Little shits.." he mumbled to himself. Mr. Himbry made his way back into his office.
When he enters the office, he looks to see the closet door, that he had left open- now shut closed. Shifting uneasily, he took hold of the door knob, pulling the door open to reveal an empty closet. Himbry shakes the chill up his spine away, realizing once again that he had scared himself. He goes to his desk when the ghost face lunges from behind the door, with a sharp knife in hand. He stabbed Mr. Himbry three times quickly in the chest, causing him to fall down, with ghost face towering over him.
