anxiety was eating quinn alive.

he knew he shouldn't be worrying. devon wouldn't lie about that kind of things but still a little part in the back of his mind was making him overthink and worry.

he tried to ignore it, and was successful for the most part considering hockey did a pretty good job but just as he arrived to his house, the worrying came back.

he took deep breaths, leaving his bag and keys on the living room and dialing devon's phone as he walked to his room.

"hello?"

"hey dev" quinn greeted, as enthusiastically as he could.

"quinn! hey, i didn't check the caller id. how was practice?" devon asked, holding mr teddy fluffy bear tight to her chest.

"it was okay, really tiring" quinn sighed, desperately hoping that devon would just tell him what's wrong.

"are you okay?"

"are you really asking me that?" quinn retorted, causing devon to frown.

"i'm sorry, just trying to lift the mood" dev chuckled without humor "baby, it's really nothing bad, i swear" devon assured, her nerves building up by the second.

"yeah but the whole concept of 'i have to talk to you' doesn't sound really good" quinn muttered, feeling like he might die.

"okay, okay, don't get mad on me. so, i don't know if you've seen but for months, since someone leaked our account, people have been bugging me online" she confessed, pushing her legs to her chest for comfort.

"bugging you how?"

"just constantly asking if i'm with you and some people hate on me but i don't care too much about that" devon said, already regretting opening her mouth "i guess i was just scared to ask you about this cause i never had to worry about this before but things are different now and you're kinda famous" she rambled, causing a tiny smile to appear on quinn's face. her cuteness completely evaporating his nerves.

"i'm not famous dev, i just play hockey" he chuckled, relaxing a bit when he heard her laugh.

"yeah, yeah, mr. humble. i don't mind it but i just wanted to ask if you had ever considered to make our relationship public. not right now! just in the near future" she asked, her nerves making her not shut up.

she had been nervous to have this conversation with him because she didn't know how he would take it. they had never had to worry about this kind of stuff before but devon was getting sick of the comments and she kinda wanted to show them that she had him as a way of saying 'suck it, he's my boyfriend not yours'. childish, but she didn't care.

"oh, that's such a relief. devy, of course i want to. i want everyone to know that i'm the luckiest guy alive" quinn revealed, finally feeling like he could breathe.

"really? cause i wasn't sure you wanted to and i was scared to ask cause i thought you would get mad. i'm not trying to force you either but i don't think i can handle being in a secret relationship and i'm not asking you to be super public! just like, like secret public you know? like being able to at least interact online. i don't know, i'm really nervous" she rambled nervously, unaware that quinn was smiling ear to ear as he listened to her intently.

"baby, you don't have to be scared about anything with me, ever, especially concerning us. you know i'm not a super social media guy but if you want to and you think it's the best decision for you, go ahead. as long as i have happy dev by my side i don't care about anything" and he was telling the truth. he truly did not care about what anyone else had to say, if she wanted to make their relationship public he would agree cause all he cared about was her.

"i love you so much, i'm so lucky" devon smiled, thanking whatever was up there for giving her the best boy she knew.

"i'm the lucky one. i'm gonna post something right now" quinn declared, putting the call on speaker as he navigated through instagram.

"quinn! you don't have to, really! i just wanted to make sure"

"i don't care, i'm already posting it" quinn laughed, adamant on doing it since he knew it would make her feel better.

"i wish you were here right now" devon whispered, hoping to distract him.

"i'm ignoring your insinuation by posting a picture"

"that's a first"

"done. i love you devon, so much. you don't ever have to worry, okay?" he assured as she saw the notification on her phone.

a huge smile took over, feeling warmth in her chest at the sweet gesture he had done "i love you more quinn. go to sleep now okay? i can tell you're tired"

"a little. do you feel better already?" he asked, refusing to go to sleep if she was still feeling down.

"so much because i have the best boyfriend in the world. go to sleep my love, i'll talk to you tomorrow"

"go to sleep too. i love you baby, good night"
