devon wasn't a party person. at least not anymore.

she used to be a beast all through high school and college but once the tragedy happened, she stopped going.

it had been a couple years and she was slowly trying to build that person back. she genuinely enjoyed going to parties.

by the time she was putting on her shoes jule was knocking loudly on her door, yelling at her to hurry up.

she quickly grabbed her phone, lipstick, keys and quickly walked out of her bedroom where jule was waiting.

"jesus devon, you take ages"

"you've been taking me to parties for years yet you still complain"

"shut up. let's go"

thankfully the party wasn't that far. devon had completely forgotten who's house it was, all she wanted was to get drunk and be with her friends.

"my girlfriend! i missed you!" sunny yelled with a big grin, running to hug devon.

"it's been so long darling!" devon smiled, hugging her back. acting like they hadn't seen each other in years.

"come on guys, i need vodka" jule grinned, grabbing sunny's waist and pushing her to the entrance of the house.

it was huge and you could barely walk through the hallways with the amount of people standing there but they managed to enter the kitchen after a little struggle, molly immediately grabbing some soda from the fridge since she had self appointed herself to be the designated driver while jule found a bottle of vodka, mixing it with some soda and doing a drink for sunny too. devon just grabbed the nearest bottle of tequila and took two shots.

"you will literally pass out in an hour" sunny said, looking at devon with a grin as she licked the salt off her hand.

"try me" devon challenged, looking at her with a matching grin.

turns out, everyone underestimated devon. it was past midnight and she was still acting sober enough, even if she had taken several more shots and more drinks. they spent the night dancing and meeting new people, getting more drunk by the second but having a good time.

"hey guys! i'm gonna find a bathroom!" devon yelled over the music, her friends nodding while she gave molly her drink for safekeeping. devon turned around and walked to what she vaguely remembers to be the direction of the bathroom.

thankfully it was and after doing her business she walked out, having a bounce in her step as she walked back to her friends. just as she was about to round the corner she smacked into someone, immediately putting her hands on the person's chest to get away from them.

"hey, pretty girl"

"hello" devon muttered, giving the guy she barreled into a quick fake smile before side stepping him but the guy grabbed her wrist and pushed her back to the wall.

"why does a pretty girl like you walk alone?" the guys asked, letting go of her wrist but walking closer to her.

if devon had learned anything it was to not get intimidated. usually guys who were too full of themselves got put off when the girl was more intimidating than them, or they could get madder, but right now devon was drunk and she had no patience for this kind of bullshit.

"i'm not alone" she replied, looking him in the eyes with a glare.

they guy smirked, putting his mouth by her ear making devon physically wince in disgust and cringe "then you must be looking for some"

"i have a boyfriend" devon smiled, moving her head to be at level with his eyes. by the way his gaze hardened, she knew she was making him mad and in some weird way it exhilarated her. it was kinda funny.

"he doesn't have to know" the guy said. devon thought he might have tried to make his voice huskier but it just sounded as if he had lost his voice. this dude was literally the most embarrassing guy devon had ever met.

"dude, back off" devon laughed snarkily, pushing him out of her way. the guy had a gobsmacked look on his face, genuinely looking surprised she was rejecting him.

to his advantage, julien walked towards them, stopping beside devon while looking at the guy in front of him, narrowing his eyes "everything good?"

"i was just leaving" the guy muttered, walking away with his head low.

"that guy was honestly embarrassing" devon chuckled, looking at his retreating form in humor.

"was he trying to hit on you?" jule asked, looking down at her. devon nodded with a laugh, still finding the guy so fucking stupid "bet quinn would've beaten him up by now"

"he probably would've" devon agreed with a smile, biting her lip in thought.

"dude, you're sick" jule chuckled.

"come on, let's go find sunny and mol" devon laughed, grabbing his arm and dragging him with her.
