CHAPTER 1: The Reunion

Samantha's POV: 

I stood outside Lando Norris's apartment, my heart pounding with a mixture of anger and hurt. I couldn't believe what I had just discovered - Lando, my boyfriend and a famous Formula 1 driver had been cheating on me with my best friend, Rachel, whom I had been taking care of and helping since everyone turned her down, even her parents.

As tears streamed down my face, Samantha turned and left the apartment, leaving Lando speechless. I didn't even want to hear his excuses or apologies. I had trusted him, and he had betrayed me in the worst possible way. I immediately handed my envelope, which confirmed that my dream of becoming a Victoria's Secret Angel was coming true. Feeling lost and heartbroken, I wandered the streets of Monaco, trying to make sense of what had just happened.

~2 months later~ 

With a newfound determination, I threw myself into a new role, focusing on my career and leaving my failed relationship with Lando behind. Two months later, I found myself in New York for the prestigious Fashion Week, surrounded by some of the world's most beautiful and successful models. As I was getting ready for the red carpet, I caught the eye of a familiar face: Daniel Ricciardo, another Formula 1 driver and one of Lando's closest friends.

"Hey, Samantha," Daniel said warmly. "It is so good to see you! You've been missed." Hugging me tight. Our relationship was like that of brothers and sisters who looked out for each other.

"Well, Hello, Danny Ricc; it is so nice to see you here" I said, not breaking our hug. 

"I'm sorry about what happened between you two," Daniel said sincerely. "Lando should have never done that to you. I hope you're okay now." I felt a pang of discomfort at the mention of Lando, but I didn't let it show. Not with all the cameras in front of me. 

 "Yes, I am," I replied calmly. I was not surprised by his genuine words and spoke to him about everything that had happened within my two months of missing in action. I could tell that Daniel truly cared, and it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

As the fashion show began, I walked back to the red carpet confidently and gracefully, feeling empowered and beautiful. 

"Samantha, look here!" a photographer yelled. "Samantha, here!" another photographer said. "Samantha! How are things with Lando Norris! We haven't seen you together for the last two months!" I felt discomfort after that question. Luckily, my manager stopped them, and I was told to go in the venue. After the Fashion Show, I've talked to some of my bosses and friends who were part of the show. I then saw Daniel waiting for me with a bouquet of flowers. Not that I assume that it was mine, but I was the only one he ever talked this evening. 

"Congratulations, it might be a bit late, but Lando told me about the Victoria's Secret promotion," he said with a grin. "And hey, if you ever want to visit the F1 paddock, I'll ensure you have the best experience."

I couldn't help but smile, feeling grateful for the unexpected friendship I had found in Daniel. Looking up at the bright lights of the fashion world, I knew that I had made the right decision to leave Lando behind. I am so excited for the new opportunities and adventures that lay ahead of me.
