41. Illuminated

"Isaac, open the door!" I yelled banging the door. It finally opened up and we saw him lying on the floor shivering, we quickly ran towards him. "He's freezing. Mr. Argent, he's like ice." I yelled as I kneeled in front of him and cupped his face. Allison pulled me aside while Mr. Argent inspected Isaac. "What happened to him?" I asked crying while Allison held me tightly. 

"Isaac, come on, look at me, you need to trigger it. Come on, turn!" 

Mr. Argent yelled at him and started punching his face while I hid my face in Allison's shoulder. Finally, Isaac's eyes turned and he sat up straight. 

"Ru...Ruth."

Isaac called me breathlessly. "I am here baby. I am right here." I said hugging him. After a while when he finally relaxed and asked, 

"Did, you guys see them?" 

Allison asked whom was he referring to. Tears formed in his eyes as he said, 

"There were five of them. They wore black. I couldn't...I couldn't see their faces, they were covered."

"What do you mean, baby, like masks?" I asked caressing his cheeks. 

"One of them... I could see his eyes. They were greenish-yellow, like a...Like a firefly." 

Then I hugged him again while Mr. Argent stood and went near the window and told us that the security system wasn't triggered. Then Allison asked him how did they get in, and before Mr. Argent could say anything, Isaac said that it was like they came out of the shadows. "Do you know what it means?" Allison and I asked Mr. Argent. Then he told us that he wasn't sure then he came in front of us and said, 

"Listen, the three of you...I need you to keep this quiet for a few hours." 

"From everyone?" 

Isaac asked sniffling. Then Mr. Argent said he just needed 24 hours. "They could've killed him, Mr. Argent." I reminded him, but he said that they didn't and he thought that there was a reason, why. Then he said that they might have been after him. After that, he walked out of the room and went into his office. Shortly I took Isaac home with me so that he could feel a little safe and I also decided to keep our promise to Mr. Argent and give him 24 hours.

The next day even though we didn't had electricity, thanks to Barrow, we had school, and as I was at my locker I saw Kira but Stiles denied me to see her and before I could say something Scott also walked in and Stiles stopped him as well saying someone left a coded message to Barrow to kill her. "Which is precisely why we need to talk to her." I said  

"Ruth, Scott, no way I am letting you guys do that. Until we figure out if she's just another psychotic monster that's going to start murdering everybody, I vote against any and all interactions."

Stiles declared, but then argued that there were chances that she could be like him but then Stiles pointed out that she walked through 1.21 gigawatts of electricity. Scott and I knew that there was no point in arguing with Stiles so, we gave each other a understanding nod and left.

During the recess as I was going to cafeteria, I saw Kira sitting near the staircase alone, eating her lunch. I went and sat next to her which alarmed her, 

"Ruth, what are you doing?" 

She asked, while I took out my lunch. "Eating my lunch, I guess." I said then I leaned over and looked at her, "Hey that looks good, do you mind if I take a little, you can have some of my lunch." Then I offered her my lunch, she took a sandwich out and replaced it with hers. We started eating silently but then she broke the silence and asked, 

"Why are you doing this?" 

I looked over at her and she had tears in her eyes, I gently caressed her face, "I am just providing a little support to a friend who's in distress." She smiled at me and then we saw Scott come, "Now that's my cue." I said standing up and leaving to give them privacy.

After school Scott told us that Kira had some sensitive photos of her on her phone and she needed our help to delete those. So in the evening Stiles and I went down to station to help them even though Stiles was really upset that Scott and I didn't listen. 

We were waiting outside the station when Scott and Kira showed up. Stile handed them the keys to break in the station when Scott asked him if we stole those. "No. We cloned them using the RFID emulator." I said and then Scott asked if that was worse then stealing and Stiles and I said it was smarter. Then Stiles explained them how to break in, 

"So, now almost everybody's out dealing with the blackout, but there's always somebody at the front desk. There's Dispatch and usually a night shifter or two. You guys are going to use the service door entrance by the dumpster, nobody uses it." 

"Now, we'll text you if anyone comes out, but Scott, if you get caught, we can't help you. Dad's under investigation for an impeachment because of your Dad, so, if anything happens we'll run and leave you both for dead." I added, they understood and thanked us and left.  

As Stiles and I were waiting for them, he was playing with a set of keys, we saw Scott's Dad going in the station. I tried calling Scott but he wasn't picking up, so we decided to go in. "We are so going to regret this." I said as we got out. Stiles shrugged and said that he know but we had to help Scott. We then quickly raced inside and stopped Scott's Dad just as he was about to enter Dad's office. 

"Hey, hey. Wow! Thank god you are here. Oh, boy! Thank the lord." 

Stiles said. Scott's Dad just made a weird face and asked us what we were doing here. "We were just...were just thinking on the case. We were thinking we should clue you in on our thinking. We were thinking that Barrow, right...he received the information about who to kill at the school, right, you know that? So, we were thinking maybe the person who gave him that information, check this out, might actually be someone at school." I said stalling, 

"Yeah and that's our thinking." 

Stiles concluded. Then he said we were right and it shocked us, he told us that they have started looking for links between Barrow, faculty and students last night. 

"So you already know that stuff. You already thought of that." 

Stiles said and then Agent McCall told us that actually our Dad did, but then he added it was his one and only useful suggestion. Then he swiped his keys and was about to enter Dad's office but I stood in front of him, "You know, this attitude that you have towards our Dad, you can dress it up to all the professional disapproval that you want, but I know for a fact that the reason you don't like him is because he knows something that you don't want him to know, and I swear to god once I get my hands on it, I am coming for you." I said poking his chest. Then I walked out and Stiles followed me. Shortly Scott and Kira also joined us, she hugged me tightly and said that this experience was awesome for her because she has never done anything like that, then she asked us if we had done anything like that and Scott, Stiles and I gave each other looks and Stiles said that only once or twice. After that Scott told us that he was taking Kira home but before he could go I took him aside, "Scotty, that girl really likes you. See, I know for a fact that she did not have naked picture of her on that phone but she trusted you to tell the truth, and she barely even knows you. I think you should make a move, not anything big, but at least instead of dropping her to her place you could take her to the party, Ethan, Aiden and Danny are organizing at Derek's loft." Then without waiting for his reply I left. 

Talking to Scott gave me an idea so I called Isaac, "Hey, are you busy?" I asked, 

"Never for you. What's up?" 

He replied. "Well, there's a party Danny is throwing at Derek's loft, would you like to go with me? I asked.

"Ruth Claudia Stilinski, are you asking me out for the first time?" 

He chuckled. "Well, I guess I am." I replied then he said he would meet me outside Derek's loft in ten minutes. After the call ended I asked Stiles if he would also like to join us, and at first he denied but then I pushed him and he agreed.

After reaching there Stiles went inside but I waited for Isaac, and as he finally came, he opened the door we saw the place was completely different, there were black lights and everyone's body was painted with glowing colors

"Derek can never know about this." 

Isaac said, "Yeah, no shit." I replied and then dragged Isaac inside. Then as we walked inside Stiles started telling us about a mysterious keys that appeared in his locker. "If you want we can leave and figure it out." I offered gaining a groan from Isaac but then a cute girl came and kissed Stiles wishing him Halloween. We all looked at each other and smirked and as expected Stiles said that it could wait and followed the girl. "On that note we're also leaving." I said and then grabbed Isaac's hand and went from there. I was thirsty so I went to the bar to get drinks for me and Isaac. After taking our drinks as I was going back I saw Allison standing there looking at Scott and Kira who were holding hands. When Kira realized that, she left Scott's hand and Scott didn't even notice but then Allison smiled at him so he again looked for Kira. After that she started walking away, but I stopped her. "Ally, are you okay?" I asked. 

"Yeah. You know since we have so much history, it felt weird for a second, hell I was even a little jealous but then I remembered why we broke up so now I am alright." 

She said. "Well, Mr. Argent would so happy that his lectures about dating a werewolf is finally working on one of us." I said and we both laughed then she went on the dance floor and started talking to a guy while I took our drinks to Isaac. 

"Hey, is Scott still with Kira? I want to talk to him." 

Isaac said as I handed him his drink. "Yes he is. What happened?" I asked.

"I am assuming neither you nor Allison told him what happened, so I want talk to him myself." 

He said, "Well, technically we still have a couple hours, we promised Mr. Argent." I reminded him but then he said that I promised him not him and I argued that it was to protect him. Then he again stated that he didn't and also that he doesn't like keeping secrets from Scott. "You don't like keeping secrets from Scott but you can keep your feelings secret from me for a very long time, huh, Lahey?" 

"What was that supposed to mean?" 

He asked smiling a little. I laughed, "Well what do you think it means?" Then he made puppy eyes,

"I think it means you're probably mad." 

"I am not mad. I'm frustrated." I said sighing, but then he grabbed my waist and pulled me into him, 

"Sexually?" 

He asked in a low a tone I couldn't help but blush a little and at that he just shrugged, then I pulled him closer that our lips were almost touching and said, "Maybe." Then I got more closer and just before the moment he thought I was going to kiss him, I slipped from his grip laughing. Then I went to the girl painting everyone's body and asked for a brush and some paint. Then I turned towards Isaac and took off my top and asked, "Do you want to talk about Scott or do you want to paint my body?" Then he held my wrist and again pulled me closer, and took the brush from me and started painting my body as I danced. As we dance I intentionally rubbed my hips against Isaac's front and felt him growing. Seconds later he was full on hard but I kept moving so, he turned me, 

"You know love, if you keep on doing this then I will loose the little restrain I have left in me, and will tear you clothes right here and claim what's mine right here in front of everyone."

Isaac growled. I laughed and grabbed his face in order to kiss him but when I got closer I noticed something behind his ear. 

"Hey, what happened? What's wrong?" 

He asked, "There's something on your head, behind your ear." I told him and took him out of there. He stood in front of a mirror and I turned his head, "There, can you see that?" I asked pointing at the mark, he folded his ear in order to get a better look and we noticed it looked like the number 5. Then he turned towards me and asked if I heard something, I shook my head but he moved towards the ice and I followed and then we saw Ethan laying there in same condition as Isaac was yesterday. We pulled him out of there and Isaac broke his arm to trigger the healing. After he was healing I looked behind his ear and he had the same mark as Isaac. "We have to tell Scott now." I said and Isaac nodded, then as we were helping Ethan get up Isaac told me Derek just got here, so Isaac and I both supported Ethan and went back to main party only to see everyone leaving and five strange masked men moving towards Aiden. Isaac told me that they were the same men that attacked him yesterday. Those guys started moving towards Aiden in faster speed so Scott and Derek started attacking them. 

Soon Isaac left Ethan to me and went to help them. Then I also remembered I had my guns on me so I made Ethan sit while I lifted my skirt a little and grabbed the guns strapped on my upper thigh and started shooting those men. But it was like they were made of steel they easily defeated all of us and when Isaac went to attack them one of them pulled a sword out of their chest so I pulled Isaac back. They finally went to Aiden and did something to him that he fell on the floor. Then they were moving towards Scott who was in his wolf form but soon the sun came up and they all turned into dust. Scott asked Derek what was those things but Derek was as clueless as any of us, so I looked over at Allison and said, "I am sorry Ally, but you Dad's 24 hours are up." Then I nodded towards Isaac and he told everyone what happened with him yesterday.
