Chapter 9
11:14, 1 August 2017I slowly opened my eyes. My arm was hanging off the edge of the bed along with my leg. Light shined in through the window. Realizing that Allan was not here, I shot straight up. If he got caught he would be hanged. Good thing he had left during the night. Good thing he left his shirt too. I fell back, curling in a ball, holding his shirt that still covered my body.
After breakfast, I went to the little meadow that guy took me to thee other day.
I sat in the tree that we sat under. As I swung my leg I began to wonder about everything. "I'm the sheriff's daughter! I'm not supposed to fall for a poor outlaw. Though, if Allan was a knight... Everything would be fine, right? The question is, who would I choose? Guy is a kind, caring soul but he can be heartless and careless sometimes. While Allan is sweet and has feelings and can care but he can also be careless. Both are no doubt good looking to me. Exspecially Allan's eyes! They are the shade of blue like the salty waters of the coast." I tell myself as if I was talking to someone else inside my head.
A loud fire cracking noise came from behind. The noise scared me so much, I managed to fall out of the tree. Thankful that I wasn't so high in the tree and that landed on my feet and hands.
I wasn't sure what the noise was, so I climbed on my horse and rode home.
As I was riding through Locksley, I noticed people were gathering. I slowed the horse to a trotting pace. Seeing my fathers knights, I quickly got off. Worming through the people, I found father sitting on a throne that was sitting on a platform. He also was holding a rope that held a boy in chains.
"Father! What is the meaning of this!" I shouted as I ran to the poor boy.
Father sighed deeply. "Robin took something of mine so I took something of his. Now leave the boy be and stand over here! Hood should be here soon."
I did as I was told. I stood there, next to his throne while watching him call for Robing Hood like a sick woman calling for her dead husband.
Soon Robin did appear, but he was holding a box.
They were going to meet in the middle to exchange what they had. Fathers blacksmith stayed close to his side to make sure what Robin has is real.
"Sirena, come get the boy." Father ordered.
Why is he so different when in public?
I took the boy and started to untie the rope. I had to wait for the key while the blacksmith checked the box that robin was holding. When everything was okay, I received the key and unlocked the boy.
As we were walking back to the platform, I heard father mumble words.
Gisborne walked out in silver armor. He chased after Robin. I held the boy while watching the intense fight. Father freaked in joy when Robin was thrown out a window. Suddenly robin was cornered. With quick thinking he threw a sticky, black liquid onto Guy. Then Hood quickly fastened a bow together that was loaded with an arrow that held flames. He aimed the arrow and let it fly. The stuff on Guy's armor was on fire. Gisborne was panicking. It took him forever to finally jump into a tub of water. Robin then jumped in after him and held a sword to Guy's throat.
"Tell your men to withdraw, Sheriff! Another exchange. The black diamonds for Gisborne!" Robin shouted.
You couldn't hear what Hood was saying to Guy but you could hear Gisborne's cries for my father.
As father and the blacksmith walked closer to Robin and Guy, Robin shoved Guy under the water.
"You, um, you seem to have overestimated Gisborne's importance to me." Father shouts back to Hood.
I give the boy to one of the guards because I am afraid that father isn't going to save Sir Guy.
"Not even you would let him die." Hood says as he lets Guy get some air.
"Um, I have everything I could want."
I go to father and order him, to save Guy.
"Sirena, what are you doing? Are you helping Hood!?"
"Father that is not what I am doing. I am asking you to save Guy. He is loyal to you. He is noble and a good man. Please father!" I begged him to save Guy.
Father threw the rocks towards Robin. When walking away he grabbed my arm. "Have no doubt. You will be punished." He said while gritting his teeth.
Instead of going to the castle, I sneaked to see Guy.
His hair was wet and fell perfectly in his face.
"You saved my life. I'm grateful." Guy says as I walk towards him.
"I could not watch you die and do nothing. That would be wrong."
Father came marching over to Guy and I. He looked angry after what happened. "What were you thinking!" He yelled as he grabbed my arm.
"Guy is a faithful man. I was preventing you from making a mistake." I say quietly, scared of what he's going to do.
Father raises his voice and starts to spit a little. "You do not prevent me from making a mistake! You will be punished!" Father turns and starts to storm away.
"Well, I'm ready for your punishment!" I sassed to him as I wiped my face.
He turns around but looks more angry than before. "You will be locked in your room until you know how to behave yourself! Daughter!" He shouts that storms away again for good.
I turn to Gisborne, who was taking pity on me. He came closer and wrapped his arms around me. As guy ran his fingers through my hair, I began to cry.
Why was Father so different today?
