July 10th. Fezco's birthday.

It'd been a week since the drugs incident, and everyone had moved on. Lilith, Lexi, ashtray and rue had been planning fezco's birthday for the week. Buying him gifts, Lexi baking him a cake the day before, and now was the day itself.

Fezco was still asleep in his room, it was 9am and everyone was awake, trying to decorate the house as quietly as possible.

If ash was honest, he wasn't used to throwing birthday celebrations and all that shit. Him and fez had always kept it on a sort of down low, just a small happy birthday and maybe a few blunts smoked in the evening and that was it.

But, this was the first time ash was actually celebrating a birthday. He smiled over at Lilith, as she stood in his joggers and T-shirt, working with Rue to pin 'happy 21'st!' and 'happy birthday' banners on the walls all around the house.

Lexi was in the kitchen, decorating his cake as she'd only baked it the day before and then left it to cool overnight.

Ash was cleaning the house up in general, as it was his first time celebrating a birthday properly and he didn't really know what to do. He'd hoovered the night before, and now was cleaning all surfaces, placing cushions neatly on the sofas and the chair in the living room, and spraying air freshener everywhere.

Lils walked in, taking a deep breath of the cotton air fresher while looking around before smiling over at ash.

"You've done a really good job ash. Now we've got to go and wrap all his presents." She said quietly, before both of them tiptoed upstairs to his bedroom.

She reached into his closet and pulled out a roll of sellotape, a huge roll of black sparkly wrapping paper, and a few sticky bows for the tops of his presents.

Ash pulled all his presents out from under his bed. Ash had bought him some smaller things, while Lilith had gone slightly all out, since she too didn't always get the pleasure of celebrating peoples birthdays.

They sat down on ashtrays floor and got to work, wrapping each present carefully while joking around quietly with each other.

While Lilith wrapped a big, heavy box, ash suddenly reached forward, his finger catching under her chin, tilting her head up to look at him.

She raised an eyebrow in confusion, but small butterflies erupted in her stomach as they stared at each other with soft expressions on their faces.

He leaned over slightly. He was now so close that their noses were almost touching, and they could feel each other's small warm breaths on each other's faces.

Her stomach was doing summersaults, as was his.

Then, all of a sudden, he reached his other hand up, sticking a long strip of sellotape on her forehead before falling backwards, cackling.

"Oh my god! Ash!" She cried before bursting out laughing, reaching up and tearing the tape off her face in amusement. Ash in the meantime, was rolling around on the floor, holding his stomach as he creased with laughter. He was laughing so hard that she could see a tear or two slip from his eyes.

She'd never seen him laugh like this before, and it made her heart warm.

No! Stop! You don't like him like that! She mentally scolded herself while laughing along with him.

"S-sorry ma, I had to!" he choked through his laughter, sitting up a little bit as she shook her head, still laughing with him but continuing to wrap the box in front of her.

"You're a little shit ashtray!" She said before starting to giggle again, before finishing wrapping the box and pushing it towards the pile of wrapped presents they'd already made for Fezco.

She looked around, and realised that she was finally done wrapping, as was ash.

Ash had finally composed himself a bit more, still letting out little breathless giggles as his arm stayed wrapped around his stomach, his proud grin never leaving his face once.

"Right! We should probably get all this downstairs." She declared, standing up and starting to pick up the smaller gifts to carry them all downstairs first.

Ash nodded and stood up, picking up some of the bigger presents to help her out as they left his bedroom, tiptoeing back downstairs and laying the presents out in a neat pile in front of the tv in the living room.

Lexi and Rue's presents were already laid out near the tv too, and once lilith and ash were finally done brining all the presents down, they realised quite how much they'd spoiled Fezco today.

To make up for all the birthdays we missed, bro. Ash thought to himself, while looking down at the cute little display they'd made.

Lilith sat on the sofa carefully, not to mess up ash's hard work of cleaning, before pulling a birthday card out from under the sofa cushion and a pen from the drawer inside the coffee table.

She started to write the inside, before passing it to everyone for them to sign afterwards.

Ash stood there, reading the words on the card as a smile spread across his lips. He didn't like corny cheesy stuff, but he knew fezco deserved to finally have an amazing birthday after such a long time of not experiencing one properly.

'To fezco, Happy 21'st birthday!!! We all love you so so much, thank you for everything you've done for all of us. We're so proud of you, you're an incredible person and we wouldn't be here without you man.

"It's beautiful Lils!" Ash said softly, walking to lils and sitting next to her before pulling her into a gentle hug. A proper hug. She'd never gotten a proper hug from him before, just small touches and side hugs, so this was new, but she definitely wasn't complaining.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as his arms snaked around her waist, resting their heads on each other's shoulders as they found comfort and warmth in each other's bodies.

They pulled away after a minute, looking back down at the card before Lilith grabbed the envelope from the table, writing,

Fezco :)

on it before putting the card inside, licking the sticky part a tiny bit to make sure it stuck down properly and placing it at the very front of the present display.

They stood there for a few minutes, ash's arm wrapped around Lilith's waist from beside her as she rested her head on his shoulder. They just stood, admiring the presents proudly, not a word being spoken between them.

They didn't need to say anything. Everything was quite clear already. They'd done an amazing job, and now they just had to wait for Fezco to experience the joy of opening it all.

They suddenly heard the thudding of footsteps down the stairs behind them, making them turn and smile widely when their eyes landed on a tired but happy fezco.

"Happy birthday, brother!!" Ash said happily, grinning as he walked to Fez and pulled him into a bro hug.

Fez was taken aback for a second, before he smiled and patted ash's back, nodding a bit. "Thanks bro," he said, before turning to Lilith. "Where's Lexi and rue, lil sis?" He asked her, making her shout out to the two said girls.

"Lex! Rue! He's awake!" She called, making them rush out of the kitchen, Lexi running to Fez and almost jumping on him, arms wrapping around his neck as she squealed.

"Happy birthday handsome!!" She cried, before pulling away and doing something none of them expected.

She crashed her lips to his, giving him a drawn out kiss before pulling away and hugging him again.

Fez looked baffled. Discombobulated. Flustered. His cheeks dusted a dark shade of red as he hugged her back, butterflies swarming his stomach. He'd never felt this way about anyone before, but he loved it.

"Thanks Lex." He managed to squeak, before Lexi pulled away and rue went to hug him.

"Happy birthday you old fuck." Rue laughed, hugging him briefly before pulling away and nodding at him in her usual rue manner.

Lilith was stood there, hands clasped in front of her as she smiled at the scene. See, she was all enthusiastic about this, but that didn't mean she was used to it or that she knew what to do in a situation where so much affection was being shown.

Fez looked over at lilith and walked up to her, pulling her into a gentle hug, already knowing this was all down to her.

"Thanks for this, kid. It means a lot." He whispered into her hair, before pressing a gentle peck to the top of her head and pulling away from her.

It was such a cute gesture. Fezco wasn't the affectionate type at the best of times, but when it came to family, he'd always treat them well.

"So," Lexi started, making everyone turn to look at her. "We've got plans for today. But first, everyone needs to go and freshen up and get ready, it's gonna be a really good day!" She said happily, clapping her hands excitedly before rushing upstairs, everyone following in hot pursuit to go to their own rooms.

Ash and Lils rushed into ash's room, and looked at each other before laughing happily.

"He likes it!!! Wait, he likes it right???" Lilith said, sudden waves of anxiety hitting her as she stared at ash, scared. "What if he doesn't like it? What if he's pretending to like it to not hurt any of us?!" She said, hands flying up to her face as she buried her face in them, heartbeat increasing.

"Calm down shawty! He loves it, I can tell!" Ash reassured, pulling her against his body and kissing the top of her head softly as an act of trying to calm her down.

She looked up at him, before grinning and rushing to his closet and rummaging around the bottom of it. She'd left some clothes here the past few nights beforehand, so she had a choice of what she wanted to wear today.

She chose a white minidress with small blue butterflies all over it, and a pair of her air Jordan's.

Ash took her place in front of the closet after she'd walked away, grabbing one of his nicer looking tracksuits to wear.

They both stood there awkwardly, before Lilith cleared her throat and smiled, knowing they'd have to change together since rue would be changing in the bathroom.

"Turn around..." she mumbled, before turning her back to ashtray and pulling his top off her body, praying to the gods above that he wasn't looking.

He wasn't, he'd already turned around and started changing too, both of them rushing so that they wouldn't have to feel as awkward for as long.

As she pulled the dress on, she felt a sudden wave of confidence. She'd always felt gorgeous in certain clothes, and this dress definitely peaked that feeling.

And that was when she knew, today was going to me amazing.
