Steve POV

Everyone was busy preparing for her welcome. Clint was making special pancakes. Bruce and Thor were decorating the living room and Nat... Well, she was commanding everyone as always. She seems to be the most excited and happy. At last she was going to have a female companion.

I have finished the work assigned to me and now I'm resting on the sofa, sipping my coffee and thinking about the new girl who would be here any moment now.

Rose is talented. And I like talented people.

"Hey Captain! " My attention shifted to Thor who looked tired. Natasha is doing a great job. "Yes Thor? " I asked, placing the mug on the table."What do you think about my beautiful decorations? " He asked pointing to the wall. I was stunned for a moment.

The walls would have looked better without those ribbons and balloons. "Thor what have you tried to mention using those ribbons? " I asked him pointing to some words collaged with torn ribbons.

"Oh that one! That shows that I'm happy to have her in our group. I'm happy you're here." He grinned proudly and it took all my effort not to facepalm or roll my eyes. He should have written 'Welcome to the Team'.

"And why there are so few balloons?" "Well, the balloons were too weak to handle my pressure. Those survived were worthy. " He said as if stating a fact. "Say Captain. How is it? " He asked again.

"I am just speechless, Thor. " I said forcing a smile. Nat would be so 'pleased'...

"Thor! What have you done?!! " Bruce and Barton exclaimed together. "It's enough friends. You are praising me too much" Thor grinned, flipping his long curls back. "Let's pray for his soul. " Clint murmured.

"Where is Natasha? " Bruce asked. "I am here guys. " Nat stepped out of the elevator. "I just needed extra cellotape an-" She stopped ,staring at the wall.

All were silent for a moment and then the bomb exploded.

"THOR ODINSON!!! "

Rose POV

The elevator opened with a ding. I stepped out of the lift. The room was dark. Maybe the team didn't know I was coming so they went out somewhere. Where did Mr. Stark go? He told me he will meet me here. I turned back to go when suddenly the room lit up and the Avengers jumped in front of me. "Welcome to the team! " They greeted loudly.

To be frank, I nearly peed in my pants.

Ma'am Natasha hugged me tightly. "I am so happy to get a smart female teammate. These boys are oaf." I laughed. One by one they all hugged and greeted me except Mr. Steve and Mr. Thor.

Mr. Steve came smiling and greeted me with a beautiful bouquet. "Welcome Rose." God! He is so beautiful!

I took the bouquet from him. "Thank you Sir." "Don't call me sir. Just Steve." He said, the infectious smile still on his face. "Thank you Steve. "

"Lady Rose." I was startled by the booming voice of Mr. Thor. He bowed and kissed my knuckles. "Only Rose sir, " I said "and what happened to your eye?" I asked pointing to the black eye.

He blushed and scratched his neck, shyly. Before he could answer, ma'am Natasha piped in. "He deserved it, Rose. "

"Ma'am it's not fair to hurt a teddy bear like that... " I protested. "Will you stop calling us ma'am and sir. Call me Nat." She ordered me. "Ok ma'a- Nat." I quickly corrected myself and turned my attention to Thor.

I placed my white glowing hand on his black eye and healed it completely. "Better?" I asked with a smile. "Better. Thank you." He bowed again. "Why did you do that? It was his punishment." Nat glared at Thor.

"Punishment! For what?" I asked and turned to look where Nat was pointing in reply. A mutilated wall.

I went near it 'I'm happy to have you here'. I couldn't stop laughing. "Aww! So sweet Thor! I love it! " I chuckled, patting his huge arms.

"Let's party. Who wants cheeseburger?" Mr. Stark entered the room. "And pancakes?" Client piped in.

"Me!!! " We all chimed in.

A perfect day. A perfect way to start a new life...
