What Happened!?
20:34, 18 January 2017Beast Boy's P.O.V:
I was sitting in the couch with Raven, cuddling.
I heard the doorbell ring, and Cyborg ran downstairs,"I got it!"
I sighed as I pulled Raven closer to me, but then I tensed when I heard a voice behind me.
"Here's Beast Boy..." Cyborg muttered.
Robin and Starfire had just entered the room, but they stopped to look at the person with Cyborg.
I felt Raven stand up and look at the new person, but I just stayed on the couch, not even turning around.
I knew who it was, and I didn't ever want to see her again.
"Beast Boy?" I heard the familiar voice ask.
I narrowed my eyes, then stood up,"Get out."
"B...please listen!"
"I don't wanna hear what you have to say. The last time I saw you, you were a clone. You are another clone, and I'm not making the same mistake I did last time," I got a pistol from my belt, spinning around and pointing it at the girl's head.
"Gar! Please, listen to me!"
"Don't call me that! I'm not stupid anymore, Emily! You've been dead for 13 years! You're not coming back, and neither are they!" I growled.
"Then ask me one question that nobody would know, not even a clone," the girl, now labeled as Emily, looked me straight in the eyes.
I glared at her, then asked,"What happened when the kids started making fun of my green color?"
"Seriously Gar?"
"Don't call me that, and answer the question."
"You...got bullied and then killed them afterwards..." Emily smiled sadly.
I continued to glare as I spoke,"Yep. You got half of it right."
"So...you believe that I'm the real thing?"
"No. Yes, I did get bullied...but no twin sister could forget that I almost killed myself! I almost murdered myself because you encouraged the kids to continue to bully me...and treat me like a punda!" I growled.
"Look...I'm sorry...but things got a little-"
I breathed in, then slowly breathed out, pulling the trigger. A loud bang was heard, and a body hit the floor.
I saw my friends look at me in fear and anger, but I didn't care. I walked up to the body, looking at the blood.
I noticed that the blood was a green-red color, almost brown. I saw the body slowly fade away, until nothing was left.
"Can't fool me, punda-shimo," I glared at where the body used to lay.
"How did you know that she wasn't...real?" Robin asked, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"No sibling of mine would forget about how much pain they caused me," I growled. "Plus...my sister died with my parents. I found her body with theirs."
"You said that you wouldn't make the 'same mistake you made last time...' What does that mean?" Cyborg asked.
"This happened before, at least before I met you guys. The clone tried to take over my mind by injecting this weird syrem...but I killed her before she could."
"Oh...We're sor-"
I snapped at Cyborg,"Don't ever feel sorry for me."
I walked out of the room, putting a bullet back in my pistol and turning back on the safety.
"Beastie, look at me," I turned around and looked at my wife.
"What? Are you here to insult me? Tell me that I'm a murderer?"
"No...I just wanted to ask if you were okay. You looked pretty shaken up... You know you can tell me anything, and I will help."
I smiled sadly as I put the pistol in my belt. It turned invisible when I did, and I walked over to Raven.
"Thanks for being there, and for holding our kids," I muttered as I kissed her, putting a hand on her barely noticeable stomach.
"Are we gonna tell them?" Raven asked as she pulled away, looking me in the eyes.
I looked back at her amythest ones,"Do you want to?"
She shook her head, and I smirked.
"I knew you didn't have the guts to," I joked, pushing her lightly with my hand.
She glared playfully, then tossed me out the window of the tower.
I turned into a bird, but then something caught my eye on the ground, so I decided to check it out.
Raven's P.O.V:
It had been about 30 seconds, and I was starting to get worried about Beast Boy.
He hadn't flown back up yet, and the others seemed to notice as well.
We ran to the hole in the window, looking down for Beast Boy.
I saw him and a man. The man was dressed in black, and he stood, looking at Beast Boy with his arms crossed. Beast Boy's hands were clenched into fists and he was tense, showing signs of him being mad.
I could see them talking, and I saw a glare on Beast Boy's face.
I could faintly hear him yell,"Stay away from me and my family!"
The man replied something that I couldn't hear, and I saw Beast Boy punch him square in the jaw.
I saw the man stumble, but only slightly. I saw him wipe his lip off, and I saw blood on his hand after that.
He made a comment, and then Beast Boy kneed him in the stomach before saying something and walking to the tower door.
We waited for him, and when he came out if the elevator, he looked at us in confusion.
"What?"
"Who was that?" Robin asked.
"No one important," Beast Boy's glare came back, and he clenched his fists again. "Just an old friend."
"Who was he? What was his name? Where did you meet him?" Robin started bombing Beast Boy with questions, and Beast Boy's eyes looked scared as he backed up.
"Stop! Please! I can't take it!" Beast Boy's eyes closed as he covered his ears and crouched into a fetal position.
Robin immediately stopped.
"Beast?" Cyborg asked, slowly walking up to him.
Beast Boy tried to back up, but he couldn't because he was already against the wall.
"Leave me alone..." he whimpered, and I couldn't help but notice how he looked like a scared dog.
He was cornered, and as Cyborg continued to walk up to him, he lashed out, growing.
"Guys...I think his animal instincts are making him like one..." I said as Cyborg jumped away from Beast Boy.
Beast Boy took slow breaths, and he started telling himself,"It's just a memory...they can't hurt you. These are your friends. Don't hurt them... They just wanna help..."
My husband stood up and clutched his head, still breathing in and out slowly.
He eventually looked up at us, who were looking back with confusion and fear.
"Sorry... I just had a panic attack...kinda..." Beast Boy muttered, looking at the ground.
I walked up to him and hugged him, and he gladly returned it. I felt him start shaking, and I heard him sniffle quietly.
"It's okay, Beastie..." I comforted him as he started crying.
I hugged him tighter, and I could feel him do the same as he buried his face in my shoulder.
The others soon joined in our hug, and soon he stopped crying.
"Sorry..." he muttered as he looked back down at the ground. "It's just...my past was rough...and when Robin started asking all those questions it made me relive a bad memory."
"Sorry...do you wanna talk about it?" Robin said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Beast Boy looked up at Robin, his eyes still filled with tears.
"If that's okay...I would rather not... I've already cried once today...and it's been at least 13 years since I've cried..."
We looked at him in shock,"You haven't cried for 13 years?"
He nodded, slowly wiping his eyes.
"Why?" Cyborg asked.
"I figured that crying gets you nowhere, and all it does is made you weak. I haven't cried about getting hurt in battle...or having my feelings hurt. It happens, but it doesn't hurt as bad as you think."
"Oh..." Robin looked down at his feet as Beast Boy started walking out of the room.
I grabbed his arm,"Wait."
He looked at me, waiting for the question.
"Why don't you like talking about your past? You act so happy and carefree...you must have the best past of all of us! Robin's parents died when he was 8, Starfire got cast out from her home, Cyborg got in a car accident and wasn't the same ever again, and I was only born to be a portal for the end of the world! What's so 'rough' about your past?" I asked, watching my husband for any reaction.
He didn't do anything, but her stepped back and muttered,"Your lives, compared to mine, sound wonderful..."
I looked at him in shock and he tried to turn around, but I grabbed his shoulders and made him look at me.
"Then help me understand. Tell me your past. We will understand," I saw his face fall, and he looked up into my eyes, sadness clouding over them.
"Fine."
"No, really. We will- Wait...did you say-?
"I said fine. Sit on the couch. I'll be right back..." Beast Boy walked off, heading towards his room.
I motioned for the others to sit on the couch with me, and they did.
"What do you think is so bad about his past...that ours look amazing in his eyes?" Cyborg asked, looking at Robin.
"I don't know...but he did say something about him almost killing himself and finding his sister's body with his parents..."
Beast Boy stepped back into the room, holding a couple of books in his hands.
One looked like an old scrapbook, as pages and the edges looked yellow and torn. The other was a small journal, and by the looks of it...it was used for multiple things.
"Okay. I'll start with my real name...so...from the beginning. My real name is Garfield Mark Logan. I was born in Africa...and I grew up there for about 3 years of my life," Beast Boy started talking, and we looked at him with intrest.
"I can't read or understand English...but I can speak it. I can also speak French, Polish, Spanish, and even a little Latin... I never actually learned to read or write in them though..."
"So is that why you always ask me about the files that Robin tells us to read?" Cyborg asked as Beast Boy opened the scrapbook.
He nodded,"Yeah...the only laguage I can read, write, speak, and understand is Swahili."
He showed us a picture of a small boy with blonde hair, tan skin, and light blue eyes. He looked around two years old.
"This was me just before I turned two..." Beast Boy said, the rest of us looking from the picture, to him, and back again.
"That...normal looking boy...was you?" I asked.
He nodded,"Before I turned two...I looked like a normal human. My parents were in Africa looking for a green monkey, which was know to cause a disease called Sakutia...or as its know here: green fever."
Cyborg looked at him in shock, but the rest of us were confused.
"Isn't green fever that disease that kills you in under 48 hours?" he asked, looking at Beast Boy in awe.
He nodded,"No one has ever survived...no one except me."
"You survived a deadly disease?" Robin asked, surprised.
"Yep...and it made me sick as hell..."
"How sick...?"
"Imagine the flu...mixed with stomach bug, bronchitis, tuberculosis, and pneumonia."
We looked at him in shock.
He chuckled at our faces,"Well...my parents were biologists...and lucky for me...they studied rare diseases. When I got Sakutia, my parents were so scared. They used an untested serum on me, and it worked. It had a few...side effects...though. My skin and hair turned green, and I got my animal powers from it. I got pointed ears, fangs, and green eyes...including animal instincts. It was about six months after the incident...and my mom was about to get bit by a Black Mamba..."
All of us waited for the part where he said that she died after getting bit by the snake.
"I...turned into a Mongoose...and then ate the snake..."
Cyborg laughed,"And you say you're a vegetarian!"
Beast Boy smirked,"That was the last time I ate meat, Cyborg!"
We all chuckled, and then Beast Boy continued on with his story.
"It was about another six months later, and my parents and I were going to go on a boating trip for my birthday."
"That seems nice..." Robin muttered.
Beast Boy scoffed,"It seems nice...but actually... They were drunk. They killed themselves, and my one year old sister."
We all stopped laughing or snickering then.
"Wow..."
"After that...a few men came from America to take me back so that I could live with my uncle. He was okay for about two weeks...but then he started abusing me when he found out about my inheretence. My mom and dad had inherented me their money...which was close to around 4 million dollars."
"Woah...you have that much money?" Robin asked.
"Kinda... My uncle was trying to get me to kill myself--you know...suicide--just so that he could get my inheretence. It almost worked...until I was four. He stopped me from doing it...and then sold me to S.T.A.R.R. Labs for 20 million."
"Wow..."
Beast Boy looked at us,"Yeah... They... They cut me open...tested on me...broke my bones and looked at my pain tolerance..."
I shuddered as he lifted up his shirt, showing us the scars they left.
We gasped, and he quickly shoved his shirt back down,"The reason I hate going into Star's room isn't because of how girly it is... It's because the stuffed animals she has...the fabric was tested on me to see if it was poisonous to animal or humans..."
I saw Cyborg shift uncomfortably, because his dad used to work at S.T.A.R.R. Labs,"After that, I escaped about four years later...so I was now eight. Some...people found me... At the time...I didn't know that they were criminals...so they said that they would help me...if I helped them."
He handed us a newspaper clipping, and the heading read: "BOY ACUSED OF MURDER"
We looked at it with wide eyes.
"You...murdered someone...?" I asked.
He shook his head,"No. They killed themselves, and then I was acused of it. I ran away again...at at this point I was ten. The clone thing happend...and I soon decided that I wanted to be a part of the Doom Patrol...so I invaded their hideout. They captured me...but then was impressed by how I was trying to escape. They let me in...but then two years later I got kicked out for not following orders. Then I found you guys..."
We looked at him in sadness,"Don't beat yourself up about it...and just know that we will always be there for you. We're your new family, and we always will be."
I looked at Robin with a smile, and so did Beast Boy.
I'm done! Yay! That took WAY longer than I though it would...but oh well! I didn't know what to put here...but the next chapter is for SURE going to be about Raven and Beast Boy's kids! Thanks for reading!
