If In Doubt, Vote Them Out

{Red's POV}

I don't know what stopped me from murdering him. He was right there, deliciously defenseless. Yet, I couldn't bring myself to slaughter him like the lamb he is. Something prevented me from doing so, and when he turned around, I decided to play along for the most part and stargaze with him. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy his life story and him talking about himself. I also had to think of a story of my own- amnesia, oh please, thank goodness White was stupid enough to believe it. I thought he was just stupid- but he did have this weird effect on me once again. I couldn't help want to get closer. Maybe he is like a Venus fly trap- and I'm the fly. However, I couldn't stop myself from shifting closer, wanting warmth, wanting something more than just following a directive. I wanted him.

So, I held hands with White. I was starting to recognize this behavior- I saw it with Orange and Yellow while in my containment. Their faces turning red, hand holding, being close together, and their hearts racing in an unusual way. I still don't know what this is, but it felt... pleasant. I didn't know I had this kind of emotion inside me. I even forgot about the knife in my back pocket. My main instinct-my directive, is to stealthily kill other specimen that isn't myself, so, what is this?

After some time, I felt White's heart rate slow down dramatically- I thought he was finally dead and I could stop feeling this weird sense of dread- but then I realized he was just asleep. I sighed, carrying him to the room. When every inch of my being told me to just kill him and get it over with, however, I didn't. I kept him safe. I kept him alive. Resting him on the bed, I still wasn't satisfied.

If I couldn't bring myself to murder White, then someone else will have to do for now.

I heard a scream in the other room, It didn't wake me up because I don't sleep, I just wait. I noticed White jolting awake, I pretended to wake up as well, and White ran outside faster than I could. His helmet was tilted a bit to the right, but he didn't seem to care.

Walking outside, everyone was gathered around in Brown and Lime's room. All I knew about Lime was he was extroverted and looked up to Purple. I didn't bother to learn anything else about him. Besides, I know what this is about.

I pushed through the crowd of murmurs and cries, to see half of Lime's body in the middle of room, just as I left it. Brown was sobbing and screaming, she must have gotten along well with him. It seems she is also the friendly type- or maybe this was just a normal human reaction to death. One or the other. I stared at the body, and then we heard the emergency meeting alarm.

Everyone jolted from the noise, and looked at each other, before heading out to the cafeteria. Purple and Black were waiting by the tables, with a menacing aura around them that nobody liked. Although, as long as White doesn't say anything suspicious, then I won't be a suspect.

"Another one of us have died today. As it is a tragedy, we must prevent this from happening again." Purple announced, as he eyes everyone with suspicion. "We will need to figure out who this impostor is, and quickly. So let us begin." He seemed cold, and pulled out a few devices.

Every was silent, and didn't take the devices. It seems everyone was in shock. Someone spoke up, "Purple, shouldn't we, y'know, grieve first, or mourn? It seems like this is going too fast." Everyone nodded shakily, and Purple sighs, shaking his head, "This is something that needs to be done immediately, I'm afraid." He hands each one of us a device with a list of our names and a 'skip vote' option. "This is our voting device. In order to make it fair, each one has their own, and will not let it go into the wrong hands, understood?" Everyone nodded profusely, still shaken up.

"Now, let's begin." He sternly demanded, and placed both hands on the table, sitting back down. "What do we know?" Nobody spoke for a while, until Pink spoke up.

"Well," she started, "Everyone knows the body was in Brown and Lime's room, but who could've done it?" Dark Blue scoffs, "Isn't it obvious? It has to be Brown."

Brown was shocked, "No! I would never do that to Lime!" Every eye was on her, and she was very taken back, "I was asleep the whole time! Someone obviously tried to frame me!" People looked over at each other. I glance over at White, and he was very nervous, as if he had something to say. No, White... No..

Black spoke up, "So, was anyone else up at this time?" He eyed everyone, and noticed White fidgeting, "White?" He jolts, "Do you have something to say?" He shakes his head, "N-No.. I'm just.. just a little scared.."

"Actually," Brown spoke up, "I did see White and Red by the window last night, seemingly stargazing." She sounded very confident in that statement. Everyone started muttering amongst themselves. White's heart rate had gotten faster, and he looked like he would pass out again, I myself started feeling nervous, but I immediately regained my composure.

"How did you know we were up?" I asked her, "I thought you were asleep." She squeaked, "Well, I did get up to get a glass of water, but I went straight to bed!" My helmet glimmered, "But why were you watching us? Were you planning something?"

Some people spoke around us, "Well, it's weird how White and Red were up, but Brown.."

"Brown said she was asleep!"

"Was she lying?"

"She has to be the Impostor!"

Purple snaps his fingers, "Well, have we decided?" Brown started shaking, "No! We need more time-" There was a beeping sound, people voting on their tablets. "Wait! Guys! It's not me! You have to believe me!" People looked up from their tablets, glaring at Brown. She looked at her own, and pressed on her tablet. I could hear her sobbing in the suit.

Mostly everyone voted for her, except White and herself. Everyone was silent. Pink spoke up after several minutes, "What do we do now?" Purple cracks his fingers, "Well, since Black and I decided that killing the Impostor would make it just as bad as them, we decided ejecting them is more... humane." Brown gasped, holding her head, "So... you're going to let me die in space!?" She cried, and Purple shrugged, "I'm sorry, but we can't have you around anymore. It's unsafe."

We all gathered by the trash chute, and threw Brown in it, then that's when she flipped out, banging her hands on the glass, and screaming for us to let her out. We had poked a hole in her oxygen tank. If she were the Impostor, she won't die. Purple pulls the lever, and we all watch through the window. Brown struggled around, then, stopped. Purple checked the vitals tablet,

"She's dead."

(A/N: Hi! This chapter was a bit longer- I hope that's no issue, but I did want to bring up that I love how all of you love my story and writing and all, but I can't upload every day, I have school and work and other art to work on, and I can't devote all my time on fanfiction. I will upload as frequently as I can, though! I hope you all understand <3)
